I remember watching THAT try as a lightee with my Dad. We still / years later - talk about it. That was a memorable victory because of the emotion attached to beating the ABs in NZ. And that is how it always is: Bokke vs the ABs is THE match every year. Delight when the Boks win / depression when they don’t. I also remember the 4 tries against France - and am grateful for all the entertainment Mr.Roussouw that you have when wearing a WP or Bok jersey. You, Dick Muir and others made running rugby a pleasure to watch!
Somehow you never forget those All Blacks games! Win or lose, they stick in your mind and help to build the lore around the rivalry. Still the greatest in the world if you ask me!
I remember watching Pieter playing his first 3 seasons at FB. Although very slippery, he seemed to lack confidence, perhaps it was his inexperience. But when he changed to 11, he transformed into an exceptional player! Great servant to SA rugby 👌
If memories serves me right, Jacques Fourie was another player who started his professional career at FB but after moving to 13, he changed gears and became an exceptional player!
