Beyond bundling, what’s one thing you want to see platforms introduce to make streaming easier?

All my watch history from Hulu standalone app don’t show up in the Disney app

Yea, that is an unfortunate oversight on their part. And, honestly, it's not surprising as they've not been known to deal with their known tech issues very well. That said, like we mentioned, what you watch on the respective apps will influence recommendations on the other, It's certainly not perfect, so it is what it is sadly.

Hi John help me understand something ok it's not on topic with this video. But why are ads so pertinent in this generation? Who watches a commercial and says that's it Jill I know your going to be mad at me but I saw that tide commercial now I'm running down to the store and buy it. Because the commercial told me to. Wouldn't you love to meet that yahoo that will only buy something because of a commercial? Isn't it more likely the opposite will happen that you will buy a competitors product. Because the commercial interrupted your program. It's actually the national ads that bother me the most. I believe John your about my age if we don't know what McDonald's or Coke is we have to be living under a rock. If we haven't gone to McDonald's or drank Coke at this stage call me crazy we probably aren't going to. Also none of these commercials are that pursuasive to even dent of believes if we aren't buying the product already.

Ha, we get it. We've both been in marketing for the better part of two decades and don't like most ads. It's the medical ones I (John) dislike the most because they're typically longer and then you get to listen to all of the side effect issues. That said, ads are prevalent, generally speaking, because they work. If they didn't, companies wouldn't be spending cash in droves on them. I totally get your point re: McD's or Coke, and it's a valid one. However, there's an argument to be made that if they stopped altogether people would forget about them, thus the spending. There's a science behind the ads, to be sure, and many companies use that to drive the spending, approach, etc etc.

@@FrugalRules there's one type of commercial I do appreciate though which we sadly don't get too often the mom's and pop's type telling us about a restaurant nearby that we really may not know about and will become our favorite once we learn about it or that new sports store we won't want to leave once we know it exists

@@fitfighter24 Yep, it's good to see those types of ads every once in awhile.

@@FrugalRulesHi John here's the one thing I never understood is if sponsors want you to buy their products so much why aren't certain companies buying entire programs? Say maybe 2 or 3 giant advertisers purchase the program. Because here's the thing even if viewer's care to buy some of the products they see commercials for a humans attention span is so short. That they won't remember what ads they even saw. Especially in linear TV programs. There's like 5 or 6 ad breaks all of them a minimum of 2 minutes. But most push towards 5 straight minutes. With most of them independent individual commercials each time. Now sure you and I may remember the commercials with catchy jingle's and characters like State Farm and Jake. However 90% of the ads would couldn't remember even if someone paid us to list all the ads we saw.

I like it….the original bundle was a good deal and now every form of content is in one place, there’s so much to see that people will never leave. If that was the intention, it put Disney + on the level of Max with its huge library and as people have noticed with the new Hulu Originals, it allows them to compete with Netflix and Amazon.
