This studio version came out in 1987 when singer Michael Kiske (bald singer in the video) joined... he has a very operatic, high range vocal.
Andi Deris joined Helloween as lead singer in 1994. His voice is more bluesy and raw...
When Kiske accepted the 'Pumpkins united' version of Helloween w/ guitarist Kai Hansen returning as well (Kiske & Hansen worked together recently as the band Unisonic)... Deris and Kiske actually became close friends after never having met for decades!
Deris said he was relieved that he could share vocal duties live and didn't have to execute Kiske's high range vocal parts in Helloween songs 😂🎃
3 guitar players worked perfectly - Michael Weikath, Sasha Gerstner & Kai Hansen... w/ Marcus Grosskopf (bass) & Dani Loble (drums)

There is a video version of this song but it cuts the song to shreds, so glad that you did this full version. Yeah, this song is a classic and the first I heard from them. The one singer that was bald is the original singer, Michael Kiske (the guy from the I Want Out video, believe it or not), who came back to the band after not being with them for a long time, along with the current singer, Andi Deris. They really utilize both voices really well, with the both of them harmonizing and trading off. They also brought back original guitarist Kai Hansen, so like Maiden, they're a 3 guitar band now also.

I am sensing that your plea to Dad for him to hook you up with some Rush shirts went well.... literally and yes H elloween has a huge Iron Maiden debt that they acknowledge. Not just in the vocalist, and I believe they have had two or three over the course of their career, but in their music as well which is very influenced by Maiden. I have to say that Helloween are super good so I think that is an excellent statement and tribute to Maiden in general. Happy Halloween ladies take care

You can almost never go wrong with Helloween. (PBGA and Chameleon albums should be skipped) One of my favorite bands since I discovered them in the early 90's. Stellar band. Funny thing about this video.....this is how they START the show. With a 13 minute epic.

Also, my little contribution, a band called Kamelot and their song "Elisabeth I,II & III", an authentic masterpiece and maybe with the best voice that you will ever hear on metal world.... Totally in love with Juliet, btw... :P

O.k. girls…. I really don’t know where to begin. To be honest I have to start out by saying that I apologize for not watching or commenting on your videos as of late. Been going through a lot of personal stuff and just have not had the time. But when I saw you were reacting to my “boys” no matter how bad I feel I had to watch this video and comment. I’m writing these words before watching the video because I have faith and hopes that you will love it! I can proudly say that I have been rocking to these guys since ‘87 . Wow…’87 can you believe it! I’m getting old. I love this band so much I listen to them faithfully….at least once a month, probably more. I even got my 26 year old daughter into them. Thanks again for the reaction.

comparing with Bruce Dickinson is unfair, because the band is from the same time that Bruce Dickinson started to sing, and Bruce Dickinson only started to have repercussions as a singer on the album he sings in 1991 and this song Halloween is from 1987

I'm so old that I originally discovered Helloween through a 900 number I used to call to discover new metal bands that mainstream radio stations didn't play. I had to talk my parents into purchasing a push-button phone so I could scroll through the menu. Boy did that 900 number cost me most of my paper route money.

Kiske is better than Bruce. I am sorry maiden fans, that’s the way it is. Both share similarities with their vocal delivery but Kiske is better, cleaner, stronger, higher in the high ranger, deeper in the deeper range, better control, and he’s far more serious and dedicated with the care of his voice - no smoking, rarely drinking, etc. Yes it has to be acknowledged that Kiske is 10 years younger but either way, at his age Bruce didn’t sound as well. Facts. Don’t dare to compare Kiske with Deris, because you will get a lot of sh*y in the comment section, lol

Most bands struggle to find one good singer, and they have 2. One does sound a bit like Bruce Dickenson and the other is very reminiscent of Geoff Tate, and that almost isn't even fair.

If u see in the video the part with the highest pitch when they say its helloween there are 3 voices doing it not 2 kai, kiske and deris also kai hansen sings ride the sky alone having the two monster singers having a break while he sings

You do realise they sing "ahh it's Helloween" not Halloween don't you? It's just a little quirk they have that anywhere the word Halloween appears in their songs they sing Helloween (see Dr Stein)
