  • It looks like a high-tech video game. But the CAREN system's purpose is surprisingly serious: to help patients with neurological diseases re-educate their nerves and muscles.

There is one of these exact systems in Ottawa. I've been on it. Fantastic.

Would undoubtedly be useful for FSHD and post stroke, other conditions too I'm sure. I have earmarked your video for inclusion on our website which hosts links to any video of help or interest to disabled people, whatever their impairment, wherever they live. Please feel free to submit any other relevant videos to our website.

Why not just go for a walk? What special benefit does the pseudo-vr system give?

Weston Vail it is safer than them falling outside and injurying themselves while relearning balance. Miscle memory and nerves need to be retrained over and over. The harness will keep them from falling.

you can check movement and measure in real-time and give feedback on the spot... also some patients are not well enough to walk in unknown environments. you can further challenge the patient to fall and stumble with the advanced dual treadmill.

This has its own benefits as mentioned the video itself and as stated by another commenter, but this is probably only part of the treatment and not all of it, I'm sure having an actual walk in a safe place with fresh air has its own benefits as well to the patient's health and well being.

I’m a patient of Dr Shrivastava at the Cole eye center and I’m blind in my left eye. My right eye has peripheral vision issues and I’m curious if you have any programs that could help me to increase my peripheral vision and depth perception?
      Thank you.
