      They were a good car and the 1.8 was very powerful in its day. They did not break down every 5mins like the usual faltfinders keep saying! I worked on them in the 1970s and they were very popular. Drive one and see for yourself!

    According to this video, most English cars have a continental steering wheel arrangement - on the left side. That's interesting.

    how is it that the steering wheel is on the wrong side??

      Cars sold in Sweden have the steering wheel on the left side.

      Most British cars also had a left steering option for left hand drive markets.

      Apart from some cars in the background or to the sides, which clearly are not the central focus of the pictures, they are all British.

      Ford had design and manufacturing companies in the UK Germany Canada Australia and elsewhere. And each of them involved a % of local investment and equity.

      David Taylor : Ford built in Britain. Ford Cortina, Zephyr, Consul, Zodiac, Corsair,Anglia,Popular, Prefect etc..these were all British brands . As an aside would you say Land Rover is British ?? (Owned by TaTa Motors)
