I found one at goodwill today. It’s in pretty good condition, some scratches on the face but the fur and clothes aren’t discolored at all and I got it for around a $1. I’m interested in collecting odd vintage toys so this was a pretty good find.
Thanks for sharing Chris. I have sold a few of these and have a few listed on ebay. They were all mint in the box. No damage to the wood. Keep up thw great content.
I've found a few of these and done okay with them. But not great. I guess I just haven't found the right ones. I usually pass them up, but I should look them up again. Things always change.
I've been given a large Robert Raikes Bear, Not sure if it's one of his early ones from the late seventies or eighties or after he regrouped and took control back of the production. It has a wooded tag pinned to a leg and a yellow tag on its back. On the wooden tag, it has the name Kip 27/200. I would love some information on my bear.
Hey i actually found 2 at goodwill a while back i think it was Chelsea and Bentley i have them put up for now i just thought they where cool and bought them Chelsea was only missing her bow and was in pretty good condition.
Have a collection of over 50 from The 70’s and 80’s, ranging from 8”-3ft tall. Is there still a market for them? Could I possibly send you some pics to glance over what I’ve got and see if any catch your eye? I would assume the market has dropped at least for the newer ones, but are the vintage ones still selling that you know of?
I have a 20" with an 86 applause tag in good condition. She has a lacey flower in her ear and her paw says k9292/15000. He made a lot of these apparently.
I have a Maid Marion Hedgehog and she has his name and some numbers stamped into the bottom of her right underfoot, the little card on her says he has been an artist and a sculptor for 15 year and it has a certificate of authenticity, his name looks printed into the paper but the numbers look like they were written
Someone I know found one of these bears and brought it to me to see what I could find out about it any way you could help me I can't find much on the one I have possession of?
My mom was obsessed with Raikes Bears, she had an extensive collection in the 90s. I have about 50 Raikes Originals left now, out of at least 125+ There are 3 complete sets, the Introductory Set(1985 - 6 of 6), Glamour Bears of the 1920s (1986 - 6 of 6), and the Saturday Matinee Set by the Good Company (1988 - 3 of 3). All of the faces and feet are mint. I have been trying to sell these bears at antique shows/flea markets for about 3 weeks now. 98% of the people who look at them don't know what they are. You are right, the bottom dropped out of the prices, big time. Some of the boxes still have the original price tag. They definitely did not hold their value, I cringe whenever I look them up on Ebay/Worthpoint. I haven't posted them online yet. I am in the process of cataloging and cross referencing the serial numbers with the certificates. Someone offered to buy my inventory last weekend, and I am considering selling 43 of them (8 - 21 inch, 22 - 16 inch, and 13 - 12 inches or smaller) for $500. Do you see the market ever rebounding? I don't see any complete sets for sale on Ebay, only individuals. Sold listings show an average of $25 or less a piece. =(
Did your buyer take your offer? I find these bears quite creepy, but have a teen who is interested in shimmerina bear. There is one up for auction on EBay currently, but otherwise, I can't find it.
Hi Bluesidian: I have more than 50 of these Raike's Bears that I have been collecting since 1985. I would like to sell them. Could you let me know if you are interested or give me some advice on this. thank you in advance, Michele mjleiser1951@gmail.com
Hey m grandmother passed away and owned a shop full of these bears. I’m needing help on pricing and where to sell them. I’d love some help. You can find me on Facebook Heather McCurdy Minix.
@@mymichiganmittens they were all put in an estate sale (where no one wanted them) and then the majority of them where donated by the estate company to some charity. So we no longer have them.
I don't know why but I've been obsessed with these lately. They're hideous and cute all at the same time!
Hahaha How Funny Me Too
Thanks for stopping by, happy new year!

Good luck to you on your find.
I found two of these recently at the Goodwill for 3 bucks each. (No scuffs) Decided to buy them since there was two. Now I'm glad I did.
Awesome, finding them with mint faces is hard to do since wood can easily be damaged!

Awesome! Yeah I've been meaning to do more videos like this. Thanks for the comment!

Collected these when I was little my mother started me on these. My grandma was a big doll collector she bought some bears which I now have.
They are fun for sure!

Yeah if you can get mint ones for around $5-10 would be a good buy, these are long tail for. Thanks for the comment!

Kip appears to be an older bear, limited to only 200. its worth about $100-$150 with box and papers. If signed by Robert Raike, worth maybe $75 more.
Hey i actually found 2 at goodwill a while back i think it was Chelsea and Bentley i have them put up for now i just thought they where cool and bought them Chelsea was only missing her bow and was in pretty good condition.
yeah they are cool but don't sell for much any more.

The market is very soft, I'd hold onto them.

Yeah, I'm old enough to remember when people paid top dollar for these.

Could be worth $20-40 depending on condition.
Okay I found some at good Will today for twelve bucks each and I REALLY want to buy them. My mom says I can if they are still there tommorriw
Make sure the faces are not all banged and chipped up!
I found one today from 1986 and no chip original certificate box n tags with his signature
Hey bud I have like over 50 from small to big ones in thier boxes what do I do with them
Give them away or sell cheap. I don't think they will ever get their value back anytime soone.
Someone I know found one of these bears and brought it to me to see what I could find out about it any way you could help me I can't find much on the one I have possession of?
Some are very rare, try looking on google or worthpoint.
My mom has two of them thank you so much for the information that really helped us!
You are so welcome! I'd hold onto them!

I don't see the market rebounding. I'd ask for $750 and see if they take it.

I have 40 or 50 of them left from my mom and don't know how or who wants to by them but I would let them all go at once if your interested.
No one wants these. They are a struggle to sell, your better off holding on to them.
I found maybe 6 of them one was in the box with the paperwork
Cool, check to see if its signed by Robert, those are worth more.
Great video content!! Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks Tonya! Glad to see you here! Thanks for the comment!
Thankfully I found your video. So I have a “Blue Boy” card trying to figure out of course value but where to try sell this.
Blue boy # 13/500.
If its Near Mint/Mint with box and papers about $75-100
They are all handcarved, I have all the pandas that he made. Plus a few others. I love these guys.
Yeah, they are artistically great!
Thank information.
Cheers.
Hey, Thank you.
Have about 5 of them ☺️
Very cool!
Hi Chris, I have a Robert Raikes Bear xxx4784/10000, and I would like to know it's value please and thank you.
I'd check ebay, ten thousand is a large number. Unless its signed by Robert, might be worth under $100
I"m a guy and I collect them.
That is awesome cool!

“These are from the 80s”…it says 1995 😂 but fun video!
A good amount of them came in the 80s but yes, good eye lol.

Honestly the market has totally dropped on these.
they are everywhere and worth less than their original prices. We inherited hundreds of them and can't get rid of them. no one wants them.
Maybe donate them?
I'm trying to find the shimmerina fairy bear for my child, if you have it.
