Usually a fan of competition but Im a huge fan of these services going back to merging. Everybody charging a monthly fee for access to a few shows of interest on each service was getting ridiculous.
The Beta launched for me on Wednesday, the sixth. I think Disney likes to time big updates as closely as possible to the same days in a given month. It wouldn’t surprise me if Disney had the complete new app up and running on or around March 6. With a possibly staggered release schedule for individual customers around that date of March 6.
Great 👍 view of this information and notice. But question ❓, what will happen to those who would want only Hulu service (only content) and not Disney Plus? When they finally merged.
Got the yearly deal for .99 a month, wow so many ads it’s unwatchable, kinda like the content, even for this price will still cancel,it’s a shame, but owned by Disney should not be surprised.
Now they need to flip ESPN plus stuff added to Disney Plus and then move over Disney live channels that they own and only channels they own and then just kill the Hulu app. So one stop shop for the Disney stuff still have tiers for the back catalog and what ever it would cost to subscribe to the live TV portion. No need for 3 apps combine them.
Hulu has ESPN Plus live sports. Will Hulu continue to have sports or will I have to use the ESPN app? I have the Disney Plus bundle. The Hulu app has sports but not Hulu on Disney Plus.
This makes sense now. I never had hulu, so i finaly got to watch some shows ive wanted to for years. Watched the most recent season of Fargo, then realized that, through Disney, the most recent season is the ONLY season available. Was very confused.
I really don't understand the point of adding Hulu content to Disney+ since it only works if you subscribe to both. Is it really that difficult to change apps? I doubt I'll watch Hulu content in the Disney+ App very often, if at all.
Not really difficult to change apps but it is more convenient to have everything Disney+/Hulu in the one app so there is one less app to have to open. One reason I like using the Channels DVR app is because it combines OTA, Pay TV channels, and FAST channels all in one app.
Why is Peacock on your chopping block? It’s the only service I subscribe to. It has a lot of old shows I love to watch. Like Rosanne , King of Queens, The Middle, Scrubs, The office, Everybody Loves Raymond, live feed of Reelz TV for OPLive.. watch a lot of movies. Not crazy about most of their peacock content. I do ignore about 90% of the rest of the content.
@@toby7291 .. I guess it depends on what you like to watch. A lot of what you described is available on YTTV through the recording or VOD. I prepaid for the Peacock for the year but the ad free is monthly so that's what would be canceled. Here's the problem in the nutshell, there are far too many streaming services with far too little content for the money they charge. Many of these services literally have gone up 200% over the last 12 months and for no good reason. Quite frankly, if I had to just pick one paid service, it probably would be TH-cam Premium. I've had my fill of news and especially the outright uncontrolled lies in social media. We're heading towards a theocracy _(especially laughable when you have some bozo holding a Bible upside down not to mention a complete narcissist)_ if not an outright dictatorship. If you think it's a grand idea, spend a few months in Russia under Putin's thumb. As it is, the United States has been an Oligarchy for the past 25 to 30 years. I've been a Republican probably longer than you've been alive. I understand the shows you mentioned.
I have never seen any content on Hulu which was on Disney Plus, but I’ve been watching a show that was on Nickelodeon called Hey, Arnold!. If I had seen dozens of episodes on Disney Plus like A.N.T. Farm, Gabby Duran, Kim Possible, Amphibia, Secrets of Sulphur Springs and so many others, I would rather watch content like Family Guy and Rugrats.
One thing I noticed is that the Marvel content that was on Hulu but not Disney Plus, hasn't been added to the Marvel section of Disney Plus. For e.g. The Blade Trilogy. It's a minor thing, but I hope they fix it.
The Blade films are co-productions between Warner Brothers, through their New Line Cinema label and Marvel. I don’t know all of the ins and outs of that, but that could have something to do with why the movies aren’t officially under the Marvel brand on Disney+.
Does this mean that my account at Hulu now transfers to Disney Plus? I noticed when I tried to vote for Dancing with the Stars that now it's just one account to use ABC, ESPN, Disney Plus, and so on.
Seems stupid to half-ass it. More work for them to have it available on both apps (since from the description they're having to "move stuff over"). It'd be more economically sound to have a fully integrated app for all of their services, including live, and then only having the content a person is paying for show up in the one unified app. Only maintaining one set of shows and only supporting one app codebase.
Has Pluto TV launched it's new user interface anywhere yet? It's still the old UI on my Nvidia Shield (Android TV). I haven't seen video of the new UI.
What I don’t understand is why is the Live tv part of HULU not going to be part of this change? Also several of the channels are not included on the Disney app listing. TCM and NFL network, STARZ etc. I do realize these channels are LIVE channels, however TCM (Turner Classic Movies) has On Demand streaming. It seems to me it’s counterproductive to not have the complete HULU listings if DISNEY+ is taking over HULU. Seems it will be confusing to those of us who like to watch a few of the Live Channels and On Demand from these channels…! Maybe I’m missing something. My other issue is I have had Disney+ and HULU for years, and I’ve tried several times to have them bundled and I’m still paying for each…! I must be getting old, well I am actually, yet I thought I thought I understood this……Guess I don’t. Thanks for the video…!

I've got netflix (I miss the dvd's), amazon prime, and paramount+. All currently ad-free. When amazon starts shoving the ads to the regular prime movies/tv next year, I will see how bad the experience is before I kick in the $3. Still pretty shitty for them to do what with all the money we pay (and no longer getting 2-day delivery times). I think paramont+ has ads since I have to hit the PLAY button on the screen 3 times before whatever I selected starts. Thank goodness for the you-know-what-blockers. But the other thing that ticks me off and has ever since I had various PREMIUM channels on Directv 15 year ago is the appearance of channel logos on said premium channels. HBO, CINEMAX, and SHOWTIME all started slapping their logos on the screen not just during the time you are looking at the guide, but during actual content. Putting stuff on the screen is editing the content and they all said 'we do not edit the content.' So by 2010, I canceled the entire directv account (getting laid off didn't really allow me to keep paying anyway). Sure, you couldn't complain when non-premium channels had their logos on the screen, but pretty soon watching them was like trying to find Waldo on your screen. It was like 'where is the content?' You had logos, the channel name, and then even hashtags, and full-on sentences like "new episode of mythbusters is coming up tomorrow!" So for channels like hulu, if I am going to pay anything for them, sure there might be ads at a certain payment tier, but I never want to see logos, etc on the screen during content regardless of the payment tier.
But...Pluto TV has commercials. All of those FAST channels have commercials. The "AS" in FAST stands for "ad supported". All live TV has commercials because commercials pay for the shows. And all of the On-Demand services like Disney+, Netflix, Max and Prime Video offer ad-free packages. They just cost extra. No TV is totally free. Either the sponsors pay for the shows, or you do. Maybe the problem is that you're just cheap.
