Here you find the J.K. Rowling webcast. I do not own this, I use this only for personal use! forum.wizardwear.nl/ Somewhere around 43:30 there is a part missing because the player crashed.
I have a lot of thank J.K. Rowling for. Before reading Harry Potter, I wasn't the best at reading or writing. I hated reading, I would watch the movie's and that was it. Then a few of my friends and family managed to talk me into buying the first book and I couldn't put it down, this was when Goblet of Fire had just come out and I read them all in a week, I was so proud of myself, and now thanks to this series of book's I'd prefer to pick up a book instead of watching the movie, or programme.
My first book, was called "The Mouse" it was about a purple mouse, named Pinky Pie, and her owner Eliza. Write now I'm writing a book series, called the Lemonland Chronicles. I'm only halfway through the the first book. I just turned 13 and I really want to be an author someday!
Wow, so great to watch any interview with J.K Rowling, I highly recommend "J.K Rowling: A Year In The Life" for any fan who hasn't seen it, it has some great and touching moments! I also actually loved the interviewer, he had such a sweet and childish expression half the time, it's so lovely to see adults show their inner child! God bless you Jo, Our Queen :)
My favorite question 42:53 43:10 "This may surprise people, but it is the truth...In many, many ways, Hufflepuff is my favourite House. Here's my reasoning, bear with me. (Again, I don't want to **spoil things too much for people who haven't read the whole series, so I'm going to say what I'm about to say quite carefully). There comes a point in the final book where each House has the choice whether or not to rise to a certain challenge, and that's everyone in the House. The Slytherins, for reasons that are understandable, decide they'd rather not play. The Ravenclaws, some decide they will, some decide they won't. The Hufflepuffs, virtually to a person, stay, as do the Gryffindors. Now, ** the Gryffindors comprise a lot of foolhardy and show-offy people, that's just the way it is, I'm a Gryffindor, I'm allowed to say it. You know, there's bravery, and there's also showboating, and sometimes the two go together. The Hufflepuffs stayed for a different reason; they weren't trying to show off, they weren't being reckless, that's the essence of Hufflepuff House. Now my oldest child (my daughter, Jessica) said something very profound to me, not very many days ago, actually, she said to me - and she, by the way, was not sorted into Hufflepuff House- but, she said to me, 'I think we should all want to be Hufflepuffs.' I can only say to you, that I would not be at all disappointed to be sorted into Hufflepuff House." - J.K. Rowling #HufflepuffAndProud #HufflepuffPride
Amazing how listening to Rowling feels like being around one's mother. She has this ability to hug your heart. Fantastic interviewer & he got the best out of her. :-)
This interview made my day!! Just loved it. All the questions were awesome. Every potterhead would have wanted to know their answers. The interviewer was very nice and Jk Rowing was ❤.
That would've have been fantastic. Jim Dale's is ok but sometimes I feel like he doesn't understand the meaning behind a character's statement. But there's no way she would've had time to do that.
@@chevon1920 Have you listened to Stephen Fry's version? His are excellent and he does a great job with the different voices. I feel Dale's voices are a bit too similar in contrast.
Stephen Fry is great in the audio books, but listening to J.K Reading it, seeing her face is so wonderful and interesting. I feel like I could listen through the whole series read out by her, without ever pausing.
I dunno if it’s just me but it’s not the characters really, it’s the fact the world feels fleshed out and the concept of it existing as a kid was exciting. That’s what seemed to draw me and others in. Also it’s crazy to me that for every “I always wanted to write” JK there’s a 1000 others completely unknown and never published. Idk if that’s sad or what
All I want to say is I hope that kids in future generations won't have to analyse Potter in English classes, because that just ruins books and crushes kid's imaginations
My heart jolted at the answer to the first question from kids. She started her sentence “I had a few writers...” i knows probably just a speech accident.... but still...
For those that have a kindle fire 8 or 10, if you want it can read to your child the book with different voices. (not audible, but text to speech) and it sounds like real person reading it to them.
Around that time she got the idea for the christmas pig. And she already had writen the cucoos calling and Strike abd Robin wher already alife to her for many years
What I love about Ron is that a lot of coming of age stories have characters overcoming insecurities - figuratively. Ron literally kills his insecurities in the form of the locket.
I mean its the same story thats been told over and over again thruought human history. The thing is.... She got the archetypes right... The hero, the sidekick, the villian, the arch nemesis, the old wise man, the martyr, etc. All she did was put it in a magical background. I'm not trying to take away from her genius, but all she did was rewrite an age old story, thats what all great authors do.
“If you weren’t an author what would you be?” “Depressed” - JK Rowling 2013
I could listen her reading the rest of my life and never regret a moment
How she does Hagrid’s accent is great. She’s great.

I want the old pottermore back😢
I love Jo's impression of Harry and Hagrid. :)

Why doesn't she read the audiobooks? I really would buy them !
Totally agree, she would be perfect!
That would've have been fantastic. Jim Dale's is ok but sometimes I feel like he doesn't understand the meaning behind a character's statement. But there's no way she would've had time to do that.

i really like the guy who is interviewing her. seems very engaged and charismatic :) jobb well done, barry!
Thank you so much for uploading this! Much easier to watch here than at the website.
Thank you for uploading this. It was great to hear the first book read by miss Rowling herself.
Thank you so much for uploading it! You don't know how much this means to me. Thank you. Just - thank you.
Excellent job! I missed most of the webchat at the time and I am so glad to see it now! Thank you very much!
This was a lovely interview. Great questions from the kids and the interviewer.
Thank you for posting this!! I loved every moment :D esp her reading the passage!
So glad she talked about Ron, I hope the haters can now bugger off! & I can't believe I met her and thanked her personally. She's such an inspiration!
I feel like crying when hagrid and harry have that talk after shopping for wands..! I love hagrid
Such a humble and genuine person
Thanks for posting this- I missed it earlier, so it's great to have another chance to see this :) .
Her voice for Hagrid = Perfection.
What happened to Pottermore? It's merely a shadow of its former self in a dark room. You can't even visit the great hall. wtf. Why did they change it?
Ollivanders is my favourite part too.
I love this interview so much. As always with anything Rowling, I'll probably end up watching it about 20 times.
I love how Jo and I have so much incommon
I have only just come across this, how have i missed it for 7 years?? thank you x
Such a great interview.
This is a great interview and great interviewer.
It's even more magical when J.K. is reading it herself. I couldn't stop listening. Thanks for uploading the webcast.
Oh Remus... I cried when I was reading his biography :'(
Joanne has given us so great a gift that it will live in our hearts forever.
I would pay anything to have the audiobooks read by her
I got Slytherin on Pottermore :) And I'm kinda happy about it
Joanne has given this world so great a gift that it will live in our hearts forever.
That just made my day............
Elvie Rose Robinson SAME

Stephen Fry is great in the audio books, but listening to J.K Reading it, seeing her face is so wonderful and interesting. I feel like I could listen through the whole series read out by her, without ever pausing.
It's still in our hearts

2020?
OK, now we know we've all said Rubeus wrong for the past decades ;-)
This might actually be the best thing I have ever watched.
I dunno if it’s just me but it’s not the characters really, it’s the fact the world feels fleshed out and the concept of it existing as a kid was exciting. Her accent for Hagrid
It is NOT Edinburrow. Listen to JK - she says it properly.
GOD I NEED MOONY'S BIOGRAPHY, LIKE, NOW :O He's my most beloved character in the books! Wonder when we'll get to find out more about him...
I love the way she reads her books :)
Great interview.
I was sorted into Slytherin when I joined. But it's ok. I look good in green, lol.
I love this interview! I think I love it so much because you can tell the interviewer is such a fanboy. His face gives away his secret.
All I want to say is I hope that kids in future generations won't have to analyse Potter in English classes, because that just ruins books and crushes kid's imaginations
Actually we had a JK Rowling text in the big english exam in France this year but sadly it wasn't about Harry Potter.. ;)
What text was it?
I could listen to her reading forever.
0.0 when she does Harry's voice she sounds almost like Dan... 0.0
I was upset that Peeves wasn't included in the films
My heart jolted at the answer to the first question from kids. She started her sentence “I had a few writers...” i knows probably just a speech accident.... but still...
Oh my gosh I keep crying watching this. Three times, and I'm only 11 minutes into the video.
YES YES YES ME TOOO!
Oh my god. Remus and Sirius are my favorite characters - I NEED to read that biography
I hope she publishes it - and soon!
it just makes me really happy how the interviewer guy knows what he's talking about
I just remember the complete that hideous pollyjuice potion was incredibly hard... I spend a grate time on that website ❤️
I think he sounds very nice and they have a lot of fun together.
Haha 'Edin-boro', the Yanks often have trouble pronouncing our capital. For future reference it's pronounced 'Edin-bur-a'.
On Pottermore, but if you google 'remus lupin biography pottermore' or something similar, I'm pretty sure you can find it on other websites as well.
She wrote the wand shop scene while sat under a tree 😂 that's brilliant!
I wonder if the tree was a bit twitchy xD
Jo should have played Hagrid, she knows the character inside out and her accent is the absolute best! ;)
Well harry is my favourite character I just love him and Daniel Radcliffe played him perfectly
This interviewer is great
the start of this make me happy to live in scottland and the fact i live sorrta neer where they filmed harry potter :)
She is amazing
I love when she does the voices :)
Thank you!
i miss how pottermore use to be... i never got to use the interactive content as much as i wanted
hope we get it back eventually
We want a new audio book version - read by Joanne!
Who else grabbed for their copy of Philosopher's Stone?
how can people dislike this?
🥺those were my friends in elementary school at 6:49
There's nothing better than hearing an author read their own writing- because you can hear how it is meant to sound.
I agree!
No, he's like a fan :)
I could listen to her read the entire series
For those that have a kindle fire 8 or 10, if you want it can read to your child the book with different voices. (not audible, but text to speech) and it sounds like real person reading it to them.
goood i miss the old pottermore so much :'(
Love this. Thanks :)
Around that time she got the idea for the christmas pig. And she already had writen the cucoos calling and Strike abd Robin wher already alife to her for many years
She's a great reader.
i cried at the end. no joke like gross sobbing....
This is indeed a sirius revelation. Potterheads have been scarred for life.
I love j.k with hagrid's voice
It can be found on Pottermore right now.
What I love about Ron is that a lot of coming of age stories have characters overcoming insecurities - figuratively. Ron literally kills his insecurities in the form of the locket.
I AM a Hufflepuff.. I LOVE the LOVE within the house.. 😍
thank you so very much ;)
It is the charectors and there relationships. They were all written great. You wanted friends like Fred, George and Ron.
I mean its the same story thats been told over and over again thruought human history. The thing is.... She got the archetypes right... She should really record an audio-book
Omg the geography lesson in the opening about where the UK is 😂
does he, I didn't notice...?
That's such a great question
I am loving JK Rowling. And I have just started listening to her but I adore her already.
