    Happy new years guys . We have a new vlog all the way from the homeland. We went Kribi in Cameroon and visited the Chutes de La Lobe falls, Kribi Light House, the Kribi Slave Monument and the Port in Kribi. Hope you enjoy , xxx

    I greatly enjoyed this! I was a Peace Corps volunteer English teacher at the Lycee de Kribi from 1995-1997. I remember those beautiful beaches and delicious grilled fish. Quite a bit here looked familiar, some did not (I don't believe there was a port yet when I lived there). One day I will visit again.

    Cameroon is so green 🥰
    I feel for your boyfriend not really having options of food to eat🙈 it’s a struggle

    • @giselemusevlogs
      @giselemusevlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cameroon is a rainforest country. So it is very green.
      Jochem (my boyfriend) had issues with food mostly in Kribi because the diet contains alot of fish - and he is vegan. But normally, we don't cook with milk, cheese or diary products, so he mostly just took out the meat/ fish from all the meals. 😊

    What was the name of that restaurant with the yellow that you got the drinks from

    • @giselemusevlogs
      @giselemusevlogs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Thomas - it did not have a name (not that I asked either). But it is right at the 'Light house' in Kribi. Do that would be the best way to find it. Hope this was helpful

    Did you mostly drive everywhere? For non Cameroonians would you recommend renting a car or are there other means to travel from Yaoundé to Kribi?

    • @giselemusevlogs
      @giselemusevlogs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, yes we drove everywhere and we used my parents' car. Just like anywhere else, if you want the flexibility and comfort, I would say rent a car. Otherwise there are mainly buses which can take you to every city. And can also take you from Yaounde to Kribi directly.

    How did your boyfriend cope driving in kribi? Oh I feel so sorry that he didn't have a lot of variety when it came to food

    • @giselemusevlogs
      @giselemusevlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jochem loved driving in Cameroon. He has been to about 10.other African countries and drove there as well. So it was not new to him.
      When we ate Eru for example, e just took.oyt the meat and fish. So for the most part food was not much of an issue for him 🤔, I would say 😇

    • @giselemusevlogs
      @giselemusevlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use taxis or motorbikes, which are very common. I cannot tell you about the cost, as I did not get to use any

    26:58 That text reads: Lieber Karl! Scheen Gruß von hier Dein Otto. "Scheen" is a wrong way, perhaps his local way of writing, of writing "Schöne". The text ist partially written with "Fraktur"-letters. A way many old people stuck to what they learned in school mixing German (mostly a the beginning of a word and for "ß") and Latin letters. Those special German alphabet was used up to WW II. I learned the characters at university. For vectors we used "German" letters to signify their being vectors instead of putting little arrows on top of Latin (standard) letters. So I guess your boyfriend didn't do mathematics at university. Or it has changed nowadays.
