Harry was actually traumatized by the abuse. 90% of his problems were made worse because he felt he couldn't trust adults and ended up concealing the truth even when Dumbledore gave him opportunities to be up front and talk. He would have had way more support from others had he not been held back by the abuse and lack of trust to talk to an adult.
This is a nice alternate reality. Harry’s life would have been so much better if the Dursley’s hade been even a little bit kind to him. I really want to know who the other two characters on the platform are supposed to be 🤷🏼♀️
I think it would be possible, that Harry came to Slytherin in this szenario. I'm sad, that your story is nearly identical as the usual one. I Think if the Dursleys really supported Harry, there were more differences as you did in your story.

Only one problem here: as soon as Harry wrote to Petunia about Snape, she would immediately know who he was since he was Lilly's friend!
Nice as this was... why did the narrator pronounce the last name as the "duz-lees" instead of "durs-lees" after a while?
He's saying Dudleys instead of Dursleys, so Harry's cousin is Dudley Dudley!
