I was on this cruise from Melbourne to pacific Islands end of January till second week of February and enjoyed immensely . Watching your video recollected every moment I spent on this beautiful ship. Thank you for the video
Loved the tour, especially because you filmed it in Astoria! I don't live too terribly far away in Battle Ground WA and have crossed that bridge many times!💕
Thank you Vicki, My scooter is a godsend on these cruises. I am able to enjoy it so much better. Even though my knee is somewhat better it’s still it’s not good enough to walk the length of the cruise ship two or three or four times a day. ❤️
Thank you for the tour of your mini suite and all the helpful information. We are booked for our first cruise to Alaska on the Grand in Aug 2024. Like you, we booked a mini suite on Dolphin Deck, so I'm guessing our room will look like the one you stayed in.
Great video! We will be on Crown Princess for a 15-day to Hawaii, the ship just got out of dry dock so I am hoping many of the enhancements you saw in your stateroom will be upgraded to the Crown as well.
Hi Arlynn, love the video! Just checking, I got a message saying it was from you but it clearly wasn’t, with a click the link thing.. Enjoy your holiday!
Thanks for posting this. Going on my first Princess cruise for my birthday in September 2024 and booked a balcony (mid-fwd, starboard). However, am trying to decide if spending the extra money to book a mini-suite is worth it? Cruise is already a bit more than I was budgeting for so total cost is a consideration and I’m not interested in putting in a bid for the upgrade to a mini-suite as I’m particular on my cabin location. Any thoughts as to balcony vs mini-suite? Is the mini-suite worth the extra $$ and do you get other amenities with it for the cost?
Hi Fluffytail6355--I would go ahead and keep your balcony. The only upgrades to a mini would be to a tub/shower combo in the bathroom, a couch, chair, and a coffee table, and an extra tv in the living space as you saw here in this video. I can share a video of a balcony room that we had on the Ruby Princess one year, I feel sure it would be similar to what you have booked. Here is a link: th-cam.com/video/cLpegD6cTPs/w-d-xo.html
@@ArlynnsCountryCraftCorner thank you so much for your comment and opinion. I don’t think the mini-suite upgrade is worth it for us based on what you described. I appreciate your honesty so much and your feedback. I think I’d sleep better staying within the budget I’ve already committed to so far, so I will keep my balcony suite.
We're going on our 1st cruise (to Alaska on the Grand) in Jun'24 and will have a Balcony room (not a mini suite) on the Baja Deck. Will it have a lot of the same features as this one? I'm definitely wondering about the shampoo conditioner & bodywash.
Hi there, I’m so glad that you watched this video. I was going to link it for you. That room on the Ruby is much like the room that you will have on the Grand. I don’t think your balcony will be quite as large as what we had on the Ruby on the Caribe deck. Everything else will be pretty much identical. :)
Hi Anita, here is another one of my video tours of a balcony stateroom. This one will be very much like the one you will be staying on on the Grand except that your balcony won't be quite this large. th-cam.com/video/cLpegD6cTPs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=aF7opZ8JpHNVsU-x
Arlynn did you feel in Alaska it mattered what side of the ship you were on? Port or starboard? I keep hearing starboard is better for one way northbound. Can't decide it I should bid on a Mini suite which does not guarantee location or keep my balcony
Hi Beth, I've heard that starboard is better for the Northbound Voyage of the Glacier too, but, honestly, I've been on both port and starboard and don't see that much of a difference. I will say that the Port side (no matter which Alaska cruise itinerary one does) will pull up first to the show stopping glacier "Margerie Glacier" in Glacier Bay, The captain will sit with the port side facing the glacier for 1/2 hour and then pivot the ship so that the starboard side has equal viewing time. We always choose port side no matter our itinerary if I'm honest. :) (Also, I don't care to do a bid without knowing exactly where on the ship I will end up...too risky for my taste...but, that said, we really prefer Mid-aft Port side for all cruises). :)
Thanks, Arlynn for giving us a tour of your mini suite!
I'm glad you all are having a relaxing time. 🌹
Happy Birthday Arlynn! Your room looks wonderful.
