This past Xmas, I used the bottoms of beer/soda cans in this same way to make small, decoupaged tree ornaments. Used two bottoms, attached with aluminium tape, mod podge, and paper napkins, rice paper then sealed with mod podge. They turned out really nice but be warned, start early bc they are time consuming. I’ll start this summer to prepare them then before Xmas, will decoupage ( the fun part). You inspired me to try this, thank you! 👏👏☺️☺️

I made a few decoupage ornaments last Christmas they are a little unruly to hold on to. 🙂🙂 Thanks for watching.

I forgot I had the dap set. Lol
Need to get my crafty cap on!
Can you punch the hole in the flat piece, before shaping, or does that encourage tearing?

I bought the heavier duty paper punches years ago and have made earrings and charms out of many shapes over the years. The heavier duty paper punches cut clean, which saves me time in my process. Oddly enough, I never thought about using my dap set before this. Lol
I have to say it's a great idea to use if I were making a gift, but not feasible to sell at local craft events for me. I use my time making an item in a formula for cost of a product. And in my area people never want to spend what a product is worth regardless of the skill and workmanship involved. I do think once I retire next year and am able to travel to more profitable events, this would be a great addition to my jewelry. Thanks.

@@DawnBarb Hi Dawn thanks for watching. I did try punching the hole before shaping the piece and it did seem to tear right away so I switched to punching after shaping. 🙂

@@WomanUnfiltered hi thanks for watching. I agree this would be difficult to make for a profitable item to sell as it does take a little while to make the beads but maybe they could work on a pair of earrings 🙂

These are so pretty. Thanks for the information about sealing before adding the alcohol ink and the again after. You saved me some time and frustration ♥️

Hi Mary - thanks for watching. I don't have any scientific evidence but I think the first coat of mod podge also helps the alcohol ink adhere to the metal. 🙂

My goodness! How long does it take you to make one bead? 🤔🤔🤔

It does take awhile and it's hard on your hands so you have to pace yourself 🙂
