I love the wrist cuff, it's super convenient to bring around instead of a whole huge cuff

That is a darling bag, a kicka** cane, and a great way to carry water and items! Thanks for all the ideas!

Looks like you got all the necessities! I thought of getting a book bag like that before with the water just for hikes with my husband but was worried about the weight. Cause hiking alone is a struggle sometimes let alone adding water to my back lol. But if it doesn't feel that bad, I need to look into it!

If weight is a problem try buying a water bottle belt. That way its distributed across your waist instead of your shoulders. This one is very similar to one I own:

You should get a Fitbit helps a lot. It reminds you to drink and it goes off if your heart rate gets to high are low.

Some great ideas here! Where did you purchase your cane? It looks like it's easy to pop open and close.

Hi. The camel bak is a great idea. Where did you get your o2 meter? I think it's a great idea too. I wonder when I am feeling ill if I am getting enough oxygen. I carry my BP cuff all the time too and I always know when it's going to be low. People always say that it can't be right when it shows 88/50 but I let them use it after me and its 140/85. I guess it does work lol. I am looking to get a medic alert bracelet thing but I want something nice and not geriatric looking. I joke that I am old but I am not quite 40 yet ☺️ Any ideas or suggestions?

You can buy an O2 meter at Walgreen as well as CVS. They usually have them near the Pharmacy, and are commonly set next to things such as Diabetic Glucose Monitors and Blood Pressure Cuffs. Your blood pressure can spike like that to compensate for the low blood pressure, which can make for quite the ride! You can pull up the result history is anyone is ever being a butthead to prove your point XD I usually order my medical alert bracelets at laurenshope.com/. They have a huge variety of different styles, and are made from anything from metal to silicone. They even have alert necklaces that are super pretty if you prefer necklaces over bracelets. I have yet to break one, so they last. Their styles are endless, so you can really curtail them to your personality. Hope that helps!

I would recommend having your doctor write up a letter saying that due to your medical conditions you should be allowed to bring in whatever drinks/snacks you need in order to control your symptoms. People may still give you some push back, but it definitely paves the way, and gives you validity. People are much more likely to comply when they realize there may be legal repercussion to denying the things necessary to keep from having to scoop their patrons off the floor.

What brand and where did you get your cane?

Med Bag: Oh Joy First Aid Kit Johnson & Johnson from Target
      Backpack: CamelBak from Cabela's
Cane: Drive Medical Folding Cane with Glow Gel Grip Handle, Light Blue from Walgreen's, although the internet tells me that they are also sold at Walmart as well? I love it because it is easier to travel with than solid piece canes. Sorry for the late response XD

What brand is your blood pressure monitor or where would you recommend getting one from? I’m trying to find a relative but portable monitor.

ᕼᗩᑎᑎᗩᕼ ᑎOᑕᗩᖇ I'm Soo sorry to get back to you so late. Sometimes I remind myself to reply and end up forgetting. Below is the link to the one that I have, which I believe I bought at Walgreens. It's affordable, small, portable, and can easily fit in a medium sized purse 😎

    Are you diabetic as well?

Why are you in a wheelchair if you don’t mind me asking? I have EDS and I’m being seen by a cardiologist now to see what is going on.

    • @DizzyDazeofLynnea
      @DizzyDazeofLynnea  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

I use a wheelchair for a couple different reasons. Due to the pain of what we are now hypothesizing might be a CSF leak, my NCS symptoms have become more prominent (extreme fatigue, muscle weakness, dizziness, brainfog, and so forth). I knew that Disneyland would be taxing either way, but by using the wheelchair, I have more blood and O2 to my brain, and therefore less symptomatic, so it was the best way to insure I was able to enjoy myself without pooping out early and missing out. I also use it on days that I am struggling more, or I have a lot of errands to run. I use it as a tool to conserve as much energy as I can, so that I can use it for my top priority events/situations where I know I will need it. I have also developed a limp due to lack feeling/control of my right leg, which can make me slow moving.

Dizzy Daze of Lynnea Did you get a Rx for the chair or did you just get it on your own? My doctor's can be very difficult when it comes to any sort of assistance.
