i recommend trying it on a sandy or smooth surface road with using a worn out tire or minimal traction tire. also do it fast and hard pumped tirefor less friction. and try pulling from your dominant foot.
Oh! Well that comes from intense cyclocross remounts and dismounts training: I was so not good at it that I had to practice a lot. Thanks for watching!
I’m a bit confused because of the brakes. Was your rear wheel on the freewheel or the fixed cog? And also can you have brakes and fixed rear wheel together? I ride with a fixed rear and a small emergency brake only on the front.
as soon as i figured it out i was hooked, its a crazy game where I find a shwalbe marathon for the rearand get a month out of it. Discopline myself only to skid when its a fun one, ect. for urban riding in traffic its easier to manuver the bike and your head for shoulder checks when you are in a skid rather than backpedaling.
I have tried but I cant get it... They do say the gearing helps so maybe I need to change that, its 44/16 at present. I can do it no problem with the brake, but fixed skid seems impossible...
I started seeing progress when I started “lifting” my weight from the rear wheel, and shifting part of my weight forward; It made it easier to block the rear wheel .
i prefer this to a normal how to, as u get to see a lot more of the smaller adjustments instead of just the basic steps
Weight shift, whip and SPEED all help to BREAK TRACTION and therefore skid.
It's essentially inefficient braking :D

Can't wait to see your next extra long skid challenge with a few of Mtl's best skid skibidy kids
You know what I learned from this. How to smothly dismount from a fixie using cleats. Your doing it so natural.

I like how u explain simply
Thank you! Much appreciated.
I love your moustache
No comment other than... well done! ;)
Thanks!

Excellent video ❤
Thank you dog.
Im also lean like that...sometimes i got little bit jumping when skid😅😅😅
good video bro
Prochain vidéo, comment montrer à skid à un coureur! :p
Slamming into the side of a taxi seems to be an effective method of stopping 😲
At least that’s what I’ve seen in a few of the fixie videos 🤷♂️
Needs more sideways whip.
I wanna skid without putting body weight in front like you did 😅 but I can't
I don’t think it’s possible… at least not as a beginner like me.

It’s fixed. I keep the brakes on because I used to ride freewheel in cyclocross races.
@@AndreasIhm Thank you! Appreciate the response and enjoyed the video. I’ll put into practice what you shared tomorrow.
U already know the basic .Try ride downhill ..skid by ur instinct .
Thanks for the tips!
it takes a month if you are not racing track and crit before you try learning to skid!
Hey, thanks for watching! I have some experience on a track, but never did I ever thought of skidding back then ! Still, maybe it helped me a bit.
