Horizon Forbidden West is a great example of how even in the midst if the corporate issues of modern gaming, there are still AAA devs that give a damn about the quality of their work.
I'd like to think all devs go through all their troubles because they do give a damn. But like any company there are also shareholders and stakeholders. Guerilla lucked out because theirs had the same vision as them.
I think it has to do with the sheer impact Horizon as a whole has had on the gaming community. HZD received excellent reviews in general, and HFW has also received pretty much identical reception. Everyone is excited about the DLC too. The release of HZD came at an interesting point, since developers have seriously been amping up their graphics, gameplay etc... HZD could be equated to a test run in a sense. It brought so much to work with for a "breakout game series". Hence the mascot status. Aloy is likely going to be around for a while in some shape or form as a result.
I just beat HZD because my game got corrupted so I forgot about the game until this game came out. I'm currently destroying a land god and and breaking my controller put of rage because I can't beat Fa. Nice.
In HZD Aloy's theme reminds me of sorrow, hope, joy, despair, and loss. And then this FW version reminds me of that kind of situation where you rise from the bottom of the deep pit and go through everything that is on your way despite the odds.
Aloy is really up there with the greats like Kratos, Master Chief, Mario, Sonic, Solid Snake, Cloud and Sephiroth, and Samus when it comes to storytelling and recognition. I love Aloy Horizon really is the best

Exactly, like what if everything was reset tomorrow and we were all thrown back into the Stone Age, yet with our technology taken over!? Imagine Terminator meets the Flintstones, lol. That is what I love about this series is it is not just one thing…you could see it as a warning of how our reliance on tech and the internet could doom us all, or see it as a parallel with the invading colonists with advanced weaponry landing upon Native Lands! Overall, what kind of legacy are we leaving for future generations??

Aloy's theme is the most under rated video game theme of all time. It should be up there with one of the greats video game themes like a zelda theme. Every time I hear that theme it gives me goose bumps. The moment she hymms that melody
I absolutely love this theme, and this title screen. I listen to it fully almost every single time before I play and after I'm done playing before I go to bed. It's easily one of my favorite title screens next to Fall Of Cybertron, Skyrim, and The Witcher 3's base game screen.
Everytime i start the game I let the music kick in for a minute or 2 or 3 nah just kidding 5 minutes 😅. A MASTERPIECE the game itself and the soundtracks and audio. The Gameplay feels like I don't even know how to explain, Its just freeing and allows you to Express yourself and be Yourself and not chained by the games limitations it might not fit everyone but it fits those who it does perfectly.

I love this theme's revamp with the surrounding electronic elements enveloping your senses as the song gets going. It makes me feel like i'm flying through the world, the merging of tribal drums and machines, i fucking love this song.
I love how the menu screen is a sort of spoiler for HFW: The foreground features the Blight, which seems like the immediate problem...until you look at the background and see the blurred structures. Familiar, right?
Horizon is such an amazing and well made and beautiful game EVER! Whole time i felt like i was in game and traveling and story is epic too! I love it 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️
Fun fact (and also spoilers for HFW): The structure in the background is actually the Far Zenith base, and where the final boss is. This is where you ultimately end up defeating and killing Tilda. I’ve also been to this exact place in the map, and it’s so beautiful.
You know it's going to be a fucking banger of the game when the lobby theme alone gets you loving the game. 😂 I love how we fought the horus in burning shores as well. It being main reason for the DLC to be an insta buy.

Not only did they manage that but they did it with mostly the same song. I hope Guerilla knows how to do it again if we get a chance to capture Hephaestus again, or see Elysium, or find out what the heck Sylens really is before fighting Nemesis. Because I at least expect a good theme song again.
I can tell if a game is good based on the title screen. 9 times out of 10, the title screen reflects the quality of the game and Forbidden West is no different. The last of us, god of war, Elden ring, all have incredible title screens and it’s important to absorb what they have to offer
Finished playing the story of this game last year just 2 weeks after its release and managed to get Platinum on it at the start of 2023. Just got a ps5 so I’m doing new game plus on ultra hard. One of the best games I’ve played and the best looking game ever.
Hey guys, does anyone know the name of the track that plays while you're in the stealth section of the mission with Aloy and Kotallo in the rebel holdout? It happens right after you obliterate the Bulwark. I can't for the life of me find that track. It was so good.
I believe that it's the best game since NieR Automata (which I thought was at least last last generation's best game). which it kind of reminds me of. It's kind of melancholy , nowhere near the Yoko Taro level. I wish Automata had a remake with graphics like this.

I mean, the music from The Mandalorian👌 Murray Gold's Doctor Who soundtracks also has some excellent tracks where this blend is utilized, but that's 10+ years of music, so ye know... make sure you have time lol
