Just a quick point. This video is by no means an absolute answer to the age old question, but it is a thorough investigation into the possibility. It leaves you to make up your own mind on the evidence and information provided. There's a few bits of speculation in there, but these are by no means verified or a fact. I was totally in the belief that the tunnels do not exist, but the more I made the video to explain this. The more bits of counter evidence I uncovered, and this has lead me to believe the opposite.
Better than a BBC History programme! This has been very fascinating and your evidence looks pretty spot on, but maybe we will never know for sure? Looking forward to more from you! 👌
This has been your best series so far and I have loved every second! It’s amazing how much history is hidden in plain sight and that we don’t notice until attention is drawn to it. Thanks for spending so much time ‘over the hill on the dark side’ making this and for sharing so much with us
Really enjoyed this, thanks Darren. I would go with the Victoria St theory. I was lucky enough to get a “behind the scenes” tour of the tower a few years back and backstage at the circus would be about the right level for the tunnel to come out. Maybe if you can ever get access, you could investigate it from that end? Here’s hoping we get a part 2, I’m really invested now! 🤞🏻
Excellent video as usual Darren and for a fantastic series of videos of the INCREDIBLE Winter Gardens and Opera House buildings. I was very much for the theory once of a tunnel connecting the two, but was put off by it being put to me that why would two sworn enemies want to be connected and so, yes, that made sense and so that was that. Then I met Darren!! I still have to say that, is there definitive proof of it? No. There is not. But, buying out your rival, then building a warehouse that is literally a few yards from the front of your newly acquired attraction. Hmmmm. Not so far fetched now perhaps? Almost certainly only used for linking conduits now, but back in the day? Who knows? I'm certainly not stating that it DOES, or did exist, but I'm also, certainly not as skeptical as I was that it definitely DOESN'T!! Food for thought. Many thanks Darren.
That was amazing video I love every single minute of these amazing video's of blackpool I also think route number 3 it was make easier with other 2 tunnels tougher I would love they give you a key for the door of 25 on it so you can make another video think the tunnel was there at some point I would love you make more videos of blackpool you have great information about everything you done on these blackpool videos amazing job thank you making amazing videos I can't wait see the video's I hope you and your family and friends are well and safe

3rd time lucky this time !!. To cut it short,my wife worked at the tower lounge 1966/69.She used to have to transfer with other waitresses to the Gardens if there was a banguet on,silver service. She told me that they had to use ‘the tunnel’ to the Gardens. I met a chap two years ago in 2020, who used to meet his mate for a chat at dinner times at the old warehouse. When I asked him the old stories about the tunnel,he explained there was one coming into the warehouse. This man like myself,a local who knows the town. Not all the so called historians know it all by the way,the ones who debunk the theory. On a last note, there is a tunnel the other side of the Raikes Hotel,on Whitegate Drive.Ive been down it.All 60 feet.

Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into these on location and editing 😊😊
Great video and great series. Love to see you do one in the tower or behind the scenes at the pleasure beach. Does anybody remember the news reports that some people stole BBC camera equipment from inside the Blackpool Tower when strictly was there. I’m sure they used the tunnels to get access. Possibly look into the news reports from then.
Ace Video Darren as usual mate 👍. I've lived in Blackpool all my life and always been fascinated by the rumours of tunnels . I've also been a member of several Local history groups none of which have ever done such thorough research and shed so much light on the rumours. Thank you
Great videos pal. Hope there is a tunnel behind door 25. Always something fascinating and quite eerie about old long abandoned tunnels and curiosity is a very powerful thing. If only you could get behind that door
Hey up Daz,another informative video excellently produced. It certainly is a mind mash is this one ,lots to think about especially what's behind 'door 25'. Thanks again for a very good example of how an investigative is done 😎😎
Fascinating video, I have some incredibly learned friends who have debunked the tunnel stories . . . but personally find the whole thing fascinating & desperately want proof of their existence
Thanks Darren. This info you have given us has been very interesting. The so called experts aren’t always what they pretend to be.Best information yet to date.Good luck from me in Blackpool
I am really interested in all this and heard stories before about tunnels going from the Winter Gardens to the Tower. I would really go with the Victoria Street theory. So hoping for a part two Darren. Loved it and thank you, :)
Very interesting and factual 👌 Such tunnels was very popular back in the day, they run under our feet constantly without our knowledge 😉 Glasgow has the secret tunnel that runs under The Clyde
Darren, what a interesting watch - - nothing like a little detective work to make for a fun video. Just think of how many lost and forgotten tunnels, culverts and sewers are under Manchester and London.
@@AdventureMe Just thinking here, how bought a video on some of the lesser-known facts of Manchester Cathedral? Like the Angel of Stone, St Ann's Church on the site before the cathedral, Hanging Bridge (my favorite) and the Chantry Chapels for a few ideas. But like I said, "just thinking as you're the boss.....
Great video as always. During the mid-80s, I worked at Blackpool Tower for two summer seasons whilst at college. Several elderly members of staff said they had used the tunnel to / from the Winter Gardens in the 1960s, which ran the full length of Victoria Street, however, as I didn’t understand why a tunnel would built (power distribution), I assumed they were simply pulling my leg. I also visited the Tower Warehouse many times, it did have a basement and it did have a very deep alcove which could have been a sealed off tunnel seen on your video. Given the suspicion surround door 25, could you contact at the Winter Gardens open the door to confirm, either on or off camera?
I'm hoping for a continuation and getting to go behind door 25 . A great series, I've got the family coming to Blackpool three more for venue tours at the Winter Gardens. Many thanks for the vlogs.all the best!
Great video, keep them coming. My 'take', presented by your investigations, is there must have been a tunnel. Now only to open the locked door to prove either yes or no ....
This concluding video is as interesting as the previous ones in this series, Darren. Although there may have been connecting tunnels between certain buildings, it doesn't rule out that through construction of roads and certain buildings over time or demolition even over the decades, the events were were probably in some cases never recorded, especially in photographic form. Many thanks for this series, and keep well.
Thanks for this, and the balanced presentation of what we know and think we know! I tend to your previous view, although there would certainly be utilities passing under Victoria St - whether that was a tunnel as some suggest, I doubted. I could never see that there'd be any need to move anything beyond utilities down Victoria St. If they needed to take things between the three buildings, they could take them by cart/van along the roads, which would be much easier than moving it down into cellars and through tunnels just to bring it back up again. Are there any records of e.g. Circus performers also performing at the same time in the Winter Gardens? I've never heard of it. I just don't see the benefit to the BTCo in building a passenger tunnel between the three buildings - it starts to sound like Williamson's tunnels the more you think about it! Surely the easy way to find out what's behind that door #25 is to open the door? In your other videos, you were accompanied by various staff, so surely you asked what was behind the door? Did they refuse to open it? It looks a relatively modern lock on it. Thanks again for this series. Will we get one on the Tower next? (Pretty please.)
Very interesting. Bearing in mind the immense spread of the Blackpool Tower Company by the 1960s, owning by then not only the Tower complex, the Tower warehouse and the Winter Gardens but also the Opera House and the Grand Theatre in town and part of Stanley Park which later became the Zoo, there is every reason to suggest that the buildings were interconnected by tunnels. In addition to the suggestions of use by utilities, the very obvious use for the tunnels would be to easily move props, costumes and scenery between the various sites without having to encounter the chaos on the streets throughout most of the year. Additionally, Blackpool Tower Company had very few, if any, vans which would be necessary for surface moves. My own feelings opt for Sefton Street as the route for no other reason than "a gut feeling".
Great series. I have enjoyed them all. I've got to admit I'm a bit disappointed they're finished. You have a great presenting style which draws us in with your obvious enthusiasm for the topic you are showing and discussing. It looks like a modern lock on door 25. Did they not open it and let you have a peek inside?
This video gives a lot of possibilities either way. The door #25 I think is the elusive answer to the tunnel question. The person who sent it to you, probably is the last person alive with the true vision. If i were a betting person….Bingo….that is the answer. Thanks for the video, Darren. They are always keeping you tight into the viewing chair. Enjoy the week ahead, and cheers again for the video. And as always, Cheers to you Darren. See you on the next!!
😎😎 I am the person who filmed that video and assure you I'm still Alive!! My names on the bottom left. .. And yep, I know exactly what lurkes behind #25

Thanks Craig. I've already done the Pleasure Beach. 4 videos on my channel. I'm working on doing the tower.
@@AdventureMe also be great if you could do something in the wax works I think there would be some interesting things in the basement haha
Oh that was so so interesting, may I say though your videos are always good to watch .
Thanks Leslie
Great Series, thanks
Thanks Steve
Another awesome video
Thanks Neil
Ace Video Darren as usual mate 👍. I've lived in Blackpool all my life and always been fascinated by the rumours of tunnels . I've also been a member of several Local history groups none of which have ever done such thorough research and shed so much light on the rumours.
Thank you
Thanks Christian. I like to be thorough.
Great videos pal. Hope there is a tunnel behind door 25. Always something fascinating and quite eerie about old long abandoned tunnels and curiosity is a very powerful thing. If only you could get behind that door
Thanks Gareth
This was a great series mate! Good work! 👍🏻
Thanks mate
Superb! Really hope that someone comes up with more info about the tunnels, so you can add to this fantastic series.
Thanks Michael. I will certainly update everyone if they do
Great stuff 👍
Thanks Paul
Hello Darren how are you great interest vidio of the underground tunnels of Blackpool winter gardens stay safe from Lynn x
Thanks Lynn
Hey up Daz,another informative video excellently produced. It certainly is a mind mash is this one ,lots to think about especially
what's behind 'door 25'. Thanks again for a very good example of how an investigative is done 😎😎
Thanks Richard. I worked very hard on this one.
Fascinating video, I have some incredibly learned friends who have debunked the tunnel stories . . . but personally find the whole thing fascinating & desperately want proof of their existence
Me too Deborah. It's only speculation, but I'm more convinced now.
Thanks Darren. This info you have given us has been very interesting. The so called experts aren’t always what they pretend to be.Best information yet to date.Good luck from me in Blackpool
Thanks Colin. I agree
I am really interested in all this and heard stories before about tunnels going from the Winter Gardens to the Tower. I would really go with the Victoria Street theory. So hoping for a part two Darren. Loved it and thank you, :)
Thanks Barbara
Very interesting and factual 👌 Such tunnels was very popular back in the day, they run under our feet constantly without our knowledge 😉 Glasgow has the secret tunnel that runs under The Clyde
Thanks Ross
Darren, what a interesting watch - - nothing like a little detective work to make for a fun video. Just think of how many lost and forgotten tunnels, culverts and sewers are under Manchester and London.
I know. I'm betting 1000's
Really enjoyed the videos on the winter gardens, Are you able to do something similar on the history and secrets of the Blackpool tower?
Thanks Michael. I hope so one day.
No unfortunately not for security reasons.
I'm hoping for a continuation and getting to go behind door 25 .
A great series, I've got the family coming to Blackpool three more for venue tours at the Winter Gardens.
Many thanks for the vlogs.all the best!
Thanks Nick. I hope to do a follow up too
Great video, keep them coming. My 'take', presented by your investigations, is there must have been a tunnel. Now only to open the locked door to prove either yes or no ....
Thanks John
This concluding video is as interesting as the previous ones in this series, Darren. Although there may have been connecting tunnels between certain buildings, it doesn't rule out that through construction of roads and certain buildings over time or demolition even over the decades, the events were were probably in some cases never recorded, especially in photographic form. Many thanks for this series, and keep well.
Thanks mate
I really enjoyed this series it was very interesting. Thanks
Thanks Ricky
Are you doing a deep dive of the casino white tower building.in blackpool
These are great vids
Hopefully yes
Thanks For This Very Interesting Video From Blue
Thanks Blue
Waited weeks for this. Well done
Thanks mate
Thank you, very interesting…
Thanks Diane
Thanks Andrew. It was just out of bounds and sealed for security. Especially the week of the tory conference.
Thank you. Those were beautiful and interesting videos. But what could be behind door number 25?
Who knows. But I am told nothing sinister.
@@AdventureMe Oke thank you
Really interesting indeed, certainly seems to be some truth in this little legend doesn’t there.
It's pointing that way
Great series,thank you !
Thanks Andrew
Thanks Andy. I did favour the Sefton St route originally
Great video love history of Blackpool, I believe the tunnels were there buy why would it be a secret to this day?
Security reasons I presume
Great series. I have enjoyed them all. I've got to admit I'm a bit disappointed they're finished.
You have a great presenting style which draws us in with your obvious enthusiasm for the topic you are showing and discussing.
It looks like a modern lock on door 25. Did they not open it and let you have a peek inside?
Thanks David. Plenty of other similar series coming up. Starting in the next few weeks.
Brilliant Darren, thanks for this
Thanks Mark
This video gives a lot of possibilities either way. The door #25 I think is the elusive answer to the tunnel question. The person who sent it to you, probably is the last person alive with the true vision. If i were a betting person….Bingo….that is the answer. Thanks for the video, Darren. They are always keeping you tight into the viewing chair. Enjoy the week ahead, and cheers again for the video. And as always, Cheers to you Darren. See you on the next!!
Thanks Martin. I'm hoping for some answers.
😎😎 I am the person who filmed that video and assure you I'm still Alive!! My names on the bottom left. ..
And yep, I know exactly what lurkes behind #25
@@domw4687 Thank you for your response. Sitting down watching this video from 3,600 miles away, I am glad to hear from your response. Did a lot of investigations during my lifetime, and the narrowing down to your response satisfies my thoughts. And that’s what they are…my thoughts. Thank you Sir! 🇬🇧🙂👍🇺🇸
@@martinmarsola6477 wowzers! I didn't realise you were that far away, in the USA I presume?
Now you've got me fascinated! How did you come to stumble across our town & it's mystery tunnel?
@@domw4687 I’ve been traveling to the UK for over ten years, in the early 80’s to around 2000. I had mates I knew from the British Navy, and I ran across this again from a TH-cam author recently. Have quite a few friends in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. I used to fly in to Heathrow, but now will arrive in Manchester Piccadilly. When you travel for thirteen years, you get to find out a lot about the UK.
Great Video Theres ment to be a tunnel from The Grand Theatre to the Winter Gardens too
Yes I heard that rumour. Luckily I will find out soon.
What a great series fascinating stuff
Thanks Keith
Another great video! Love your content! My old network manager (he's not old, I mean in a previous job!) first told me about your videos and adventures. I think he said he used to teach you at school.
Anyways, I've loved the Blackpool stuff, I was waiting for some footage on the horseshoe theatre, did you do any or did I miss it?. Once saw an illusion show there that had Schnorbitz the dog in it. Oh, and Bradley Walsh stand up.
Thanks Gary. Who's the network manager I know? Yeah part one had the pavilion theatre in.
@@AdventureMe aaah, I'll have to check out part one again, my memory isn't what it used to be 🤣 My old network manager was Mark Ellis, he used to teach before he went into IT in schools and I'm sure he said he used to teach you. But like I said, my memory isn't what it was.
@@manamaga1 Yes that's correct. He did. I took him on a tour of one of my videos last year. It was nice to catch up.
Please open the door. Was a fantastic series
Follow the tunnels on the local pages, they definitely existed and route 3 is what I always thought also.
Thanks Chris
Great vid as usual pal👍
Cheers mate
I am distantly related to Mr Wilson who made one of the statements you mentioned. My uncle told me stories that he had been told about tunnels below the tower and some other random things about the BTC warehouse.
Thanks mate
Brilliant as always I would love to know what is behind door 25.
Wouldn't it be good
Hi Darren, your research was amazing. I personally am not bothered one way or tother if the tunnel/s existed, for me its what was above ground that's more interesting. You have touched on door #25 a few times, I think you and MartinZ should mount a break in and go find out 🤔.Take Barney and let him sniff around too, he might find some more clues. The eye witness recounts are invaluable and let's hope many more come forward. Maybe get in touch with BBC local radio and NW tv news to appeal for ex employees to come forward rather than rely on your YT site? Anyways hugz. Cheers DougT in Mancs
Thanks Doug
Found this the most interesting of a very good series. I love a mystery! Your theory seems like a good one based on the evidence presented. You need to find someone with a key to door 25 to find out what it hides!
Thanks Jason. Yes I do
Fantastic series yet again as good as butlins one.
Thanks mate
Gonna miss this series, wonder if the tower would play along for the same treatmemt
I'm hoping so
Really interesting. Won’t the owners let you have access to no25 ?
I hope so 🤞
Cheers Glen
Thanks Glen. No they won't. I did try.
it’s odd how they gave you access to so many non-public areas, do you have any theories to why they wouldn’t let you go through door 25? As others aid they could have supplied you cottage if they didn’t want you in there. Another banging video, thanks so much for all the effort you put in. Much appreciated.
Thanks mate. A lot of the areas are out of bounds for security reasons
@@AdventureMe and maybe they want to keep the mystery going online
