Great video, Frank! Can't wait for my Super55 to arrive, although being it's winter now, I'm actually thinking I'm going to have to wait 'till spring to prep and paint it - which means I can't use it 'till then... or something. Dangit. We'll see...
Hey there! I've been watching your videos a lot lately, and they've got me wanting to order a kit in a few months. Anyways, I heard you mention lacquer thinner, and that reminded me of the old barrels we have of that at work. We just send them away to be recycled because we're too scared to cut into them, being used for the flammable liquid they are. Anyways, I wondered if you had any tips on cutting one open and what to do about cleaning it, or should I just order a fresh barrel from you for safety's sake?
Do you think electrostatic coating paint is food safe? Someone is selling a nice 60 gal offset smoker 1/4" thick steel for 600usd but the coating is my only concern.
Great! So now we know how to paint a trash can. Can we call you Captain Obvious. I mean who really needs a kit to build a trash can smoker much less a video explaining how to paint it? 😂
@@SmokerBuilder Seems obvious lol I genuinely couldn't find a real answer on Google, everything said enamel high heat paint was fine but I was suspicious , do you recommend always keeping the whole inside of grills etc raw ? Can you direct me to one of your vids explaining how to season with oil is it just getting it super hot then using olive oil or fish oil?
I can’t wait for this one. Awesome
Great video Frank! Going to start building a few drums myself so this information was great to know! Keep the good videos coming buddy
Awesome! Thanks!

Can you paint grills and hot plates with high heat enamel or does it have to be raw to cook off?
great question it actually needs to be raw or coated with a food safe oil and seasoned.
