Superb sound quality in this recording. Busoni's take on the Waltz is really quite remarkable: stylised elegance rubs shoulders with euphoric orchestral flourishes. The whole piece is genuinely affectionate but also quirkily tongue-in-cheek, it seems to me. Needless to say, Jarvi and the BBC Philharmonic perform with style and great flair.
