I am a Polio survivor, caught it in 1950 aged 9 months, it was also known as Infantile Paralysis. How times have changed, back then I was placed in isolation for 10 weeks my parents only allowed to look at me through a glass viewing panel , it was a three bus journey from our house to the Isolation Hospital. Because of work and family commitments my parents could only visit at weekends to get updates on my condition . There was a bulletin board in a glass case on the Town Hall wall where updates on your condition were displayed against the number you had been allocated, my Dad would get the bus to here for the latest info on me in between weekend visits. Fortunately I remember absolutely none of this , but I do remember wearing a Calliper for 12 years , prolonged stays in hospital , six operations of corrective surgery on my leg and countless sessions of Physiotherapy . I walk with a limp , have a thin left leg , my spine is not straight but I consider myself to be one of the lucky ones , some of the other children I met on my stays in hospital were far worse than me and I often wonder if they are still alive and how they are coping. Polio did not stop me having a full and successful working career , I married have children and grandchildren so I feel blessed.
Hoe horrible of a disease and amazing that you survives and now live a happy life. Ik hope many people will read and hear about the horrors of polio before they are infected themselves
To a good approximate, polio is relative harmless to true infants. It's a true "middle class" disease and when infants get it they usually have a stomach ache and then recover. When they get it later, the consequences are severe as you can testify.
@@GilmerJohn How can you write such lies? Babies can be infected with polio from birth in countries where it is still prevalent. It can and does kill babies and infants.
I had it in 1953. I can remember the big glass window in the isolation room but, thankfully, can't remember the trauma of being taken from my parents at 3 years old. Apparently I cried whenever they came to visit so they had to hide to see me so I did not see them for weeks. 72 now, active life, post-polio syndrome now. We survivors tend to just keep going but it does get hard. I fear for those with long COVID.

He is scaremongering again mate. These viruses have always been here in the sewage, the thing is before Sars covid2 NOTHING WAS BEING LOOKED FOR AND SINCE COVID NOW THEY ARE LOOKING AND THEY ARE FINDING THINGS. tHIS IS NOT NEW NEWS TO ME AS MY PROFFESSOR, pROF.VINCENT RACANIELLO DONE MOST OF HIS WORK ON POLIO IN THE 70S AND IS WORLD RENOWNED FOR HIS WORK ON POLIO, He HAS BEEN TELLING US FOR YEARS NOW THAT POLIO IS IN MOST PEOPLES STOMACH BUT DUE TO THE VACCINE BEING SO EFFICIENT NOBODY DIES OR GETS ILL FROM IT NOW EXCEPT IN THE 3 COUNTRIES IT IS ENDEMIC.
I myself had polio in1962 , paralyzed from the waist down . Luckily I made a full recovery , but it took 2 years . I was 5 years old at the time , many of children at the hospital were not so fortunate . God bless them 🙏
I had polio in 1949. It left me with paralysis in my right leg and weakness down my right side. As my hobby is portrait painting the worst thing for me was when I temporarily lost the use of my right thumb 20 years ago! It is lucky for me that I have always enjoyed challenges!
No and they would be right not too. The world is vaccination mad? Like how did we exist in filth and grime for time and memorial? This guy is a vaccinated shill. Ignore him and go watch something happy. Prove the jabs aren’t making people ill?
The combination of appearance of viruses over the past 2,5 years leaves one, like me, with a strange feeling. Good, having someone like Dr Campbell to set thing straight.
It is not the appearance of viruses, it is how much it is reported. (Which in turn is at least slightly influenced by how easy/possible it now is to test for, and then sequence on the slightest suspicion. Just ~10-20 years ago, with swine flu and the original sars, we had remarkably less capability and capacity than we do today, so those epidemics were much more reported on the basis of clinical cases, not broad surveillance. Now it is not only nerds, but also general journalists who are aware of surveillance and sentinel programs and such, so they report on it. Pre-covid what flu and cold strains popped up in surveillance, what exact polio was in the sewage was very much only of interest to a few nerdy people, 99% virologists or epidemiologists. I happened to get interested in the topic somewhere around 2006, and it is funny how niche interests have become mainstream these last two years.)
My mother was caught in that big polio outbreak when she was 17. She was put in plaster from her neck down and ended in a wheelchair. She was told she would never walk again or have children but my mother was a determined person. She graduated to two crutches and then to two walking sticks and finally to one stick. She married and had 4 children and became a foster mother. I grew up thinking it was normal for my first job of the day being to fit my mother's metal caliper on her leg. At the end of her life she had post-polio syndrome with scoliosis (double curvature of the spine) and died in her mid eighties after a very successful life.
As a teenager I helped look after a 12-year-old girl who contracted Polio aged 2. She was wheelchair bound, her limbs virtually useless. It broke her father who never recovered from the fact that his bonnie little girl, walking and talking and developing normally until struck down by this terrible disease. She died aged 16. I often think of her. Thank you so much John for your informative, down to earth videos. God Bless you.
One more reason you look after what polio really is. No virus ever was isolated and proven to cause. On the other hand many poisons were proven to cause it, pesticides, heavy metals. I went paralyzed for a leg after Sabin drops. You people are totally ignorant. Lemmings, read The Poisoned Needle, it has the story of the US polio epidemic, aka DDT poisoning. Cambell you tool, shame on you.
As usual the very highest of standards upheld on this channel, providing an upfront summery before the detail just lifting the professionalism way beyond the You Tube base line. Thank you Dr Campbell.
Sir, I've been watching your videos for roughly 2 months now. I just wanted to express my thanks for your straight forward reporting and analysis, in language that is easily understandable. Thank you sir.
I'm so glad to have found this channel, run by someone who speaks to us like adults and does not use scare tactics. The most devastating thing about the last 2+ years is our permanent loss of trust in the larger medical and scientific communities, which will undoubtedly do great harm when a legitimate warning sounds like another grift to a lot of people.
Agreed, I almost entirely ignore the mainstream media and all the medical associations now. The constant ridiculous bleatings and blatant dishonesty over covid have shown these groups up for what they are. It's refreshing to hear from someone who can be trusted and respected. You can't say that about the media, the government, the health organisations or the pharmaceutical companies...
My husband and I were just talking about this last night. Through personal health challenges over the years and now the pandemic it has all made me lose ALL trust in the medical community. I can recognize that it is dangerous because if there were to be a serious health threat, I would not listen and would not trust anything they are saying.
@@purpledol8455 Unfortunately, you'd probably be right NOT to trust them. Although more medical staff (with ethics) are setting up actual health centres outside of the system, they have to be private and user-paid, and although likely much less expensive than the US chains, probably quite a number of us simply couldn't afford them. But if you can, that might be something to check out, see what might be in your area, as increasing numbers seem to to be in the works/starting up.
Living in London, I have seen the landscape change incredibly, Eastern Europeans, Nepalese, Africans, it’s incredible how many people are being packed in to London, flats are everywhere now..
Polio was the terror of families during the summers in the US until the Salk vaccine. One thing people forget about polio is how many infants it killed, under its own, specific name: *_infantile paralysis._* My father lost 3 siblings, all under the age of 2 (and was, himself, a survivor), back before the vaccine. There were areas of the rural South of the US that seemed to have been marked out by polio myelitis as "its" territory. The too-often repeated, dreaded scene of *rows of iron lungs and their captive children* is something no one should forget: polio's worst effects were, in some ways, more horrendous than death, itself. Dr. Salk and his vaccine liberated humanity from this terror.
Older generations remember. I'm Gen X and knew of family members who had it and some who died from it. It's those tiny tots who came after that don't know about it. Surprisingly, it must not be taught in school.
It wasn't just babies who died though. My grandma told me about the polio vaccine rollout. She remembers being so scared to get it but also happy that she wouldn't have to be terrorized by polio anymore. The local high school was doing free vaccines after school and her beat friend was too scared it would hurt and wouldn't go. She died of polio that summer. It really affected my grandma
Excellent informative, balanced and well researched presentation. Thank you. This is a very typical example of why your channel and your indispensable lectures that are the most informative that are available online today.
How about the outbreak that happened in India in recent years? The one that was caused by some shots being handed out….. by a certain Foundation….. that India wanted to bring up Human Rights abuse charges…
Thanks Dr Campbell it's scary how excited the media get with these things. If they reported news without the scaremongering we might of kept on listening. I know a lady who survived Polio and she's one of the kindest and strongest humans I know. Thanks for an informative video Dr Campbell.
To understand WHY the BBC for example are 100% scaremongering about everything thelast 3 years ..... look into the B & M Gtes Found8tion giving the BBC private company called Media Action almost £1.6 BILLION
Thanks for all your videos mate. You're one of the few people who speak with clarity and common who is only interested in educating the layman without all the scaremongering. You're a good man with a good heart.
Always watching your channel for the right information, thanks for sharing your excellent work. People in the UK should apply for you a royal award by the Queen for all the wonderful work you do for all of us. You really earn this!!!
it's more virus bs , scaremongering . The polio virus has never been isolated , the polio disease is caused by metalloid / lead arsenic poisoning but was blamed on a virus to sell BILLIONS & BILLIONS & BILLIONS of polio VACCINES .to make $$$$$$$BILLIONS . I bet the polio virus was "found" by using the PCR scam "test ", yes the same "test "used to find the alleged covid SARScov2 virus , which has also never been isolated .
Interesting how *polio* contains the words *poo* *lip* *pool* *loop* *oil* invented by a transgender & intentionally paralyzed over 200,000 children in April 1955 thru Cutter!
The oral live vaccine is given to babies by mouth, babies poo contains the virus and then an adult changes the diaper, the adult (if not fully vaccinated) could get polio, doesn’t always mean you’ll get serious polio but it’s hardly worth the risk now when you can get the inactive injectable. Third world countries, if they vaccinate at all often use the polio ‘sip’ or oral live vaccine. Hope that helps.
My dad had polio as a child, it caused one of his legs to become smaller than the other but it Never stopped him from doing what he wanted. He became successful and lived life to its fullest…
I remember standing in the hot summer sun for hours to get a drop of polio vaccine on a sugar cube. That was the early 1960s. It was so important to my parents who had witnessed outbreaks when they were young.
Fear is a powerful motivator. Successor polio vaccines would go on to cause millions of cases, leading to the worst polio outbreak India has seen in modern history.
There was also many polio vaccines that were contaminated with a genes from the rhesus monkey. While the CDC claims it doesn't cause cancer, the DNA is found within cancerous tumors so don't read too much into that apparently. It is also true that many polio vaccines were tainted and thousands of children caught polio from the vaccine.
Thanks Dr. Campbell for this important information. Brought up in Long Island, New York in the 50’s as a “baby boomer” their was never a shortage of kids to play with on each block. I’ll never forget all of us standing in line in the elementary school awaiting our turn for the shot. Looking at those very large metal syringes it was terrifying. One little boy on my block pitched a fit as his brother took the shot, he did not and in the fall when the school bus stopped to pick us up we all saw Johnny as his mom wheeled him to the stop as his brother boarded. Those heavy braces with the leather straps looked tortuous. I think of Johnny often and what he went through. Just the word Polio sends shivers up my spine.

One of the most damaging things about Covid I think will be vaccine hesitancy increasing in the populace because of how poorly it was handled, particularly in the US, Canada, and Australia. Vaccines are major reason for the average life expectancy being in the 70s these days in developed Western Nations instead of 40-60 like in most 3rd world countries...
I am in my early fifties and I remember, growing up in the 70s and 80s, older folks who were polio survivors. They would have one leg in a permanent heavy caliper like you describe. I recall my parents telling me about polio and how many children got it and either died or ended up in calipers for life. Very brutal-looking disability aids back then with zero attention given to aesthetics unlike now. They marked people out, and obviously attitudes to disability were way more discriminatory back then. I recall an older friend of my dad's who was hugely bitter as a person because of his polio-derived disabilities. He never married and had some real issues that I think were all derived from the effects of his disability.
when i was 27 I had a new GP and he picked up that my polio was missing in my records . he booked me in the following day to have it . Thank you for your work .
not facts , but lies & propaganda . Polio started when the chemical industry invented lead arsenate insecticide poison aka DDT , which was sprayed onto crops & directly onto people & animals . But in 1955 they blamed the poiliomyelitis disease on a new poilo virus they claimed that they'd discovered , so they could sell BILLIONS of vaccines to make $$$$$$ BILLIONS . He's promoting & pushing the vaccines
Thanks for restoring my faith in allopathic medicine one video at a time Dr. Campbell. Seriously this is ultra placating. You've spent more time treating me than any doctor involved in my sphere of care over the course of my entire life.
@@CB-os4lf Well that is just statistically incorrect. The government is still majority white so perhaps your concerns may be better aimed at the people who actually make decisions and treat the British public (regardless of colour) like play things. So true. The past few yrs have been awful. My OCD and anxiety seemed to always revolve around health issues the most and I'm getting to the point I may need to seek a bit of therapy. In a position of knowing I need assistance but also knowing the majority of providers are ineffective at best.

I absolutely love your channel. I started watching during the beginning of the pandemic and now I pretty much watch all your videos, even those not related to Covid. I've learned so much from you! Thank you Dr. Cambell -- Nate from Washington State, USA.
Thank you Dr. John for your straightforward approach in presenting this information. I passed this on to my Rotary Club Polio Lead and she was surprised that this had not made their weekly update. Maybe mention Rotary in the UK/London becoming super active in elevating that 86% vaccinated. Thank you again for all your hard work.
I was on the cusp of the Salk and Sabin vaccines, receiving the first doses from my family doctor and the Sabin vaccine as a first-grader at age 6 from the same doctor (mass immunization push in our public schools, and he had the contract with our school district). It turns out that my father was next thing to ecstatic about the vaccines. He lived in terror of my brother and me contracting polio. Although he didn't like the designation, Jonas Salk was a true hero.
I no longer believe it is ineptitude. The change of name of Public Health England could have become Public Health of the World in England, rather than it now being the UK Health Security Agency. That should be changed to UK Health Insecurity Agency.

I wish those poor people in said countries had the ability to become free of such a hideous disease. Be safe everyone.

@@poopie6205 we are driving the tyranny. When you learn the Spanish flu wasn’t Spanish at all just another global reset carried out by Rockefeller medicine and Gates senior. Here we are again Rockefeller medicine and Billy Gates following his families tradition.
The real question about reported cases of Polio is how many were actually Polio, and how many were Polio-like syndrome, which especially in the 50s far outnumbered actual Polio cases, due to DDT.
This was detected in sewerage. Poloo is still found in Africa, thanks to Bill Gates and his new vaccine that paralysed so many children. Understandably, a lot of parents are very reluctant to allow their children to be vaccinated.
People are mingling more often. We have more travel, more cross community interaction. A hundred years ago, a pathogen in one part of the world would take decades to reach another part of the world. Now it takes days.

I would be worried that the anti-vax mentality of recent years could be applied to a limited reintroduction of the polio vax. Polio generally presents with flu-like symptoms. Only about .5% actually have some form of paralysis. So, why worry about vax?
The last couple of year the healthcare system fucked itself over...grouping everybody who refused the covid vax into antivaxxers. Forcing ppl to take the vaccine. It was just a huge mess....still is.
We only need to look at Afghanistan and other countries which are now under control from backward, extremist 'governments'. The US had a narrow squeak only recently in that respect, but individual States are still at risk.
When my parents, who are both 83 years old, were invited to their first Covid vaccine injection early in 2021, they asked me whether I had received my invitation yet. I told them that I had no intention of taking it. I said to them at the time that I thought within a year or two we would begin to see the appearance of novel diseases and the re-appearance of old diseases. They dismissed my fears. To be fair to them, they have both had their 2 shots plus the booster and are fine as I speak. But so am I without having taken even the 1st shot, so it's hard to say at the moment who made the right decision.
I think you did. A Swedish study suggests that the mRNA vaccines have caused all-cause mortality to rise. It suggests the vaccines weaken our resistance/immunity to all other diseases as well.
@@tinatang1 Hi tina, would you have a link for that study. Would like to read about it. Its really bothering me hearing about the re- appearance of ancient old diseases. Sigh..

I had to go through physical therapy two years ago and there were three of us in there and we all had been diagnosed with post polio syndrome because as children we had had the polio. It didn't cripple us but we all have scoliosis and now that we're in our seventies we're all struggling with the aftermath of it. I don't like hearing the word polio at all. And it makes me nervous that it's even at a level that it's detectable in the storage.
@@sharronsmith8817 what I meant to say was that the article in the paper was trying to scare people, it was a ridiculous headline, just sensationalist.
I remember having my polio "booster" before starting school in England in summer 1962. I was given a cube of sugar to eat infused with the vaccine, so maybe I was one of the first to be given the oral one. I remember wondering why there was so much talk among the parents and aunts about this lump of sugar we were given before we could start school - after seeing Dr John's video I realise it was a new thing that year and that's why everyone was talking about it.
It was tested on kids for a few years before it was put out for everyone saw this on "Call the Midwife" it was considered quite a wonderful miracle shot so you may have been in the test group
When you look at the history of the polio vaccines, it’s not the safe and effective wonderful story book tale we’re told. It was debated, and later well understood that interventions including IM injections and tonsillectomies performed during enterovirus outbreaks were responsible for paralysis, and could have been avoided. The wide success of those first rollouts of the Salk vaccine were argued in Congress in the US to have resulted from changes in reporting and classification of poliovirus. And not unlike today, reports of children falling ill or dying were not widely covered by the media, and we later learned that simian viruses found in those vaccines potentially caused increased cancer rates, not only for those who received it, but for generations after them. We’ve also ignored cases of transverse myelitis and other paralysis attributed to enteroviruses, while seemingly rare, were spiking in the late summer and fall in school aged children. And finally, perhaps these groups who attacked people coming into their villages had heard the stories of mass vaccination campaigns leaving more children paralyzed, and they were being given a version of the vaccine that has not been routinely given in the US in over 30 years.
My husband had polio as a child. He was later diagnosed with post polio syndrome. He passed away from multiple ischemic strokes. After doing 3 tours in Vietnam, his brain was ravaged. He was in his early fifties. Polio is no joke.
Well, no one is saying that polio is a joke. But I am very suspicious about these diseases emerging so soon after the Covid scare has waned because people had had enough of it. I hope they won't ask to get another polio shot since I don't want to be over vaccinated.

It is lucky for me that I have always enjoyed challenges!

rona, moneypox, small pox, polio....... nothing to see here! Someone is benefitting and its not general public
Likely weaken of immunity by something. We are see monkeypox, polio hiv std etc.
The combination of appearance of viruses over the past 2,5 years leaves one, like me, with a strange feeling.
Good, having someone like Dr Campbell to set thing straight.
This one is from Africa and it has never been eradicated from those countries. Nothing too concerning ... it's not new.

Bless her. Can you imaging how the snowflake generation would cope?
Thanks for sharing your mother's story!
Hello Christine how are you doing hope you're doing great with your family may God bless you
@Clyde2 This link has nothing to do with polio.
Yes, Palace, I agree!
Yup, they cried wold on a puppy... turned us into lab rats. I will never put a vavcine in my body

A lot of people who had infantile polio in the '50s like myself now we're struggling with post polio syndrome
We are vaxed in America school requirements. But border crosses into the United States 🇺🇸 are NOT
If only the Covid Vaccines were half as good as the Polio one...

"large metal syringes"..... I was happy to get the oral polio vaccination on a piece of sugar back in the 80th in Germany.

Sigh..
@@tinatang1 I am Swedish and I haven’t read or heard about this study. I want to know about the study, the authors. 🇸🇪
@@tinatang1 A vaccine doesn’t weaken the immune system, it makes it stronger against the specific virus, it doesn’t have any effect on the immune system in general.

I always watch your videos twice believe many do ! Your informative videos proven always very important! We appreciate your concise articulate accurate reports ! Can't Thank you enough ! ❤️
It seems to me that most of the people commenting Dr Cambell's videos have never watched the videos
@@martypoll I've watched him for years . He's a brilliant teacher . I've learnt a lot ! I appreciate him !
Atypical Polio, aka M.E. Never went away, I've had it for 25 years. Would love to know your thoughts on that one Dr John
I have relatives who talk about the rich family that had an iron lung at home for their child. She could lie in it by the window and watch other kids go by. Polio is a terrible disease.
Thanks for the info. Love ur channel been getting great info from u for a few years now. Best most well explained useful video i watch. Love the quick synopsis because I don't always have the time to watch it all but want the info. Ur the best thank you again
Morning. Thanks for your updates. Look forward to them. 💕🙏🏻
I look forward to my morning constitution more than Dr Campbell, but that’s just me.
Another mystery scientists can't explain. I can.
I'll bet you can't.
I bet he can! Give him a shot.
Go on then!
@@theredboneking it's you again lol, I'd give him a fair few fookin shots but it's the hijab is the most lethal these day....
@@clifftaylor8416 something that give the immune system a right good kicking so it can't suppress or fight off certain viruses. What could that be.
💙 Absolutely Love You Dr John Campbell 💕 Thank You For Today's Blessings God Bless 🙏🏽🕊️🧞♂️🇭🇲🇬🇧🇵🇳
Thank you. The headlines in the paper is ' Polio virus is spreading in England, ' which is quite scary. It's good to hear a calm explanation.
Not scary at all, wake up - Convid, Moneypox and now Polio
@@sharronsmith8817 what I meant to say was that the article in the paper was trying to scare people, it was a ridiculous headline, just sensationalist.
@@jillyc8589 Fear p0rn is everywhere these days.
It's disgusting the way media goes about things.
Thanks for your consideration in giving us quick footnotes at the beginning. Very helpful.
And finally, perhaps these groups who attacked people coming into their villages had heard the stories of mass vaccination campaigns leaving more children paralyzed, and they were being given a version of the vaccine that has not been routinely given in the US in over 30 years.
the big problem is that we distrust government and (pharmaceutical)corporations after years of lying.
Enjoy your DDT.
@Ann-Marie Paliukenas Thank you so very very. He lived a very interesting life. And he is missed. Polio gave him many complications later in his life. He had polio when he was 3 years old.,1950. His mother told me they had to place a sign on their front door stating they were quarantined due to polio. She told me ,even close friends wouldn't come near her, no one would help them do to fear of catching polio. Very sad.
@@theredboneking what is DDT?
@@Hope-qi4bf I believe it was the reason for all these “polio “ problems!
Thank you for this interesting video (I have a younger brother named John) This brought back memories of standing in line outside the nurse's office with all the other kids waiting for the sugar cube with the pink liquid(I think that was the Sabin polio vaccine) We were very grateful and considered it a miracle Someone I knew had polio and trouble walking She could still dance though so every summer her mother used to put up strings of brightly colored lights and invite all the kids to come over and listen to 45 rpm's and dance I admire anyone who can work in health care I started out in the field and couldn't take it-wound up in the looney bin (not for long-and that was a very long time ago)
Like that you always give the facts strait to the point no politics involved. Been watching for a long time now. Thank you
There was a lot of talk at one time of polio being caused by DDT.
It clearly is. The three countries they mention, Nigeria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, have until very recently been using DDT for either Malaria control or farm use (it is still available despite being banned, old stocks).
In the USA, the graph of DDT usage and polio are identical. I cannot provide links because I’m a bad boy.
DDT is a chemical compound. Polio is a virus. One cannot cause the other. Any correlation is irrelevant
@ The polio virus has never been purified and isolated.
@ DDT toxicity causes the symptoms that are falsely attributed to polio e.g. paralysis.
Thank goodness for you, I appreciate this thank you,. The media make you feel anxious about these things. My elderly neighbour survived polio, but spent many years in a wheelchair, that said she had a fantastic life. I think I can remember I had a vaccine orally when I was at school. I left school in 1986.
Hello Lucinda how are you doing hope you're doing great with your family may God bless you more
