Valencia! I have my first potential client and I’m automatically overwhelmed. I donated a balloon garland to my sons rec center and they want something similar done for prom. They kept asking me how much, how much!? I told her give me your number, we’ll talk more and I’ll let you know🤣🤣 and now I’m here trying to figure things out. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. I truly appreciate it. ❤

Omg it's so crazy that we overhere trying to be affordable but ppl just don't get it. I'm doing garlands under $100 and thinking ppl are not gonna hire me because of that. But yes everything costs us and we don't even realize we're basically working for free. I see other businesses charging that much and just thought they were expensive but nope. Thanks, I'm just starting and so glad I saw your video!!

My gosh people don’t think like that they just think balloons !!! That’s it like they don’t think about materials the time it took, gas, install, ect… I get ghosted 👻 after I give them a price they don’t want to pay over $200-$300 I had clients even want me to go lower like under $100 that’s a joke!!!! I struggle with this like I wish I had the good clients that would understand

No need to feel sick or overly nervous. I suggest you start practicing with inexpensive Amazon balloons at home to get your technique down (save the quality balloons for your clients). I like using multiple sizes of balloons but it all depends on your client's personal taste and the design they are requesting. Do what you feel is best for the design and don't be afraid to be creative.

For example, if you have to buy new packs of the colors they are requesting do you charge them the full cost even if you don’t use all the balloons? Also, if you have the balloon colors in stock how do you figure the cost? Sorry, I’m so new to this and I want to be fair with my self and clients 😅

    • @valsballoonsandbusiness

I charge for the cost of each bag of balloons i buy or use for the event. It doesn't matter if I use all the balloons because I never know the exact number in each bag I may use. Plus, it's just easier to charge by the bag.

Personally, I would not book a venue. Are there any family or friends you can decorate for free if they cover the cost of materials? You can always do setups in your home or go to a park and set up a backdrop and balloons for a photo shoot. Also, try practicing with Amazon balloons like party woo until you get your first clients. It's best to be as cost effective as possible when getting started

@@valsballoonsandbusiness firstly, thank you for such a swift response. 🫶🏾 but the family/friends are so cheap 🤣 they complain about prices of my baked goods, so I’m not even going to bother with them honestly. I just downsized for a quick moment on our home a few months ago, so I will try the park route. Thanks for that suggestion! I have been using balloons from Amazon for every birthday party for my daughter. I decorate pretty well but never get photos because by time I’m done, I’m exhausted and be ready for it to be over with 😅 but I’m going to start taking myself and talents more seriously this year for sure. Thank you again! ❤️

I'm in California too and was considering getting my llc.. so you're saying every year I would have to pay $800 at tax time for having an llc? If so I may wait a while longer.

Yes. You have to pay an $800 franchise fee just to operate an llc in California. I believe the first year of business you may get it waived.

What was that bit about paying $10 month for cricut vinyls? 😮

Cricut design space is $11 a month. This is the corresponding app that allows you to create the designs/lettering that you're going to cut

Charge your fee for labor (hourly Rate X time it takes to do the decor). Also, charge for travel
