I had to watch this vlog again because we chatted so much during the premiere. Just want to suggest putting in your hashtags: brocante shopping, French brocantes, renovating in France, Paris tips, how to get around in Paris, etc. Looking forward to our next adventure!!!
This was a wonderful vlog! What could be better than a sunny day in Paris walking around a gigantic antiques market? It was nice that you and Laurant also showed us how to get there and to make sure to walk off the beaten path for some less expensive merchandise. I LOVE watercolor paintings and loved the one you found for Everdeen. Also, I always envy all the gold gilded framed mirrors in Europe. I have one my parents purchased just after WWII in gold with ornate moldings, probably the most prized possession in my house. 🏡
I should love to see and hear a bit of Laurent singing at the Opera. And to learn a bit about it. Also to see some more of your aerial acrobatics. Thanks Kay
What a great post. I know it is kind of a laugh, but I appreciate the info about the restrooms and the atm's, and where to eat . Although it is great to see/hear about the antiques and the other things needed to complete your home, there is nothing worse than trying to appreciate the perfect antique and needing the lady's room. I am sure I would get lost and need a policeman to escort me out. lol. Good job.
Love your bargain hauls, Cara! New paint color is looking good! Always a treat when Laurent joins in. We're looking forward to your next video. So strange watching your videos from France instead of the US. Did I miss it, you didn't mention how to buy a heavy item and get it home? Perhaps the local ones deliver? Since we gave away most of our furniture I'm hoping to find some goodies but worried about transport.
When I saw the home of the future, I immediately thought of a similar structure which I land development company used as its sale office here in Western Australia. When the Residental lots had been sold it was moved to a storage field and deteriorated a bit. Then one of the local, councils decided to refurbish the sales office and put it on a small park at the entrance to the suburb that it used to Service. The structure got a couple of nicknames such as the spaceship or the flying saucer. There it stayed for about 15 or 20 years until about 10 years ago when it was completely removed as it had deteriorated so much and was looking tatty. I wonder where the spaceship is now and whether I shall see it again in my lifetime?
35 Years in Paris and I have found some much better deals at the flea market at the Metro station Porte de Montreuil on the Line 9....(eastern edge of Paris)

Did you ship any large items from the US to FR? We’re wondering about how that works out…
@@dchapman6742 not yet, 32 large plastic bins and a few pieces of furniture is in storage in the US waiting. They won't ship until we have an address.

Maybe it immigrated to France and is spending its retirement in the flea market there!
😂
That's really interesting, was it a similar size? Was it intended to be portable?
@@EscapetoEverdeen portable when on the back of a truck- but probably not in the international or interstellar sense.
I thought it was quite good but would have like to have seen a lot more of what was on offer on the stalls. Thank you for the experience though.
