Honestly thank you for starting this channel. I'm constantly convincing myself I can't work as photographer and everything you're saying is very inspiring. Being able to see your behind the scenes video so far and realizing thats pretty much exactly what im doing already with my "for fun" shoots really helps me break down the barriers I keep convincing myself are in the way.
This comment makes me so happy! It takes a lot of hard work, but you absolutely CAN work as a photographer. The starving artist mentality is no longer a thing, we can all do this for a living and eat!

Good for you Kelsey. As a college professor who also does photography on the side, I understand how difficult it can be to do the 9-5 (I have had those jobs as well) and the importance of finding your niche in life. I wish you the best in this new venue.

I think what matters is finding either the job that fosters your passion or a passionate hobby that allows you to view it as a reward for the 9-5. Both fill a need. Anyway, I have enjoyed going along on your travels over the past couple years on Instagram.
My girlfriend does a lot of Instagram posts for fashion. I am trying to get into photography and videography now. I was going to say the quality was very high for someone with low subscribers! Keep up the work!
@@heykelseyj yeah it's so much fun compared to my 9:00 to 5:00. I'm trying to make the transfer myself. I'm a truck driver right now and only have the weekends off. I can make it work for a TH-cam channel barely but I'll need more flexible hours to make it more than a sidegig. I really only liked video until we got together. Made me realize I enjoy photography too. Thank you for the reply.

Ha! I was gaining 1K a day while I was growing fast 2018-2020, you can check social blade to see those stats for a solid fact check. I switched my niche after Covid, which steadied out my growth but I appreciate a skeptic lol 😅
