I know this is 8 years too late
But, the un crushed head gasket on it could be 0.0070 just with 1 head bolt in
The crushed gasket thickness could be 0.0020
So what ever measurement you get it could be out by 0.050, and if you only want 0.065 like he said and you measure 0.065, that only leave 0.015 for thermal expansion
That engine will 100% guaranty have piston hit valves once it gets warm
Hence why it's best practice to check all of this without the head gasket ( unless the gasket is super thick) then add back in the crushed thickness to the clearance, normally the manufacturer can tell you the thickness if it's not listed on the box

I have a Honda k20 engine. I have 1mm oversized dished valves on the intake and I have stock size flat faced valves on exhaust side. Is this a good set up?
For demonstration purposes,we probably should ignore the the rocker geometry here.
I think he's not going to be using those pushrods in that engine...or he is REALLY going to sink into the hydraulic lifters when he fits them.
Correction, you take a comparable lifter and weld it up solid so there is no squish (so hydraulic doesnt compress)
With the light weight checking springs the lifters don't compress.
Shut that sound OFF and just read the subtittles.
Get rid of the ridiculous music. Why does everyone on TH-cam ruin their videos by playing music.
