  • Night Photography On Medium Format With The Bronica S2A and Portra 400
    In today's video, I take you guys along with me as I go out to do some night photography on medium format film with my Bronica S2A and Portra 400. I Just got this Bronica S2A and I've already made some photos that I am really happy with while testing it with a few rolls of Kodak Portra 400. In this video, I went shooting with a guy named Jake who I met in the last video. Jake is a really cool guy who is very interested in film photography, so it was fun to hang out and show him everything I've learned so far about shooting film at night. I hope you enjoy the video! :)

      I was hoping someone would enjoy that joke haha and right?! The Bronica S2A is very similar to a hasselblad if you don't want to pay the extra money. Thanks for watching bro!

    That’s great thanks so much for that , I haven’t shot or actually held a medium format camera yet ! That’s how amateur hobbyist I am .. but have the love for film so bad… isn’t it a feeling in the gut that makes you feel so incredibly good … that click ..
    That sound the waiting or developing that one thing that you and only you have created is a wonder of life itself isn’t it ..
    Thanks again.

    Great video man! It’s cool to see Potra and Cinestill side by side on the same subjects. I just started shooting film last month (after about a year of shooting digital) and I just did my first night shoot last night! It’s amazing what you can find just walking around the neighborhood. Hoping to use the remainder of my Cinestill to investigate downtown Wichita.

    New subscriber here. You should make a video on how you meter for night scenes. I’m just getting into film photography and it seems that most of the TH-camrs just do it and don’t explain what they are doing shooting at night! I’d like to hear your explanation!

    Really looking forward to new material Reimann.
    A quick question regarding the Bronica .. I’m in the market for 120 format .. especially the MAMIYA models ..
    Was just wondering about Bronica ? I loved your photos with your Bronica ..
    I just stumbled on a Bronica Sq for sale and wondered if you have any info on this model ?
    It’s a great price and looks mint.
    Thanks again.

      I posted a video on Sunday about a trip I Took to Los Angeles, so I'd recommend that video if you haven't seen it yet! Also, I've heard the Bronica SQ cameras are very good! I've never used one, but I think Brae Hunziker has a couple videos about the SQ models on his channel if you want a good source for more info.

    Hey, haha saw your Ultramax at night video a while ago, and you said you normally overexpose by 2 stops. Haha I went out to shoot ultramax a while ago, and according to my Nikon F80 internal light meter, I overexposed the shots at +2 exposure and even some +3, yet still the images weren't good and some of them were muddy at the underexposed part. Fraustrated the hell out me. Haha maybe ultramax isn't good at low light? maybe the film lab is bad? haha I have one more roll, I'll try overexposing +4 and the shadows and maybe not 3d matrix but centre weight metering.
    Any thoughts or tips?
    Thanks

    • @ReimannPembroke
      @ReimannPembroke  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there sorry you didn’t have good results. What I do is use a spot meter on my phone and meter for shadows. The phone meters can get tripped up by street lights and things so I try to block it out. Also if you want the overexposed look, make sure not to tell the lab you use because they will often try and process your film differently to compensate.

    • @booleanvisuals8564
      @booleanvisuals8564 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ReimannPembroke okey thank you! I'll try spot metering next time. Haha I guess this is the film process, try and error till you find what works best
