Best design approach for window boxes... Thriller/Filler/Spiller. Use a tall and/or very colorful central plant. I frequently use dracenae for the 'thriller.' I use baby tears, trailing thyme, or other plant that is waterfall-like along the front. And then the fillers are all the flowers.
great flower box. my husband would say measure twice cut once. nice saying didn't make me any more competent measuring so I took the best 2 out of 3 and usually re did. anyhoo, bright red geraniums, those purple spikey flowers and sweet potato vines - the lime green ones.
At :44 when you brought out the pry bar my first thought was...reciprocating saw. Then Plan B came out and I laughed. Pallets are a bear to break down. I use a reciprocating all the time now. Nice project though. New thoughts for strawberry planters. Thanks!
Do you use battery operated tools ? I do when I'm out where I don' have electricity or run 200 feet of extension cord. I also use my solar panel to keep the batteries charged..
One question, you mentioned a home made pallet wrecking tool, and that there would be a link, can you tell me which link it is in the description box? Thanks so much
I was just saying to my husband that I want to build flower boxes for the front of our home, better hurry and do it while we have the carpenters here remodeling our bathroom, they have a table saw ; )
I would use linseed oil for a natural wood look. I would use 2 Little Bunny Burgundy grasses and 1 Proven Winner Vista Bubblegum. Full sun box. Oh, and don't forget to put 4 drainage holes in your box if it doesn't already have some. 8-)

Nice work! I use a lot of pallet wood in my projects
thx! i'm trying to use the wood to make useful things that don't have 'pallet project' all over them.
I wonder if you should treat the wood for termites?

Your plan B is always my plan A, I hate cracking pallet boards even at the expense of not being able to re-cycle my nails
Dat gardenFork background music :D
The music's title is 'Happy Hour' very appropriate!
Been hearing it for quite some years here .. never gets old ;)
Great video! Link for the flip Bit? I have a stack of pallets I can rip up!

great idea and video i just got some pallets and guess what?
+Jerry Hogkiller yeah!
It`s always good to have a saw that is able to cut "rebellious" nails ! :-)
(Our temperature here goes up and down like a rollercoaster...)
same here, thx!
Eric sometimes you are impressive! Lol ((nice job))
ps: when I don't hear her voice, i really miss your background narrator.
take care
I like the video. but have never had access to a pallet.
The Grim Jester (Chris Donovan) check out "free stuff" on Craig's list : )
Thanks. I always thought Craig's List was for getting murdered, but this sounds like a good use for it! ;)
