As a marketing major, how did Domino's brand and advertising department entice people from a country where Pizza originated from to their stores? At least Taco Bell could have changed their ads to Tex-Mex fusion food rather than advertise their stuff as Mexican food and that could have worked, but Domino's really thought they were all that with extra sauce and they ended up losing money instead. So stupid.
Corporate America thinks they can top authentic Italian cuisine LoL I'm Italian American and would never eat Domino's 🤢

You really typed 🤢 like its some kind of rotten product.

Fun fact: Hawaiian pizza is actually from Canada so it's Canadian pizza, it's just the creator thought this is what a Hawaiian pizza would look like
another fun fact: Italians despise pineapple pizza.
try going to Italy and try to order it and see what happens.
@@SkylineGuy Yeah and come to my home of New York and order Chicago style. You didn't hear this from me but it isn't going to end well for you if you do
as i know pineapples dont grow in canada 😂
@@Techie1224 Yes , Don't you know that grocery stores or supermarkets exist or nah?
Canadians thought Hawaiians put that in there pizza, just one ingredient coming from another place doesn't mean it belongs to that place
@@SkylineGuy That's why I have several Italian friends, we have a mutual dislike of pineapple on pizza.
I read the title of the video and *BURSTED INTO LAUGHTER*
"Mom, can we get Domino's on the way home?"
"No, we have pizza at home."
"Yay!"
Domino tried opening a chain in a country where the people come after you for not using specific ingredients from specific regions for specific recipes? How else did they thing this was going to go?
You can't understand how painful it is when ppl call some sh** they cooked with the wrong ingredients: [insert authentic typical Italian dish]
If you think it's the right thing to do, keep eating mac and cheese with velveta and bacon and maybe call it a carbonara.
@Emanuele Polisena it’s popular in Britain and Australia also American pizza isn’t bad but dominos is bad now

as an italian i tell yall why this didnt work, because simply italian local pizzerias do free delivery too

This puts a smile on my face. And I’m not even Italian
Its like Olive Garden opening up in Italy and calling it Italian cuisine. Took my grandmother there when she visited and I thought she was about to curse out the entire staff with how she disgusted she was with the food
As an American I'm laughing extra hard at this! 🤣
My local Domino's always refuses my payment due to the bank I use which only does me a favor.. there's better quality pies out there people!
Who in their right mind had the idea to sell Domino’s fast food pizza in Italy??? 🙈 Italian pizza is the real pizza! 🇮🇹🍕
it wasn't the fact that Domioes opened, it was the fact that there menu just didn't change or agree with local tastes, mcdonalds realised this and offers a number of different options around the world , italians like crisp thin crusts stone cooked, but domino's just kept the same western menu, further to this local pizzerias were often cheaper and better quality than what was being delivered, maybe we see Domino's again, but they have to know there market than assume it will work,
I am also thinking the same thing.
You would have to change everything. The crust, everything
Italians don't like crisp thin crusts? That's Roman pizza, Neapolitan pizza has a thick but fluffy and airy crust and a thin center. It's everything but crisp
Dominos have a different pizza menu in India for sure. Lots of veg offerings, no beefs, etc. I am sure they would have done in Italy too.
When I was stationed in Italy, there were service members who wanted stuff like Dominos & Pizza Hut. They couldn’t grasp that they were in the Mecca of Pizzerias and thought watered down fake versions of authentic Italian cuisine was better tasting. BTW: Olive Garden isn’t authentic Italian cuisine either, but to each his own taste buds. 😆
I wonder how the Italian olive garden is doing lol 😂 the Chewbacca defense "it does not make sense!"
Chewbacca defense?😂
the AUDACITYYY. Imagine the conference room full of domino’s executives really thinking they were onto something with that idea💀💀
Has to be one of the worst business ideas I've ever heard , domino's in Italy 🤣
1:14 that's not how the Italians would say "Arrivederci" 💀
That's like serving up egg noodles with ketchup, and calling it spaghetti.
Why would someone in Italy even consider buying a pizza from Domino’s. i tasted the Real Deal Pizzas in Italy, The quality is just worlds apart.
I’m an American and the best pizza I’ve ever had was in a little restaurant in Rome, Italy. Delicious!
or as the italians would say "A mai più rivederci"
I’m surprised Domino’s even opened in Italy in the first place. Domino’s Pizza in Italy is like if Panda Express went to China and opened up a whole bunch of take out joints. It wouldn’t last 5 minutes before it would get run out of town. The fact that Domino’s lasted this long in Italy is a miracle in itself 😂🤣
Italians don’t consider that pizza
This remembers me of taco bell. "Taco" bell doesn't even sell tacos, they're more like quesadillas or tostadas. 😂
Who is the genius who thought Domino even had a chance in Italy ?
LOL that's like opening a Papa Johns in New Jersey.
"Hawaiian Pizza"...lol! I'm born and raised in Hawaii and putting pineapple on pizza doesn't make it Hawaiian, that's just dumb! Can't compete with the Italians on pizza, especially if it's Dominos!
True, I think Hawaiian was invented in Canada so the name doesn’t even make sense lol
That domino’s pizza in Italy, looks better than any pizza I tried in my entire life 🤧
That pizza at 0:05 looks actually better than Dominos! ☺️
Boy that "arrivederci" was butchered SO hard.
Domino's was never going to work out in Italy. That is not true Italian pizza. You need to explore Italy to find authentic Italian pizza.
Italian Pizza sucks.
@@flickshotgirl tbh yeah
Face facts. Italian immigrants came to the US, discovered what it had to offer in terms of ingredients and went to town making Italian food ten thousand times better than what you get in Italy. Authentic Italian pizza is fast leaving the Italian market as more and more of their pizza restaurants serve American style pizza instead of the mess that is authentic.

I don't think Italians need to make their pizza out of chemicals either since their food is already food
Right, because processed food certainly doesn’t exist in Italy…

Domino is absolutely terrible compared to our pizzerias (I am Italian)
I ain’t surprised bro classic Italian pizza is so much better and more authentic
I still remember the first time I tried "Chinese food" in the States. It was back in September 2002 in Columbus, OH. After the meal, they brought some small crackers which later I knew as "fortune cookies." I didn't know there was a piece of paper in it so I just put it in my mouth and chewed it. It was a mess. Who would have imagined that someone would put paper inside food?! That is gross? We in China never do that. No one knows what fortune cookie is. Don't make up stuff that has nothing to do with us and make a fake statement saying that it is our food. I am still upset although 20 years have passed.
wth?

The pepperoni has never not been burnt. It tastes like charcoal.
If Domino’s wanted to open up a bunch of stores there, then they should’ve let the Italians operate the stores and let them have full control over what to put on their menu 🤷🏻♂️
Even Italian agreed that Pineapples don't belong to Pizzas
I've tried fresh authentic italian pizzas before, and it's definitely better than domino's or pizzahut or any fast food pizza chains out there. I could eat like 5 slices of real Italian pizzas but couldn't even get to the 3rd slice of a fast food pizza.
you must eat all 6 🤷♂️
It needs quite some nerve to think Domino could ever conquer the country of the inventors of pizza!😳🤪
The looks that were given when folks seen their people walking into Domino's 😄
I guess they don't want a box in their pizza either, can't blame them
Lol, The moment I visited Italy for the first time, and tasted Napoli dough. I looked for places in my country that do similar napoli dough. I surprised Dominos thought, it had a chance in Italy.
Opening dominos in italy is like selling ac in antartica
Imagine thinking you have a chance at beating Italians at making Italian food. That’s like opening Taco Bell’s in Mexico and expecting it to be super famous there. Or opening an Indian food spot in India. Like bruh.
i am Italian. to confirm this, i ordered a pizza from domino to my cousin as a joke and put there all kind of ingredients together. then i took a picture of that pizza and it has became viral on facebook.
I cant believe they thought it was a good idea to go there.
As an Italian, finally a good news.
When I told my mother this news she replied:
We had Dominos in Italy?
Meh I am not suprised they failed
If they actually thought they could rival Italian pizzerias by offering delivery, they need some changes in research department. About 95% of pizzerias offer free delivery.
in my experience the delivery is very cheap, but not free
