I mean, not everyone is Tagalog. I feel like in some cases it's those people that think making _all_ Filipinos learn Tagalog is wrong since we all have our local languages and learning English is just so we can speak to each other and to foreigners. Of course, I, personally, am fine with learning Tagalog/Filipino, but I do believe it should only be mandatory in Luzon and optional in Visayas and Mindanao. It's like the issue in China where, should _every_ Chinese person learn Mandarin. There's lots of groups and languages in China like Cantonese, Fuzhounese, Hokkien, etc. Should they _have_ to learn Mandarin? Personally, no, especially since their writing is basically the same just read differently per language, but their Goverment would definitely disagree with me. They want China to be more unified but also more homogeneous (i.e. pare-parehas na Han Chinese na nagsasalita ng Mandarin at under kay Xi Jingping).
I really love how they point out that yes, while the English language is important, it is equally important to continue teaching the Filipino language in schools. My cousin (who is Filipino and was born and raised in the Philippines) had a child in the Philippines and only sent her child to a school where they only taught English. So the child does NOT know Tagalog at all. That makes no sense! I am Filipino, born and raised in the States. My parents didn't teach me Tagalog and I am so resentful of that. Not knowing my parents' mother tongue is frustrating and sad. But seeing this video gives me hope.

korean woman pronounced it, and his pronunciation was based on the Philippine Alpabhet. and that is also the filipino tongue. " elementari" leter for leter
Just because people from diferrent nationalities/ethnicities want to learn Filipino doesn't mean they promote it more than "real" Filipinos. How about our (millions of) migrants and OFWs who teaches the language, food and culture to their peers and employers? How about Filipino TH-camrs (social media influencers) who works hard to create Filipino content? Lets not be too hard on ourselves. I speak in English not because I don't promote the Filipino language. I use it so that nonFilipino viewers can understand my message too.
Yup, she sounds very Fil-Am who kept their language. It's so doable talaga to keep both languages at nakaklungkot kapag may mga Pilipino akong namemeet na nakalimutan na daw nilang mag-Tagalog or mag salita ng ibang Philippine languages. No excuse talaga. It's either they hate their heritage and try to forget about it or they're lying. I understand kung lumaki sa ibang bansa and no one taught them, pero kung lumipat sa ibang bansa and the parents still use it, there's no exuces to simply "forget" about it. I grew up in the US and all my friends are non-Filipinos, but my parents made sure that I only use Tagalog at home or with them and my siblings. That's how I kept my language. I just use it. Tapos you have Pinoys in the Philippines who think they're too cool to speak the local languages and only speak this weird conyo Taglish that doesn't even make sense in English. Hirap mag purong English, hirap din mag purong Tagalog. Kakahiya and cringe lol
i aggree on never forget your own mother language, i was born in the philippines but i moved in Italy after two years, since then i could only hear my parents speaking tagalog, they still do ofc, but i realized that i can't talk tagalog like i did before, but i still can comprehend it. Now i'm learning Korean cause i felt inspired on learn new languages xD but watching at the video i realized that i really should relearn to speak tagalog D: seeing so many people from other nationalities speaking THAT WELL tagalog really inspired me haha also i should relearn French too oof

She's amazing and adorable. Saka si eunice may since of humor. Si ana at joan pang miss U.

Okay, all you lovely ladies in this video have pulled at my heartstrings. My eyes have welled up at hearing you all speak Tagalog so beautifully. As an American Filipino, born and raised in The US, I was lucky enough to be raised in a very traditional Filipino household. We removed our shoes before entering the house, ate all the delicious Filipino fare, and gave respect to our parents and elders. We just weren’t raised speaking Tagalog. My father was in the US Navy and my mother was a homemaker, but worked a full time job. They spoke fluent Tagalog to each other, as it was their mother language, but hardly ever spoke it to us, as children. I don’t think it was a conscience decision on their part, it just was, how it was. My siblings and I are very much in touch with our Filipino heritage, we just don’t speak the language. Now that my parents have both passed, it touches my heart to hear it spoken, and I’m trying to absorb as much of the language as I can. It’s almost music to my ears to hear. Kudos to all involved in this wonderful and poignant presentation. One question: With the exception of Maria born in Abu Dhabi and Eunice, who I believe was born and raised in the Philippines ,why do the rest of you speak English with a slight FIlipino accent? Did you learn English in the Philippines as well? It’s all beautifully spoken, and actually, I’m delighted to hear the accent , but Im fascinated to know! You should all be praised for being trilingual ( maybe some of you have even more languages in your repertoire) it’s such a wonderful gift. Thank you.You all bring the world so much closer together. ❤️
Appreciated their honest input/insights about learning different languages beside your mother toungue. Good advices!!! Stay safe and well. God bless🙏👏❤️
I don't know if this is true, but according to some things I read and knew before, the longest Filipino word of Filipino origin in dictionaries is a compound and polysynthetic Filipino word "pinakanakapagpapabagabag-damdamin" or "most worrisome or emotionally/mentally disturbing to one's emotion or feelings", of which the rest of the other syllables or group of syllables cannot stand-alone as a word on their own, except only for two root or base words within that word, which are "bagabag" (root or base word for some other Filipino words related to anxiety, worry, or emotional or mental disturbance) and "damdam" (root or base word for some other Filipino words related to feelings, emotions, sensation, perception, or mood).
Bart Esperida yes, Polysynthetic words are very very long as they are made up of multiple morphemes and inflections, Tagalog words are usually agglutinative which is why I’m surprised that we have polysynthetic words
That girl from Sudan is a vibe. And I'm just shocked to Eunice, I'm her fan and watched her vlogs, didn't expect her to see here. And all of them are good at speaking Tagalog.
Lol' even I'm a Filipino it's really hard for me, also to Speak the word " Nakakapagbagabag." HAHAHA lets promote our own Language, which is Filipino, just like what our National hero said before, ang Hindi magmahal sa sariling wika ay daig may sa Amoy ng malansang isDA, also isa alang alang natin yung sakripisyo ng aging mga pinuno, lider, at ninuno para lang magkaroon tayo ng sariling wika which is FILIPINO" no hate just love.. "MAHAL KO KAYO"
Grabe, ang tatas nila, Hahaha...... Btw the ate 'ganern' from Sudan is really like a Filipino and knows Hiligaynon and Bisaya!! Wooooww They're all amazing!
salute to those who knows more than 1 language, it's such a gift to be able to connect to a different culture by speaking their language. It is also very hard to learn another language so kudos to everyone out there who are bilingual/multilingual

LOUUUDDERRRR!!!!!!!! 🤧

I love how you just assumed that.
It makes me wonder if you’ve actually been exposed to other cultures personally at all.
another government problem
Just because people from diferrent nationalities/ethnicities want to learn Filipino doesn't mean they promote it more than "real" Filipinos. How about our (millions of) migrants and OFWs who teaches the language, food and culture to their peers and employers? How about Filipino TH-camrs (social media influencers) who works hard to create Filipino content? Lets not be too hard on ourselves. I speak in English not because I don't promote the Filipino language. I use it so that nonFilipino viewers can understand my message too.
The fluently is on point!! Specially in pronunciation. LOVE THEM! 💖💖

Nadale mo
i aggree on never forget your own mother language, i was born in the philippines but i moved in Italy after two years, since then i could only hear my parents speaking tagalog, they still do ofc, but i realized that i can't talk tagalog like i did before, but i still can comprehend it. Now i'm learning Korean cause i felt inspired on learn new languages xD but watching at the video i realized that i really should relearn to speak tagalog D: seeing so many people from other nationalities speaking THAT WELL tagalog really inspired me haha also i should relearn French too oof

Super Approve!
It’s amazing how fluent they are. Personalities too. Wow.
Salamat po
I didn't know we had polysynthetic words, I thought all were just agglutinative
Correction lang :
Pinakanakapagpapabagbagdamdamin.
♡♡♡
Bart Esperida yes, Polysynthetic words are very very long as they are made up of multiple morphemes and inflections, Tagalog words are usually agglutinative which is why I’m surprised that we have polysynthetic words
