Yuluri, Nemuro, Hokkaido, a phantom uninhabited island.

Part 4 of a trip to the east of Hokkaido. Continuing from the previous issue, this report describes a trip to the Ochiishi district of Nemuro, Hokkaido, in March 2023.
We will see the sunset from Sanrihama Beach, which boasts a beautiful coastline, and from Hamamatsu Beach we will view Yururi, a 'phantom uninhabited island' where the descendants of horses that were once brought in as labour for kelp fishing have become wild and continue to live even now that the island is uninhabited.
The existence of Yururi Island in particular was a trigger for learning about the Ochiishi area and a major motivation for visiting Nemuro, so I will never forget the rush of emotion I felt when I saw it up close.
We are currently making videos of our travels in Nemuro and other parts of Eastern Hokkaido. I also usually travel around Kyushu and other places with spectacular scenery.
