You're doing an amazing job and adapting to this lifestyle. There's no better lifestyle. My grandparents lived like this and were very happy. Watching your videos is bringing back memories.... It's people like you we love having in Portugal!! Stay strong and it will get easier. If you can ask the locals, they always have tricks on how to get rid of pests

I recently watched a vid on The Dodo about a woman who brought up a goose and taught the goose to eat (only) the weeds and I think they eat the critters too. She was a gardener with her business. They had a wonderful relationship.!

It’s good to have flexible goals. The cabbage butterflies decimated my green veg but we had a hard frost last week which killed all the caterpillars, nature to the rescue😉 happy holidays and wishing you peace and fulfilment for the next year💚

Those catterpillars are some really nasty buggers and they spread so fast! We don't really get those frosts here so we have to keep an eye on it at all times… We also wish you a good start to the new year!

If the peanuts are moldy then you had them underground too long and I believe they should be harvest before the rain season starts which is around the end of September/November.

Have you tried letting your chickens loose around your vegetable garden to eat the slugs and bugs?

Chickens are highly destructive so we haven’t done that, no. If we had ducks, we’d try that in the future :)
