Might want to look into the real life version of the Supervan 3. It is was actual a racing car with a tranzit body panel. Oh and when they raced it, it had a Formula 1 engine in it. After taking it off the track they would let regular people see it with a select few allowed to actual drive it. However since they where going to let regular people drive it they took out the 700+ hp engine and put a 300hp engine in it. You know for safety reasons as most regular people might have struggled to drive a Formula 1 powered car safely. In any case it's only slow (without changing some parts of course) because they copied the cut back version for the game.
Was a rebody of supervan 2. As you say basically an F1 car with a transit style body on it. . The original supervan was a bit of a beast based on a GT40 . There is also a MK4 rally transit and a long wheel base MK3 with Jag XJ220 under pinnings and engine and that one is road legal .
Animal tvi Supervan 2 was actually based on a Ford C100 which was a Group 6/C which had a Cosworth DFL F1 (later an HB as Supervan 3) engine. It was F1 powered, but not an F1 car underneath necessarily.
the original super van 3 had a v8 in it (think it had around 500-550hp) but when ford retired it from demos they put the 300hp v6 that it comes with in the game to slow it down. one of the v8 swaps for the van in the game is the v8 that ford originally built it with. so there's potential for the van to be even faster whilst still 'stock'
I do remember you doing a Lucky Dip once where someone got one of those Donkervoorts, and you said something like "We have a Reventon that's pretty sensible, a couple of Aston Martins that are vaguely sensible and a Donkervoort that in a brief dragrace we did, didn't go straight for the entire time." Man, this thing literally shocked me the other day in a S2 class online race. There were 4 of them all owned by some players in the same team and i was driving a Vulcan AMR Pro, one of the best out there in this class... I literally (and everyone else) got obliterated in many tracks 😵
As someone who played Blur religiously back in 2011-2012, when I saw this van was added in Horizon 4 it was a truly orgasmic feeling. Now I just need the Hennessey Viper Venom and I can die happily.

Interesting that the Shelby was coming close and had massively greater grip than the others. The GT350 was one of the default cars you could select from during the FH3 opening introduction, and it felt overgrippy then. Methinks that the Shelby was purposely overleveled (even in S1) for newcomers, and the ridiculous grip has been passed on to the FH4 version.

Jack Armstrong I find it very annoying how Forza doesn’t show different flags for different cars, and just lumps all Fords as American, for example despite having British & Aussie fords

It actually had around 750hp. It was an F1 Cosworth engine.

@Nick Cassetta tried the IDR on this zone and even in the snow managed to get 80mph (130kmh). It's an absolute beast.

You can fit the TTV6 engine from the new Ford GT in that class. Once you have that engine, the van can punch a hole in space.

It did.. It was the Ford Cosworth HB V8 engine. Until the 2004 refurbishment. Then it used a Ford-Cosworth Pro Sports 3000 engine.
