I'm posting this here just because I think you'd really enjoy these covers and I hope you have a chance to watch them just for yourself 😬 This is one of my all time favourite cover bands, Walk Off The Earth. They do their own original music too. You might remember them from the Ellen Show a bunch of years ago. They did a "5 Peeps, One Guitar" cover of Gotye's Somebody that I used to know. This is acoustic version of Me! I don't mean to take anything away from the original. Covers like this just remind me how damn good Taylor's writing is. Even stripped back, it's so good! th-cam.com/video/66Rir47hiAw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UzPNasFSuUFN8fuU

I’ve always loved it, but my Swiftie daughters aren’t as big of fans. My younger daughter said though that Taylor Swift loves it and was disappointed that many Swifties weren’t as into it.
My issue with it when it came out was, while it has a great message, a lot of the lyrics felt strongly like the new label wanted her to do something simplistic. There's a lot of references in the lyrics ('lot of cool chicks' for example), but they're relatively shallow for Taylor. If it wasn't the first single I am not sure I'd have been so bothered... but there were other songs on Lover that had more depth and I was pretty pissed that yet again the singles were not as strong as some of the other songs. I probably won't ever get over that. It felt calculated, engineered to be 'the right kind of pop' music, and it took seeing Miss Americana to fix my view. I still can't get into the song, though I love that she loves it.
The issue I have with this song is that, other the fact that I think it sounds childish (and this is what she wanted to go for, little kids to relate to the lyrics, as she stated in Miss Americana) and more like kids bop, the song was not even finished yet that she was like “oh this is gonna be the first single”, the song isn’t even done yet, so the rest of the album isn’t likely finished either, and you decide your first single already? Also, we got this as a single in April, and we didn’t get anything before June, and that was You need to calm down, which isn’t the best song in the world ever even if it’s fun to sing along! These two songs were definitely not the best choice for singles, especially not if they’re released so early compared to the actual album… 🫤🫤
Fun Fact: When Taylor first says "And there's a lot of cool chicks out there" at 2:53, there is a picture of The Chicks (formerly The Dixie Chicks) on the wall in the middle of all the baby chicks. Taylor talked about The Dixie Chicks in Miss Americana and how the backlash over their political statements affected her growing up.

So Taylor was sooooo cryptic with the name of this album and long story short she actually spells out lover in the video plain as day and everyone MISSED it. It was right in front of our eyes.
For more context on why 22 is so important, in All Too Well 10 minutes version the dad says it is supposed to be fun turning 21 because Jake wasn't there on her birthday also there is a song in red The Moment I knew is about that party turning 21, and now in 22 also a red song is celebrating her birthday
If you wanted to do this on a Tuestay video reaction, you could do the lyric versions to All to Well (10 min version), then The Moment I Knew (TV), and end with 22 (tv)
I love "ME!" too. I'm so happy that you did also. As of 4-8-24, the song had 842,377,683 streams on Spotify alone. Guess lots of people love it. "Slut" is a catchy song. You'll like it. Those were some of Taylor's real friends in the "22" video. I'm glad that you had a happy Tuesday reacting to those 2 Taylor videos. Fun fact: Although the album that "ME!" is from, "Lover", came out in 2019, "Lover" is still in the Top 15 of the Top 200 album chart this week.
Reputation was the last album right before lover so the 🐍 was her way going into from an angry in to a happy album because ME was the first single off the Lover ❤️ album
I’d love to be in your house when you’re recording Taylor reactions cause I can just imagine chilling in another room and all of a sudden you hear shouting about how much you love Taylor! 😂♥️
i think its such a no brain, only vibes, pure bubblegum pop song that a lot of taylor fans who expect stellar lyricism and not such a pure sugary pop sound from her were disappointed. especially with this album coming after rep your enthusiasm for ME! is healing my little swiftie heart though :)
But the thing is. This lyric is actually really deep and so important. But it’s easy to be tricked because of the bubblegum pop sound. This is self love! Recognizing your own worth and recognizing that it is all of our differences that makes us unique and special.
@josefinasoderholm6488 thats fair, i think the bridge really threw people off. it is a good song no doubt, just not something expected from taylor - not necessarily a bad thing imo.
This is a great way to put it--I also think if it hadn't been the FIRST single from the new album and new label, it would have been better received. I am sad for her, I hope it didn't hurt not to put it in the Eras set list. Poor Me! just didn't live up to what a lot of us wanted, especially as you said, after Rep.
The ragdoll cat in the video is Benjamin Button (or Benji) she was adopted by Taylor when this music video was made (she fell in love with him instantly) and she’s also the cat in the Miss Americana documentary where you see him walking on the piano keys while Taylor was about to play. He is also the cat draped on Taylor’s shoulder in her recent Time Person of the Year magazine cover
I’m thrilled you waited to watch Me! until your voice came back. Your enthusiasm at full volume was desired and required. You should also watch the Billboards Music Awards live performance of it. It’s epic!
Please react to “Mean” MV and “I Can See You (TV)” MV next tuesday, you’ll love it! If you are more into breaking down again, you can also do “Dear John” (live from Speak Now Tour) and “Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve” (lyric video) as well ♥️ so glad I’ve found this channel a few months ago, looking forward to TuesTay and fridays reaction every week ☺️🙌🏼
Taylor was 22 when she wrote it, and filmed it when she was 23! She is currently 34. I’m only a couple years younger than her so this came out when I was 21, when it hit midnight on my 22nd birthday I was on a beach in Santa Barbara with my best friend and played this while drinking champagne. Peak.❤
I’m so happy you like ths song and the video!!!!!! I’ve always loved Me! It makes me happy, love the message that everyone is unique, and its just fun to sing along to. Try to sing that chorus and not smile!!!
This song is so fun! Some hate it cuz it leans to the cheesy side of Taylor but she can be cheesy sometimes! HEY KIDS, CHEESY IS FUN! Lol I never skip this song! I love getting ready to it or cleaning or just if I need a pic-me-up... not every Taylor song needs to be Shakespearean. 😂
Taylor was born on December 13th, 1989. She turned 22 on December 13th, 2011, and wrote "22" about it. She put the song on the album RED, which was originally released on October 22nd, 2012, when she was still 22 going on 23. The music video came out on March 13th, 2013, so at the time she wasn't 22 anymore but 23. Rule of thumb if you wanna know Taylor's age at a given date. You take the last two digits of the year... - If the year is 1999 or before, subtract 90. Or, if the year is 2000 or after, add 10. - Then, if the date is between December 13th and December 31st, add 1 That's it!
14:09 she was 22 when she wrote the song. This song is the best because her 21st birthday was an awful birthday for her because she was dating and in love with Jake Gyllenhaal, and he ghosted her and didn’t show up to her party. So this song is her celebrating her new year with new experiences and hanging out with her friends ❤
2 glitter gel pen song in one sitting, I love it!!!😍 As I think you know now, Taylor has 3 writing pen categories, and most of us love ALL the shades and layers of Taylor, but there are a group of swifties who don´t... They don´t like to be silly, have fun and be dorky, they wan´t to only be serious and think Glitter gel pen songs are beneath them. But most of us love all the colors and shades of Taylor and her music. And I know you do too🥰 For those who don´t know Taylors 3 writing pens they are: QUILL PEN SONGS: (songs with lyrics that make you feel old fashioned. like a 19th century poet writing by candle light) Like - "Ivy", "Tolerate it" and " My tears Ricochet" FOUNTAIN PEN SONGS: (modern personal stories written like poetry where you can see every detail) Like - "Champagne Problems", "All to well" and "Right where you left me" GLITTER GEL PEN SONGS: (song that make you wanna dance, songs where you just have fun and don´t take yourself too seriously) Like - "ME!", " We are never ever getting back together" and " I forgot that you existed"
The snake turning into butterflies at the beginning of the ME! video represented her transitioning from the reputation era (snakes were a big part of this era) to the lover era. ME! was the first song to come out of the lover era so it makes sense why this was part of the music video
@@celiorAAAAAH I'm jealous! I only went to the São Paulo ones! (25/26), when I found out she sang Me and I wasn't there it felt like a personal attack
So very happy you loved ME! People seem to love or hate it with no middle ground. I think it's too 'bubblegum pop' for some. I just choose to revel in the fun & joy that the song and video inspire.
The message is so necessary given the amount of self doubt, Depression, and heartbreak in this life. Also, a great warning song in a relationship when one is not being appreciated. Cheers!
Justice for ME! Your reaction Luke was similiar to mine when this came out - pure joy ❤️. Please do the “Behind the scenes of the ME video” reaction - you’ll love it. Hugs from Lesa in 🇦🇺❤️
That’s the one where she said, “I want young girls to know, they are unique! They are fun! They are amazing! “ on Miss Americana (paraphrasing of course). She said she wanted the video to be about pastel, unicorns, castles, fun, goofy, over the top, “everything that makes me ME!”!! Paraphrasing again of course but, she just wanted a video full of fun, silly, unique, joyful sounds and imagery. ❤️😂❤️👏🙌🐍 You’ll have to watch that part in the documentary again, if you’d like. ☺️
Ahhhhhh I'm one of those people who recommended this for you in a comment awhile back, we all need more rainbows & unicorns, right? But the way she puts it so artistically (and figuratively) in the scenes is soooo fire to me :) Her catalogue of emotions is un paralleled. And Kittens! Je t'adore plus!
I think it's illegal that nobody has told you to look up BTS reacting to her billboard performance of ME! it really secured my opinion of it being a fantastic performance/live song
I've never understood the Me haters. Yes it's pure unadulterated sugary pop, not serious, not multi layered deep and meaningful poetry. It's just fun and feel good. What's wrong with that? I've always loved it, love that you get the fun of it too ❤❤❤
First released in 2014. "Swift told Billboard that the song captures how she felt about being 22 years old and the "possibilities of how you're still learning, but you know enough."
I think its such a fun light hearted song and the music video is BEAUTIFUL! Also, taylor has a lot of younger fans so its nice that theres songs like this thrown in the mix!
ME!, while not being one of my absolute favorites, holds a special place in my heart cause it’s the song that made me deep dive into Taylor’s discography. At the time I was a huge Panic! fan and just saw them in concert a couple of years before. Before that I was just a radio hits fan of Taylor, never disliked her for any reason, I just didn’t really listen to full albums from any artist, now I’m a huge swiftie and can name any of her songs within 1 second of hearing it. 😂
She’s always the year (‘24) plus 10 years since her birthday is at the very end of ‘89 in December. So this year she’s 34 until December 13th. Then she’ll be 35. So she was 22 when she wrote this.
Every time you ended a Taylor session crying and asking if there was just anything happy and fun, I thought of ME! Knew you’d appreciate the vibe and creativity! I know I’ve come to appreciate it more and more over the years! I really think we were all just thrown off with Me! Coming off of Reputation, but really enjoy it now! Love their voices together! I like that you can see how so many people can connect to Taylor’s music, GREAT reaction!
23:49 Exactly!! She’s so appealing to throngs of people because she has so much diversity, it’s so relatable to each of us. She’s a very rare artist who regardless of the genre, she quite literally has at least one song in her repertoire that people can relate to. ❤️🥰❤️ So she dominates the music world due to her genuine passion.
There is a super adorable when she met the kitten (now her kitten Benji) for the first time and realizing that he is free for adopted and showing him to her dad. She is so excited
As soon as saw the title, I knew today was gonna be a good day! Also people who hate Me! hate happiness, plain and simple, me is so much fun, I love it (not me commenting before watching, if you hate it it's gonna be so sad lol)
At the beginning when they are in apartment, they say “ there’s a lot of cool chicks out there) they show photos of chicks on the wall, one is of the “ Dixie chicks” 😝
I can't understand people that don't like "ME!" I respect their decision, but it is a song that makes me just wanna giggle and dance, and feel so happy!
Taylor is an ALBUM singer: she creates entire experiences from beginning to end, so please listen to and react to the whole album at once. Always love watching your joyful reactions!
The Me! video was everything she hoped it would be in Miss Americana and more. Will always love it and be glad Taylor got to let out all her glittery, shiny, theatre kid happiness after the very rough and hateful period when “the world fell out of love with” her thanks to Kayne & Kim’s conniving and lots of suppressed jealousy. She needed her happy dance and like everything she does, it was go big or go home. She and Brendon sounded great together as well.
You are definitely going to love ME. Yes, there are different opinions about both the song and the music video (not unlike the different opinions about shake it of) a lot of people think that this song is simple, to bubble-gum popy, childish. But in my opinion they don’t get the genius of this song. Plus it is Taylor’s love anthem to her self but also a selfie love anthem especially for her younger fans. I love ME and the goofiness and bright colors in the video
The snake into butterflies at the start is showing the end of the Reputation era snake into butterflies for her Lover era. My granddaughters and I love it but it seems many fans do not feel the same. ❤🎉😊
A lot of fans don't like Me because it's not as deep as they'd like. They seem to forget that per her own words in Miss Americana the song was more for the little girlies that listen. She wants them to have a song that they can sing and dance to, screaming me-he-he-he at the top of their lungs. Also fun fact Brendon was asked in an interview while promoting his album Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die back in 2013-2014ish who his dream collaboration would be and he said Taylor Swift. 4 or 5 years later his dream came true!!!
I think the entire album reactions in one sitting are the best. Sometimes reactors will split the main album tracks and the vault tracks (if any) into separate videos
My 22 story goes as follows (will try to keep it brief). I was born in '86, so I was in my mid 20s when 22 came out. I live in the university town Stellenbosch in South Africa. So by this time, a group of my friends and I were all still busy at the university. I was doing my postgraduate already and my friends were finishing up Law and Business degrees. 22 was one of our absolute JAMS when we were getting ready to go out to bars and clubs in town! One of our besties was also a DJ at our University radio station at the time and she had the graveyard shift between 3am-7am. We'd literally go out, dance and drink till 2am, then walk her to the radio station for her shift. Quite a few times the rest of us would get food and jam outside the station to her entire slot until 7am... We'd get coffee with her and literally stumble to our 8am classes 🤣 Man... I miss having that much energy and bounce back ability in my 20s 😂 It's also so crazy to think that 22 is on the same album as All Too Well! Loved your reaction, thank you!
You need to watch the behind the scenes video for Me! and the live version they did at the American Music Awards. I don't understand the hate for the song, I love it!
Me is so fun, my kids love it. Not everything needs to be so serious. I can't wait for you to see long pond studio sessions just to unlock all of folklore for your playlists. So good.... also i think your would LOVE the video for I'll bet you think about me. So fun 😊
The album you bught SHOULD arrive on release day, April 19th. Sometimes if there's a mistake or some kind of trouble it can come a bit late, or even a day before (but that's really unlikely, they want to be really careful with stuff like that)
Taylor has said in interview that if you want to know what’s in her head just watch this video. Colors, unicorns, kittens & glitter….i like what’s in her head. 😊edited to add: I’m sure I wasn’t the only one laughing & yelling 1989!! 🤣
The video for ME! is really cool, I'll give it that. I'm glad it was a good palette cleanser for you after all the sad stuff. This was a fun reaction - instant mood lifter, as you said. 😁

For more context on why 22 is so important, in All Too Well 10 minutes version the dad says it is supposed to be fun turning 21 because Jake wasn't there on her birthday also there is a song in red The Moment I knew is about that party turning 21, and now in 22 also a red song is celebrating her birthday
I was going to make sure this comment was in here!❤
Yes! I was hoping someone mentioned this. This is my favorite Taylor Trilogy. It is so beautifully laid out from beginning to end. 🥰
If you wanted to do this on a Tuestay video reaction, you could do the lyric versions to All to Well (10 min version), then The Moment I Knew (TV), and end with 22 (tv)
@@AjBanana09 yeees i hope he read this comments :')
For next Tuesday I recommend two of the four music videos of Midnights:
Antihero
Bejeweled
Karma
Lavender Haze
NO ICE SPICE. Noooooo Ice Spice hahahha
@@Hey_Jamie 😂 I would also prefer the video without her, just the album version. 😅
Yes to all of these!
Yes all of this 😢
Oh def bejewelled
I love "ME!" too. I'm so happy that you did also. As of 4-8-24, the song had 842,377,683 streams on Spotify alone. Guess lots of people love it. "Slut" is a catchy song. You'll like it. Those were some of Taylor's real friends in the "22" video. I'm glad that you had a happy Tuesday reacting to those 2 Taylor videos. Fun fact: Although the album that "ME!" is from, "Lover", came out in 2019, "Lover" is still in the Top 15 of the Top 200 album chart this week.
If you actually love ME, then you should totally check out the live version which they both performed...... it's literally so so so good.
Oh yes, that would be a cool reaction live party to have!
I love the behind the scenes for Me! Taylor trying to perfect her french is so sweet.
i think its such a no brain, only vibes, pure bubblegum pop song that a lot of taylor fans who expect stellar lyricism and not such a pure sugary pop sound from her were disappointed. especially with this album coming after rep
your enthusiasm for ME! is healing my little swiftie heart though :)
@darsynia same, plus i think ME wouldve been fun on the eras as a singalong tbh
❤️❤️❤️
The ragdoll cat in the video is Benjamin Button (or Benji) she was adopted by Taylor when this music video was made (she fell in love with him instantly) and she’s also the cat in the Miss Americana documentary where you see him walking on the piano keys while Taylor was about to play. He is also the cat draped on Taylor’s shoulder in her recent Time Person of the Year magazine cover
I’m thrilled you waited to watch Me! until your voice came back. Your enthusiasm at full volume was desired and required. You should also watch the Billboards Music Awards live performance of it. It’s epic!
You HAVE to watch the behind the scenes video of ME! It’s so heartwarming 😊
FOR FRIDAY - LONG POND STUDIO SESSION MOVIE PLEASE!!!!! (I had to put it in here just to make sure) 😁
Agreed❤❤❤
Yes!
It really is just a happy song!! ❤
Agreed!
- Then, if the date is between December 13th and December 31st, add 1
That's it!
It's so funny to see someone explain how to calculate Taylor's age in such detail because it's my birthday too so I've done this math my whole life 😅
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
You will love her performance of Me! Live at the 2019 billboard music awards it’s so fun
“Slut!” Is soooo good! It’s not what you expect! Listen!! Omg do the 1989 TV vault tracks next Tuesday 🥹👍
ME! is so underrated, I love that song so much, it's so fun and a happy song
22 hits harder when you know what happened on her 21st birthday 😭
YES! I hope one day he reacts to The Moment I Knew, it's heartbreaking.
I’ve always loved ME! I was surprised so many people didn’t like it. lol
And I know you do too🥰
For those who don´t know Taylors 3 writing pens they are:
QUILL PEN SONGS: (songs with lyrics that make you feel old fashioned. like a 19th century poet writing by candle light)
Like - "Ivy", "Tolerate it" and " My tears Ricochet"
FOUNTAIN PEN SONGS: (modern personal stories written like poetry where you can see every detail)
Like - "Champagne Problems", "All to well" and "Right where you left me"
GLITTER GEL PEN SONGS: (song that make you wanna dance, songs where you just have fun and don´t take yourself too seriously) Like - "ME!", " We are never ever getting back together" and " I forgot that you existed"
The snake turning into butterflies at the beginning of the ME! video represented her transitioning from the reputation era (snakes were a big part of this era) to the lover era. ME! was the first song to come out of the lover era so it makes sense why this was part of the music video
She was born Dec. 13, 1989. Yes she was 22 at that time.
Fun fact she turned 13 on Friday the 13th.
A LOT of people don't like ME! or just have it really low on their Taylor's Songs Rankings but I actually really like it
I LOVE Me! It makes me so happy! 😍
i got it as a surprise song at one of my eras tour concerts and eeeeeeeeverybody were singing - myself included. it was a shook
I LOVE ME! I was so sad when I learned so many people dislike it, that song is joy and self-love personified.
@@celior wait!!! It was already a surprise song at one of the concerts?? I had no idea, but I love that!
@@liliphdr it was! Rio night three!!
I would love full album all at once for the tortured poets reaction. Full on Chats and Reacts style.
Also also! She sang Me! As a a surprise song in Brazil, people went NUTS! they like talking crap but you can't be sad singing to me with taylor
I WAS THERE 🗣️🗣️🗣️
@@celiorAAAAAH I'm jealous! I only went to the São Paulo ones! (25/26), when I found out she sang Me and I wasn't there it felt like a personal attack
She was SO HAPPY with the reaction!!!
@@celior omg im sooo jealous!
Me! was one of my surprise songs at The Eras Tour and it was SO MUCH fun! I went to 3 shows and it was one of the best moments of all 3.
The making of this video was good. She kept the kitten
Benjamin!
Awwww 🥹
You’ll have to watch that part in the documentary again, if you’d like.
I dressed like Brendan at the Billboard "Me" performance for Eras tour. With a handpainted suit and boots.
What???? 🤯🤯🤯

If you do SLUT, please just do all 5 of the 1989 vault tracks, they’re soooo good!!!
Taylor’s merch comes slowly. So it might come later than the release date, but it’ll be available on streaming!
22 was the Red album; 2012 release date. _BEFORE_ her December birthday, so yes, she wrote it when she was 22.
My son was lucky enough to see her last year on his 22nd birthday! He was loving every moment 🎉
The you need to calm down bit at the beginning was a nod to You Need To Calm Down song. I love it, it is happy.
I still think a “musical journey” by listening to the albums in order would be awesome. The evolution is amazing to see…and hear
I don’t care what anyone says about Me! I see it for what it is and it makes me happy!
22 came out when I was 21 years old and in college. It was my anthem at the time! I will always love it ❤
ME! and 22 are the happiest and funnest songs ever
I miss these days 😊
You should also, watch her and Brenden sing this live, at the Billboard music awards, really good.
Can you do her BBC 1 Radio live performance 🥺 she sang a couple songs including a Phil Collins cover!! Her talent shines in her performance there!
LONDON BOY!!!!! MAROON!!!!
You should watch her and Brendon perform this LIVE! It was epic!
When two beautiful minds get together you get the song and video Me
My 22 story goes as follows (will try to keep it brief).
We'd get coffee with her and literally stumble to our 8am classes 🤣
Man... I miss having that much energy and bounce back ability in my 20s 😂
It's also so crazy to think that 22 is on the same album as All Too Well!
Loved your reaction, thank you!
Honestly I never knew people disliked this song until the eras tour last year
You need to watch the behind the scenes video for Me! and the live version they did at the American Music Awards.
So fun 😊
Lots of people hate on Me!, but I think it’s a fun song and the video is simply amazing!
The album you bught SHOULD arrive on release day, April 19th. Sometimes if there's a mistake or some kind of trouble it can come a bit late, or even a day before (but that's really unlikely, they want to be really careful with stuff like that)
Mine typically arrives about 5 days after release. It’s says on shipping it will ship on release day
Taylor has said in interview that if you want to know what’s in her head just watch this video. Colors, unicorns, kittens & glitter….i like what’s in her head. 😊edited to add: I’m sure I wasn’t the only one laughing & yelling 1989!! 🤣
PLEASEEE react to lover (live from Paris)
YESSS! we love tuestays!!

Me! isn’t exactly my fav song but the music video is so chaotically Taylor Swift I can’t help but love it
They do a live performance of Me! as the opening of one of the Awards show. It is spectacular !
The video for ME! is really cool, I'll give it that. I'm glad it was a good palette cleanser for you after all the sad stuff. This was a fun reaction - instant mood lifter, as you said. 😁
