Obviously we’ve had a chat and you know my thoughts, looking forward to seeing your next chapter mate, and don’t worry folks I’ll be picking up the torch!
The OG of TT content has spoken! The man him self! Brother between us I think the diy tt scene is well and truly safe for many years to come. Look forward to your new series of videos 😎
Hey you've done the TT justice , been watching a fair few vids lately helping me along with my 225 and my attempt at a channel 🤦🏻🤣 , regardless of your next project hopefully you'll keep producing content 👍🏻
I've been tempted on many occasions to sell mine but just haven't as I find doing bits to it and the drive just pulls me back to keeping it and that's 10 years on!
Glad it’s mate, I think if you were in my position dealing with them every day, working on and fixing multiple ones and getting 20-40 messages a day about them you may feel differently 😅
Well. I came to the TT game a little late, but I want to thank you. Your videos have helped me more than once. I am in the US and it is getting hard to get the parts I need already. I have had both fun and some grief wrenching on the TT. Not quite done yet. I wish the US had the following that your side of the pond has. Best of luck on your next rig. Be well. Cheers.
Thank you for the kind words mate, that’s a story I have heard many times from the us, parts are hard to source, expensive and then if needed finding a mechanic to work on them is even harder
Hey Thanks for rolling the TT as long as you have, I learned a bunch. I’m on my 2nd TT (it’s in the shop now) but I bought my first Aviator Gray TT brand new in 2000. Safe Travels Monty (USA)
alright mate you are a legend I will never sell mine to much money put into it and still not on road yet as had to buy another family car so on hold as I've got to replace oil pump chain tensioner costing £1000 that's all new bits timing belt water pump and pulleys you've been a great help over the years thank you
You have helped me countless times to do jobs on my MK1. Things I wouldn’t have dreamed of doing myself! Your videos walked me all of the way through. Thanks so much mate.
I had a roadster last year, loved it and you gave me some great help with it. Ended up swapping for what turned out to be a rot-box of a Sharan for 'family adventures' with my partner at the time. Of course the decision turned out to be a wrong one, and myself and my son have yearned for another ever since. Sadly not in a position to get another now, but the moment I can.....
Always the way, well hopefully you’ll get back in one soon enough and yourll always have an arsenal of videos on here to help you make it the best it can be
Good luck in the future m8, looking forward to seeing what you do with your cossie lump, will look forward to seeing your future endeavours regards Nigel 😎💥💥
Dom, you're a Mk1 TT legend! I only discovered your content a couple of years ago (after owning TTs since 2004). You've done a superb job on creating a massive following for the TT Mk1 in the UK with really insightful, honest advice for those who already own and those who are considering owning. Always great to see yourself and the range of your TT's at the local events. Your video content has always been excellent from fixing them to showing them off! Thanks for everything you have done over the years and hopefully see you at a TT event as an "honoured guest"! :)
Thank you for the kind words it’s been lovely to hear how I’ve managed to help / entertain everyone over the last few years and of course I’ll still be around with a few videos here and there and of course attending a few meets and seeing the beautiful cars. I’d like to think I’ll get back into a dsg one later in life but who knows
Sad to see you leave the TT game Dom. You've coached me through many mod ideas and, indeed, you coached me through my first Mk1 TT purchase. Never regretted it and I'll keep this car forever. You and BWS and Andycharger and Car Chris have been a great "team." Don't be a stranger.
Sorry to see it go Dom! But also definitely looking forward to what's next! Thank you for all your help over the years (I completely hear you on the clutch - my ankle's been playing up recently and you can really feel it)
True what you have said,i have had the same TT 180 Quattro twice,I sold it then a year later the wife bought it back from a dealer for my birthday as a surprise after I saw it parked up again all the best 👍
Oh wow, that's a bit of shock, but have to say I totally understand. You are the reason I took the plunge and bought my dream car! I hope you do stay around the TT scene. It will be interesting to see your future projects. Take it easy Dom, and hopefully see you again at some TT event soon. all the best, Si
Thanks si, I will still be at some meets and shows in the future, love the community the tt’s have made, the people really made it for me. If you need anything you know where I am 😎
@@TheParrottBros Its funny you should say that, i need a live in mechanic with a stockpile of parts, paid hourly in greggs sausage rolls. Seriously though, thanks for that, I'm sure I will be in touch at some point! look forward to seeing at a TT event soon.
Loved your content, thank you for helping the community with all your time and knowledge, only now just looking at my first TT Mk1 over the otherside of the pond here in NZ.
Sad you're finishing up, really appreciate all your expertise and contributions over the years. Your knowledge on the Mk1 has made me appreciate my car so much more. All the best in the future. Cheers from Australia.
You have been a great knowledgebase for the many faults/mods I had to do on my mk1 roadster. Like you however I'm having to sell mine as a 2 seater doesn't work with a wife, 2 dogs and a 4 month old baby so we're upgrading. Looking forward to the next chapter pal. Good luck.
Your videos are a big reason behind my decision to get a MK1 V6. Many people recommend the MK2 but your passion for the classic version really swung it for me. I don’t regret it. I must say it’s pretty surprising and sad that you’ve made this decision but such is life ….
Glad I’ve inspired you to get the car you wanted, for me the issue is I live and breathe tt’s. Always doing the same repairs on each one I have then teaching others to do the same. Not to mention answering over 30 messages a day about the same stuff 😂.

Thanks for the kind words. I see so many have a tt then leave for a year or three. Something always brings them back. They are a tough car to beat. Especially bang for buck
Ah thats a shame, but when you're minds made up its made up - You're of course going to keep the channel going with whatever you get next ... right? .... right? 😁 Much love for all the content to date, it's been a life saver more than once!
Hey bro, yeah the channel is staying and will be content a couple times a month if not more, some Tt, some new subjects but will see how it goes. Can’t get rid of me that easily 😅
I can see why you are doing what your doing fair play 👍 I wobbled a bit with mine when my wife was diagnosed with cancer as I knew I would struggle to find the time to work on it. But I’m rebooting the videos and soldiering through. Just welded a 3” sports cat in and she’s off for MOT again Friday 🤞 once she’s built though will be fully stripped chassis acid dipped and built back up for the collection in dry storage soon to be followed by my next project 😉 which is Japanese not German. Looking forward to see what you get next mate 👍

A shame, but understandable, Dom! Your content is always great and you always get straight to the point, so it's really easy to follow - I look forward to seeing what the future holds for you & the channel. It was a pleasure to meet you last year & have a long chat about the TT's, so hopefully see you at some events again soon! 🤙
Thanks for the comment it’s really appreciated. I’ll still be attending meets and shows where I can, I love the car and the platform just doesn’t suit me atm, well the manual anyway haha The future is an exciting one, we shall see what it brings soon enough
Not had a TT but own a s3 8l which is the exact same underneath bar minor differences Sad day as I have adapted these videos for tips and what to expect or even for ideas on prep and parts sourcing to restore my s3 You will be back on scene someday hopefully All the best on future projectz
I’ve had my mk1 225 for 9 years now. You helped get me in touch with Adam to get it back together… still working on that. I understand you I’m ready for a different platform. Wish you luck on you journey. My tt has been broken 3-4 years out of ownership just due to being young and broke I cant always afford it.
Gutted but understand your decision fully, I’ve debated selling mine but decided to hang onto her for a bit, do some subtle modifications etc… thank you for your TT content the last for years Dom👍🏼
Thank you for the comment means a lot, it can be awfully satisfying doing modifications your self, specially when they enhance the sound / drive of a car too.
at least there is some 300 videos for you to sift through and hopefully everything you need is there, good luck with TT owner ship it is a great thing 😎
All was good to have a change. Shore your miss it in the end. I wanted one form when they came out. I have had some work done so it’s staying for a good few years. (Clutch, exhaust and stage 1+ map) and I love it now so nice to drive. I understand I looking a changing my golf daily for an auto as my left foot cat take the traffic 😂 but don’t know what to get 🤷♂️ Have fun on your next adventure and looking forward to see what it may be.
Really good video, sorry to hear you are calling it a day on the Audis, but good to know you are going to be showing different kinds of cars. Also motorbikes, I think this channel is going to get bigger because of it.
I don’t think you will regret it. I sold mine as you know and I don’t regret it one bit. They’re old cars now and compared to modern stuff they just don’t cut it in my opinion. You’ll be a miss in the community though as you’ve really been pivotal. Good man.
Thanks mate, glad to hear you made the right decision moving on from yours and helps me know that I’ve made the right decision, I’m looking forward to getting stuck into a new challenge of some sort
Totally understand Dom, and thanks for all your help and advice! brill - thought the same thing a short while ago - just ended up buying an S$ aswell (your seats and blue haldex controller will be on my list - but don`t do facebook?)
Thanks for the kind words buddy it’s appreciated, basically all the big parts sold within a few hours of posting the list online, I knew they wouldn’t hang around long but that was madness haha
Yep, sold mine coupe two years ago, and considering convertible now, however it is a money pit. I wish there was some easy way or kit available to convert these to electric, perhaps rear wheel drive only.
Will watch your other content 100%. Always thought it would be good for you to switch up your niche. People on here with your character do really well! Looking forward to your new content
I totally understand dom part ex my 3,2 v6 mk1 for a gen 2 JCW mini cooper don't regret it but still miss the v6 would love if you do e some content on the JCW 😂👌loved watching your videos over the years
Thanks buddy, I’ll still be making the odd video as have a mountain of content still and my love for the platform is still there. Just not my passion for driving them
@@TheParrottBros It is so fine to drive thru warm summer showers. My prior roadster experience was in the '60's with an Austin-Healy BN-1, my first car. Saved 4 years. See my grin just thinking about it.
@@vicelse8980 that’s awesome! There is always that one car that made you fall in love with motoring, and if it was possible I’d keep all the cars I’ve enjoyed but then others won’t get to enjoy them as I have
i love my tt but im considering selling it and getting a modern mk3 tts. i cannot afford a ttrs that would be the car i really want but im thinking of keeping the mk1 tt 225 and buying a mk7.5 golf r and can continue to upgrade both. currently drive a honda civic as well for my beater car but its over 200k mileage would like to have a nice car to drive always and get rid of the beater
I feared the worst when you started on the kit car and it's come true! Real shame we're not going to see as much TT enthusiam from you but I totally get the reasons. Both yourself and BWS have kept me on point with my TT for the last few years and I now feel I may have to change too. However, Ifear that all I'll want is my TT back (I've had it 22 years) if I change it. I wish you all the best in your new adventures...but I am sad. Last point...your steering looks lot lighter than mine which is very heavy. Have you renewed the pump or anything? There's no way my mk1 could be steered with a finger, it needs 2 hands. What did you do??
I think you should keep it peter, your 22 years into ownership there is no going back, both my self and bryn will likely be creating tt content for many years to come on and off as it is and always will be a passion of mine, Steering wise your pump could be on its way out, tt steering is always a little heavy but should not be that bad. do you know anyone else with a tt that you could try theirs?
They are a great car, specially the v6t S5, But ive already had the b8 s4 which was awesome during the 3 years of ownership but fancy something different 🙂
Sorry to see you part with TT, Q: noticed that one of the reverse lights seems to have a red sticker, if I remove the sticker will it shine white ..? Local MOT requires both left and right to shine white.
@@mhoga7899 it’s not a sticker it’s the way the lights are molded, they usually fade and discolour. Meaning you need to either polish it or replace the light usually
Your videos will always come in handy when I want to do stuff on mine. I was wondering if you were selling the cup holder and a MagSafe phone mount for the vents? I could not find them in the spreadsheet.
@@TheParrottBros I could not find the phone mount in the spreadsheet sadly. Maybe you have already sold it. Any tips on where I could find one that ships to The Netherlands?
@@harmkraats it’s not mag safe, it’s just a magnetic phone holder, you could adapt it to fit a mag safe to. Drop me an email or message and I’ll send you pics of what I have. And email / contact details in video description
I’m on my second TT and the monthly running costs are just not worth it for me anymore, I’m out on the motorbike any chance I get so the tt just sits on the drive, only 85k miles on it and it’s not sold in the 6 months I’ve had it up at a low price!
Wow Dom....the camels back has been broken 😭 I can emagine the constant turmoil you must have been going through with fix this fix that and enquiries of the huge fan base you have. Thats a weight off your shoulders. Relax a bit, i suspect your into the track scene now looking at your other stuff, whatever you go on to do I'm sure it'll be great. Good luck mate, look forward to seeing you sometime in the future. Thanks a lot for all the hard graft you've put into the TT family 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😀
Thank you for the kind words, I’ll still be about as have so much tt content in the wings, coupled with the fact I should be still attending the odd meet up. But yes few different plans so we shall see what the future holds 😊
I know you've said you aren't selling the car as a whole but would you sell it for the right price? I'm looking to possibly get my TT forged but would be much easier buying a complete car so would be interested. Have been watching you for years and have loved the TT content which has helped me in my ownership.
Thanks for the message, but unfortunately it’s going as parts, want to keep the rolling shell for the future and it’s better for me going off in parts for others to enjoy
Hey buddy, time for a change, have I made the right decision who knows but we’ll see haha. Those seats got sold to a friend of mine who’s still loving them now, and no liquid gauge I’m afraid. That’s one thing I’ve never had the chance to own

Thanks mate really appreciate it
All was good to have a change.
Shore your miss it in the end.
I wanted one form when they came out.
I have had some work done so it’s staying for a good few years. (Clutch, exhaust and stage 1+ map) and I love it now so nice to drive.
I understand I looking a changing my golf daily for an auto as my left foot cat take the traffic 😂 but don’t know what to get 🤷♂️
Have fun on your next adventure and looking forward to see what it may be.
Thanks mate appreciate the kind words. Traffic is a killer 😅😅
I love the MK1 TT, remember when it 1st came out and thinking it looked really edgy 😂
Look forward to the future content mate, in a dilemma myself so know how your feeling
Thanks mate, hope you make the right decision
Thanks for all the advice and work you’ve done Dom.
Thanks buddy appreciate that, you’ll still be seeing me about I’m sure
@@TheParrottBros I really hope so mate - I’m a bit gutted - but I wish you all the luck for your future endeavours and success!
@@mistatt-ho3gt means a lot mate
Back when i had my TT i loved your videos
Thanks Dom,enjoyed the content and used the "how to" regularly
Glad they are still getting put to good use 😎
Really good video, sorry to hear you are calling it a day on the Audis, but good to know you are going to be showing different kinds of cars. Also motorbikes, I think this channel is going to get bigger because of it.
Thanks buddy, been a tough decision but got to follow my gut and do what I enjoy, appreciate the comment 😎
I’m sure one day there will be an option available. I did look into it but for now too much agro haha
Thank you for all your great work!
Thanks mate 😅
My TT 3.2 manual is up for sale right now! I’ve scratched my VR6 itch, and fancy moving on to something more…Italian ;)
Unfortunately a manual would be no good to me I’m afraid , a few years ago i would have bit your hand off for it
Will watch your other content 100%. Always thought it would be good for you to switch up your niche. People on here with your character do really well! Looking forward to your new content
Thanks that means a lot, will be nice to get excited about a new project
Your content has been excellent! There is always the MkII with DSG options, those will need your expertise as well!
I’m keeping my options open for a while and going to drive a few diff cars see how i feel
@@TheParrottBros how about test driving some unusual cars for a bit ? Well unusual for us across the pond:-))
I totally understand dom part ex my 3,2 v6 mk1 for a gen 2 JCW mini cooper don't regret it but still miss the v6 would love if you do e some content on the JCW 😂👌loved watching your videos over the years
Thanks mate, appreciate that, you know what I’ve always been a fan of them and they have a pretty strong following. We will see what the future brings
All the best Dom, I’ll miss the wee chuckle 😂👍
Thanks buddy, I’ll still be making the odd video as have a mountain of content still and my love for the platform is still there. Just not my passion for driving them
From OH, I'll miss ya. You're part of my USB ports, brakes, input and exhaust, wheels.
Glad to have helped where I can mate, sure there will be plenty more content in the future 😊
@@TheParrottBros It's been a hoot. Just put the tonneau on for the summer. See my grin.
@@vicelse8980 now is your time, in between the summer showers 😅
@@TheParrottBros It is so fine to drive thru warm summer showers. My prior roadster experience was in the '60's with an Austin-Healy BN-1, my first car. Saved 4 years. See my grin just thinking about it.
@@vicelse8980 that’s awesome! There is always that one car that made you fall in love with motoring, and if it was possible I’d keep all the cars I’ve enjoyed but then others won’t get to enjoy them as I have
Learned a lot about tt,s from you cant thank you ennough
That’s brilliant to hear, glad my videos have been put to good use
Wow amazing journey brother
Thank you, time has flown and met some awesome people, new chapters going live in next two weeks
i love my tt but im considering selling it and getting a modern mk3 tts. i cannot afford a ttrs that would be the car i really want but im thinking of keeping the mk1 tt 225 and buying a mk7.5 golf r and can continue to upgrade both. currently drive a honda civic as well for my beater car but its over 200k mileage would like to have a nice car to drive always and get rid of the beater
I think you should keep it peter, your 22 years into ownership there is no going back, both my self and bryn will likely be creating tt content for many years to come on and off as it is and always will be a passion of mine,
Steering wise your pump could be on its way out, tt steering is always a little heavy but should not be that bad. do you know anyone else with a tt that you could try theirs?
A sad day indeed :(
But still... messaged you.
Haha
I like the motorbike Part !
There will be plenty of content coming soon then
I would love to see a Audi A5/S5 channel, the next upgrade from a TT?
They are a great car, specially the v6t S5, But ive already had the b8 s4 which was awesome during the 3 years of ownership but fancy something different 🙂
Belle vidéo 👌 😉. TT 👍
@@mhoga7899 depending what country your from you can either buy an euro cluster or uk cluster and just re wire the tail light
Gutted Dom....all good things come to an end
It’s been on the cards for a while now and thought no better time to do it, I’ll be back just when …..
Your videos will always come in handy when I want to do stuff on mine. I was wondering if you were selling the cup holder and a MagSafe phone mount for the vents? I could not find them in the spreadsheet.
Spreadsheet is on the home page of my website and in the description of this video, I should have a phone mount, don’t have a cup holder I’m afraid
@@TheParrottBros I could not find the phone mount in the spreadsheet sadly. Maybe you have already sold it. Any tips on where I could find one that ships to The Netherlands?
@@harmkraats I probably haven’t put it on there if there isn’t one listed, I have a couple shelving units full of stuff not listed yet 😅😅
@@TheParrottBros oh wow😅 Let me know if / When you will list it then :) Is it one with MagSafe for the iPhone?
@@harmkraats it’s not mag safe, it’s just a magnetic phone holder, you could adapt it to fit a mag safe to. Drop me an email or message and I’ll send you pics of what I have. And email / contact details in video description
Mate big call 🤙🏻
But all very understandable ❤
Thanks mate, means a lot from you
@@TheParrottBros you can still do a PT 2 anytime 😉😂👌🏻
Another solid video, sir. We released a Portable car Vacuum. Can we invite you to do a review? We have reached out for an inquiry.
Thank you, ive not received anything feel free to send me another message and i will keep an eye out for it
Best Whishes.
Thank you 🙂
How about moving on to a Mk2 TT dsg? Really enjoy your content
I’ve looked at the tts mk2 in the past but for now they are not for me
I’m on my second TT and the monthly running costs are just not worth it for me anymore, I’m out on the motorbike any chance I get so the tt just sits on the drive, only 85k miles on it and it’s not sold in the 6 months I’ve had it up at a low price!
Comparing it to a bike is always hard one as the ride in nice weather wins every time for me, it’s mad the pricing and what’s available atm
No love lasts forever
Very true
Wow Dom....the camels back has been broken 😭
I can emagine the constant turmoil you must have been going through with fix this fix that and enquiries of the huge fan base you have.

Sold mine a week ago, was just too old and small. I got old haha.
It’s funny how you out grow things isn’t it
What is the front bumper? I need that
It’s a Votex front lip
I know you've said you aren't selling the car as a whole but would you sell it for the right price? I'm looking to possibly get my TT forged but would be much easier buying a complete car so would be interested. Have been watching you for years and have loved the TT content which has helped me in my ownership.
Thanks for the message, but unfortunately it’s going as parts, want to keep the rolling shell for the future and it’s better for me going off in parts for others to enjoy
let us hear when you come back to your sences and bought an TT 8n. Till then have good luck and fortune during the mental breakdown.....
😂😂 thanks
I’m surprised your selling up dom. have you got those bucket seats what was in the glacier tt? Do you have a liquid gauge?
Hey buddy, time for a change, have I made the right decision who knows but we’ll see haha. Those seats got sold to a friend of mine who’s still loving them now, and no liquid gauge I’m afraid. That’s one thing I’ve never had the chance to own
important message for you in your Outlook email box, don't forget to reply
I have a triptronic 180 TT haha you can have.
I’ve always had a saved search for those on eBay. It’s surprising how few come up for sale over the last couple years.
