  • The 'recreational firewood' woodshed is at a point where we can start reloading it. Split up a few big rounds of Maple to start the restocking process.

      I gave her a choice and offered to help, but she wanted to load the log lift on her own. I once heard it wasn't wise to argue with a woman....LOL

    Amanada is an excellent addition to this channel. Pushing those big rounds up. Great job. She's in incredible shape. She must go to the gym regularly and actually work out. Not an ounce of fat on her.

    @woodruffwoods ปีที่แล้ว +2

    That splitter is great, the conveyor is wonderful, but Ms. Amanda putting those big rounds on the lift was impressive. Now I know why you just moved levers! 😂

      Hahahahaha....yeah I'm always left doing all the hard work! I gave her a choice what she wanted to do, and offered to help but she wanted to put those rounds on by herself...lol...and you know it's never wise to argue with a woman!

  • @ironmayhew

    You should start making kindling bundles out of that stuff you call slash. Extra money to be made there for sure. I love watching and eastonmade box wedge looks so easy and perfect wood every time.

      It really is amazing the difference it makes. I'm hoping to get a few more shelters up here at some point.

    I like the way you stack in the woodshed, back to front. As you use you can refill with new splits.

    • @Back40Firewood
      @Back40Firewood  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks...makes it easy to refill as you don't need to wait for entire shed to empty.

  • @thomasgreene5750
    @thomasgreene5750 ปีที่แล้ว

    You might think about bagging up some of the slash in 1/3-cord firewood bags and shovel some of it into your wood-fired furnace with each load of firewood.

  • @TANGO22222222
    @TANGO22222222 ปีที่แล้ว

    That is a hell of a lot of slash

    • @Back40Firewood
      @Back40Firewood  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it does make a bit of it....but the size round and how the grain is of the wood makes a big difference in the amount you get.

  • @marclauzon1882
    @marclauzon1882 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great to watch those huge rounds go through. Lot easier than wrestling have’s around.

    I will never have a box wedge. A four way at the most. I like a single the best.

  • @jrmorrissey207
    @jrmorrissey207 ปีที่แล้ว

    The "slash" wood is great kindling. Chuck the bark, but the rest of it should go into a tote to be dealt with later for something. That's nice stuff.

  • @jimhoge3252
    @jimhoge3252 ปีที่แล้ว

    That’s a lot of slash. I’m guessing some customers would want that as kindling

      Yep, by burning this slash up I'm not using other wood from the inventory. 😀

    Come down to Mississippi and you can have all the corn and rat snakes from my yard - for free. LOL Stay safe. Good thing you have something to do with all the slag from the box wedge.

  • @smorefirewood
    @smorefirewood ปีที่แล้ว

    For what it’s worth. Any full or near full length “slash” makes great kindling. Bundle or bag that stuff up and sell it. All the short stuff burns for free in your fire pit.

    • @Back40Firewood
      @Back40Firewood  ปีที่แล้ว

      Few of my customers actually know what kindling is...lol...guess that's the difference between fire pit and wood stove burners...ha

  • @gringopines3476
    @gringopines3476 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    HAY ( D ) & FAMILY. NICE WAY TO ROTATE THE PRODUCT. I'M NOT SURE, BUT... I THINK GUNS & ROSES COULD USE MORE SLASH. DOES LIL BOSS MAN HAVE A SECURE PLACE FOR HIS NEW EXOTIC FRIENDS??? YA KNOW, THE WOOD YARD LOOKS EXTREMELY PRODUCTIVE WITH ALL THE COOL NEW TOYS YOU GOT... OUTSTANDING TRANSFORMATION, BROTHER... STAY COOL... PEACE...

    • @Back40Firewood
      @Back40Firewood  ปีที่แล้ว

      I always think of the old video games that were in the category of 'hack-n-slash'...lol. Ohh yes the snake is secured and on lockdown once in it's cage/aquarium.

  • @mikeh8228
    @mikeh8228 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was wondering why little boss man does not help Amanda when trying to roll those big rounds onto the lift. She could use some help. Even you could help her by using a pickaroon to assist from the other side of the splitter!

    • @Back40Firewood
      @Back40Firewood  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We offered to help but she wanted to do it all on her own...lol

  • @OneEyeCustoms
    @OneEyeCustoms ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you or can you start a tote with just “slash” in it? Save it for personal use. The tote makes it nice to store that stuff in.

    • @Back40Firewood
      @Back40Firewood  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a couple totes I made with wire around the edges but they are still full from all the slash from last year...without a box wedge....if that gives ya any indication as to how fast I go through it....hahahaha...now I'm making it a point to burn on Friday Nights so should get rid of it quicker.

  • @Dorchwoods
    @Dorchwoods ปีที่แล้ว

    I bet you could get away with not adding extra pieces in after you get it in the bag. I'm sure it's a great bonus for your customers to have an extra 2 pieces, but I stopped doing it and never had a single complaint. It's still a significantly larger bag of wood than what they get at a gas station. I am charging $5 and the gas station charges $7 to $8. Just throwing it out there, it sped up my bag making process a ton by not adding pieces in after. A little SAG ain't too BAD! lol!
    Although, I'm using the EZ bagger which is a little bit bigger of a barrel, so that comes into play as well.

    • @Back40Firewood
      @Back40Firewood  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm cutting back on how much I put in after the bag is loaded...used to really stuff them in but now just usually add 1 or 2 pieces depending on how much open space was in the can before bagging it.
