You do need to brush up on your bible stories WH! The diorama of Jesus lying under the cross was him falling beneath the weight of his burden. I wish you told one of your fictional stories about the old motel. I love those stories and your creativity. But, even without a made up story, it is a great video. Thank you for doing this!
I have always seen many Europeans traveling the entirety of Route 66, usually on motorcycles, when I take much shorter trips on Route 66. I wonder if the fascination is due to Europe never having had such a major migration as happened on Route 66 (including some of my relatives). 🤔
So, the "don't breed" reminded me of Alan Saxe, my polysci prof at UTA. That class was kind of like having Johnny Carson as your teacher. One day the lights went out in the back of the classroom. Something was going on back there and he stopped speaking, then he yelled, "No breeding back there!" Students were so distracted he finally dismissed class. Hilarious!
Texas is pretty straight. It’s like saying. I’m old I’m grumpy and get off of my lawn ! But I love my state but I think Texas needs to loosen their collars a bit with the weed thing. Nice video as usual. I love how you put them together. Stay safe stay healthy
Very informative I enjoy your videos all your fun sense of humor, positive energy. I’m sure you know this the wooden windmill was used as a water pump pump in the ground and the windmill pump the water usually into a water tank, but I’m sure you knew that thank you again for all your fun. It really helps out in tough times.
Made a video of the old Texas Longhorn steakhouse and motel back in 2019. The roof was still intact on the rooms in the back and there were more signs of recent habitation. Guess after the dispensary went in, the Longhorn was cleaned up as well for some anticipated business of another type on the TX side. Also, right across the old 66 lays the remnants of the old, Choctaw route of the Rock Island line. Rails were ripped out in the mid 80s after The Rock went belly up in 1980.
What a fantastic video, Sara! Meeting that guy from Switzerland who seemed to be a cool dude. That hippie shrine was a trip. And unusual to see here in Texas for sure. Some of these places I already seen on a TH-cam channel called "Through my lens" a few years back. Thanks so much for sharing with us. Really enjoyed this one, and you were funny. Don't pee in a field again here in Texas.
No nukes! Became "no nuclear power!" In America, now the US is fifty years behind the rest of the world in nuclear energy production. Green party eradicated true green energy.
CND or Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament was the organization that first used Houltons design. That was in Great Britain in the late 50’s. It eventually was used by the Civil Rights movement in America and then as a general sign for peace and the major antiwar symbol to protest the war in Vietnam.

Actually the Roman torture instrument wasn't a cross but a timber on top of a - permanent pole at a place. And the unfortunate person intended to die, had arms over the timber to carry their weight, and also nails hammered through their heels on both sides of the pole.
@@sallycollins2445 Old bodies from Roman times have been found still with nails left in the heel! I was hoping 🙏 you were going to visit The Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Groom, TX east of Amarillo. You did miss the tomb which is directly below the crucifixion. Wow, what difference in the looks of what I call the Amarillo cross complex and the Cadillac Ranch pigsty.
Also the Stations Of the Cross are in order Counter clockwise 1 thru 14.. Stopped there a few times. AWESOME !!!!! all the way from Pa... The Big Texan Steakhouse, definitely worth a stop. The Iconic, Blue Swallow motel on rt66 in Tucumcari N.M.great overnight-er.
I don't know much about Texas, except the dude on the Harley had the right idea just passing through. Sorry Texans...Your in your own world down there. Good episode!
Amsterdam has some good seeds! They mail them to us. And they have good instructions on planting them up too. All my exes live in Texas and Texas is the place I truly want to be. So I hang my hat in Tennessee!
I always feel uncomfortable within 100 miles of Amarillo because of the Pantex plant, I do not want to be close to where nuclear explosives are being made and dismantled.
I live 30 miles away from a place where nuclear research occurs non stop. We even had the first nuclear reactor accident ( SL-1 ) .... We have no cancer rates higher then anyone else.... We also have a huge amount of nuclear storage ( 3 mile island remnants ) Doc.
In some circles, leaving your name at the cross is equivalent to leaving your sins at the cross. Some actually write the sin they carry with them and cannot seem to overcome. Leaving it at the cross, leaving it behind.
The dust bowl was in North Dakota too! Maybe Canada. It was the whole middle of the country. You can still see where the sand dunes piled up in the section lines by the farm I grew up on.

You missed Slug Bug Ranch at the next exit from the Leaning Water Tower. Awesome Video!
Amarillo and Shamrock are my favorite Route 66 Texas stops. It has been a long time since I went through that area.
I don't know much about Texas, except the dude on the Harley had the right idea just passing through. Sorry Texans...Your in your own world down there. Good episode!
Awesome video!!!!
Fun video. FYI: The bombs in WW2 were atomic. No nuclear bombs have been dropped thus far. 🤞
Being In West Texas . . You Need To Listen To Terry Allen, or Paul Newman in 'Cool Hand Luke' . . ' Plastic Jesus '
Ya just may need to live a trifle further afield if one of the chaps goes off, 49. Add another 0, perchance ?
On Feb 7, 1964 @ 1:20 p.m. the Beatles landed @ JFK airport

On December 25, 1964 @ 2:14 pm I landed in a hospital in central Ohio!

Yep, I think ed Sullivan show was Feb 9, 1964. I'm old enough to have seen it.
Oh Sara you missed the super clean restroom ..it is remarkable!
Hi Sarah, I have a feeling that, that Peace Park was at least in part was created by one or more Baha'i. If you are so inclined and have the time goggle the Baha'i Faith. Love you channel and happy trails.
I admire your free spirit and ability to travel and not nailed down to a job ! lol ! By this time you are in Oklahoma ! Welcome and Enjoy my beautiful home state ! don't forget to stop at Pops in Arcardia and see the large pop bottle and the thousands of brands of sodas , kinda of cool
It looked like a dust bowl heading across Texas to the eclipse, nice mural and silos at the midpoint.
That water tower.. there used to be a truck stop there.
The huge cross.. at night it is well lit and when it’s foggy.. it looks really cool.
02/07/1964 I was in Aiea, Oahu, Hawaii, Age 4.

Saint Christopher the patron Saint of Travellers
Texas doesn't need drugs, we got tequila and hot women.
There is a nearly 200ft tall cross at Effingham IL (it looks surprisingly like the one in your vid). Thanks for sharing your road trip!
