Ryan, as we ALL KNOW, you are a great driver, but I must say that you are an even better AMBASSADOR for the hobby! The way you take time to explain, give tips and NEVER knock other people’s approach to a problem is exactly what this hobby needs. I’ve been into this for a little over 30 years, and all the fast guys were snobs and selfish with information. (Some still are). It’s refreshing to see old and newbies have a channel where that doesn’t exist. Thanks!!!🙏🏼
this is the video is what my idiot ass needed, dirt oval is an entirely different world i don't have the vocabular to even start to know what to look at . thankyou for making this video
For thoes who have never raced dirt oval. It seems easy and at first. Yes your going in a circle, easy enough. But your setup must be good or you'll be in the back really fast. Tires must be perfect. And you must follow the same line for 50 laps without a mistake. If you want close racing fun oval brings give it a try!
Too cool, we are going to be making a series similar to this with my kids. they are both starting dirt oval this summer in novice... and Im gonna give it a go in novice too. My son and I will be running an AE street stock set up and my daughter will be running an AE sc6.2 but with a stock car body. very excited for this adventure!
Your videos are pleasing to watch. This video particularly made me envy you build. When you showed the track footage they gentleman below the driver stand was exactly on point with his comment. Your car looked really dialed for the track, with a few less bobbles you probably would have not been 1 lap down but 1 lap up. Your cars are super clean you explain almost all points of the cars you review. You are very informative and are a really great racer. Keep up the great work my friend.
I'm glad to see this video as I'm in the middle of building a 1/10 midget myself, but with a Traxxas based kit from Ultimate RC Pitstop. GFRP makes nice and expensive things, but there's more challenge (and fun) building them from a not purpose-built platform.
looks super fun i use to race offroad 1/10th scale trophy truck and some buggy in Missouri moved back to SD to help Dad n Mom and no rc racing close around here that i have found
I've checked other videos about dirt oval but yours are still the best. My local shop runs a medium grip dirt oval track. I am in the process of making a late model with a serpent srx2mm chassis with a mcallister kit. I want to find more options on kits for my other vehicles.
We all know yellow wheels are soo much faster than white wheels 😂 Ryan i love what you do you are such a good fast driver that is always willing to help people! By the way i dont want to bug you but i messaged you on facebook messenger. Thank you keep pumping out this content 🤙
Love the dirt oval stuff I’ve been racing carpet oval for the last year learn a lot getting better every time out but have been thinking about doing some dirt stuff but right now it’s just a matter of money unfortunately but keep the videos coming
Late to the vid. Definitely come up to Motorama. One night it could be on a ghosted tire. Next night need tread for a loose setup. That track in the vid is tight! A loose track is gonna be a whole challenging animal.
i'm more a carpet oval racer but been getting into running outdoor offroad and oval. got all my oval rc done then was going to start oval at newred this weekend but blew the engine up in my truck so can't go racing till i have something to drive to the races. been to newberry once and ran sc 4x4 out there
If theres ANY type of bumps in the turns, and that sucker starts acting up, get that brass hub out of there… unsprung weight, ESPECIALLY out at the end like that, causes weird stuff to happen… i tried it, stopped because our track had a rough area as the “low” line stopper, the weight made it faster, but also made it upset on things that LITERALLY DID NOTHING when i hit it without the weight….
I use to drive for Team Associate 96-99. I have a basement full of their stuff lol. I would love to get back into it but it hurts my head where to start.
Curious which brand liquid mask you had trouble with..I had the same problem using Spaz stix liquid mask. It was a very frustrating waste of time and money.
Yeah Ryan that spaz stix liquid mask is awful 🤣 i messaged them and they said it was a bad batch so they sent me a new bottle its white instead of blue. Did a little test piece and it seemed ok 🤷
Ryan, do you know what they’re spraying on that outdoor track in the first video of your Mod sprint? Also what tires are you using on that surface? Thank you very much.
Wow. I’m up in PA and we have a lot of Mod sprint and 13.5 sprint/midget racing happening. This year, those classes really taking off and replacing 17.5 sprints. Nice to see its going on down there. I’ve been lucky enough to pick up a 13.5 ride for a few series. I’m Really enjoying racing those cars. Question, I’m looking to relocate to Central Florida. So, I’m trying to figure out all the places I can race. I’m primarily oval, but I do run 2wd mod buggy, and VTA/USGT. Honestly, I’ll race anything. Ryan, you are always racing, so I’m assuming there is a lot of racing. But, I keep hearing from one ex-Floridian, I’m going to be disappointed. There’s not a lot of racing in Fl. I’m used to having 4-5 places to race (within 60-90 drive) per week. Is it possible to find something similar on central Florida?
Get in touch with Doug Gaut, he's a team driver for GFRP... and a long time veteran of the hobby. He gives a lot of tuning feedback to all of his sponsors. If you have any specific questions, he is the go-to guy.
Not when you understand close racing is close racing. I do 1/8 buggy since 2021, I love it. I was a pro invite oval racer in iracing in 2015, oval racing is racing. Just much closer and actually fun as hell. For the driver

This is so awesome seeing you try out dirt oval.
Monochromatic is the only way to go for me as well. I really love the look of all black across the chassis and electronics and suspension bits.

Those will be great videos for sure! Good luck 🤘
Wow.!!
Well done..
Loved the video...
And that spint paint job is really cool..
Used to own a team GFRP havoc 2.0 for electric dirt mod racing when I raced in the northeast. Good to see they’re still around.
Sir Harris. Good to hear from you. 🫡🫵
Love the sc oval videos! I just picked up a Prodigy SC Mod after watching your CB videos. Season starts next week here in Iowa, can’t wait! 🏆

Awesome content as always bro.

Both paint jobs are awesome but I particularly like the grey one. The next time I paint a car that the color it’s going to be
Go for it!

Next rc event you should add wings to a RC car and do a jump contest

Cool video, I run a 2022 GFR1 Direct drive setup for foam tire for carpet in 17.5 spec trinity equalizer .

Would love to see more videos on short course/indoor clay track!
I have been waiting for ever for this video

Great video Ryan show More of this
Man… I haven’t seen a dirt oval mod since 8 cell nimh with 10 turn motors. That was rad. Hope to maybe meet ya in Tampa sometime.
Wicked content man, makes me jealous we have no dirt oval here in nz

Sprint looks good!!
Yeah Ryan that spaz stix liquid mask is awful 🤣 i messaged them and they said it was a bad batch so they sent me a new bottle its white instead of blue. Did a little test piece and it seemed ok 🤷
Hi 😀, How did your motor turn out , did it get hot, what gearing did you have? Thanks.
Ryan, do you know what they’re spraying on that outdoor track in the first video of your Mod sprint? Also what tires are you using on that surface? Thank you very much.
You should try the rear brass camber link mount.
What’s up with that HB truggy box on the shelf behind you?

Very interesting, we have not that in France.
From one Ryan to another… I want to know what sticks you have in the humidor!
I live in Indiana. As of right now there isnt any dirt oval racing. Where would i go to get into it again?
In the midget is the esc the justock or the stock spec?
Juststock
Justock G3S is the current ESC used in this class! I initially installed an older Hobbywing Spec esc but have since replaced it.

Out of curiosity, which liquid mask did you use ?
where u buy those cool looking bodies?
These are the kit bodies!
@@RyanHarrisRC u paint them yourself? And what stuff should I put in a Losi mini b roller?
Are you running 2 or 4 internal gears on your gear diff with the 5k?
What would a paint job like that cost..
On a spint car..
It's outstanding..!
Thank you 🙏
Please do more content on these cars as there is very limited content on them
More oval stuff plz
I see a HB Truggy in that shelf, when is that puppy going to get a run??
About time a video
cool👍👍👍
It’s fun I got a RC modified
Gfrp is the best company in rc!
The best part about oval is you hardly ever break anything...

More mx please🙏🏼

Oh it’s coming brother
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I’m getting dizzy watching this vid tbh

Not when you understand close racing is close racing.

$650 for the kit tho ;-;
Why Americans like so much to drive in a circle ? (Real question I’m serious)
Hey Ryan can you send me the link to the discord server
