Constructive criticism is always welcome by most actors. There is no doubt that Dilip Kumar was India's best actor with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan following in his footsteps in later years. They both had a sense of immediacy of being able to connect with their audience. As the Tragedy King, Dilip saab was undoubtedly THE BEST. Dilip saab zeroed in on his performances with the intensity of a violinist mastering a symphony. He added shades to his characters, excelling particularly in conveying the persona of a wounded romantic. Dilip Kumar was a rarity in Bollywood: A career based on total talent, not tabloid dynamics. He was never more himself than when he played someone else. And that, in a nutshell, is my summation of this great thespian.

An actor will be called a good actor if he works in a wide variety in roles even if he is a mideocre actor. The greatness of Dilip sahab's acting was he tried being different in each of him films. Back in those times people didn't change their looks much, but he brought in some subtle differences and diction etc. He was a very thinking actor. The whole concept of method acting was introduced by Dilip Sahab even before Brando. And just go and check how many films he has made in him whole career. That was the greatness of Dilip Kumar.
