Yes! Police policy about their police weapons while drunk and dwi she should have had many charges and the male officer should have been charged for having his duty weapon while drunk plus their badges. Then fired.
Yes she got special treatment and never had to do anything..got by with it all...now she will do it again and again till she kills someone....they are not gonna tell us the whole story...
“I’m not going to charge you for the gun, I’m not going to do that to you, I have too much respect for you” WTF! They’re drunk cops with their firearms on them! Hey, if we have to follow the laws, so do they!
You are not allowed to carry a firearm when you are drinking. It is a felony. He should have charged both of them for that and her with the OVI also. Again cops are treated differently than the rest of us.
Melissa Mccarty the night wasn’t over, they both may have been charged or may be charged at a later date which would effectively end their law enforcement careers. I guarantee that this will be pleaded down or the firearms won’t come into play, she’ll get the OVI and hopefully she wasn’t more than twice the limit which would make her “super drunk”. In this day and age of Uber and Lyft, it was hubris that let them think nothing would happen and it’s so easy to avoid.
I don't know the laws there but here mere possession a weapon while intoxicated is not a crime. Here, it's a crime if: 1. Intoxicated, 2. In the persons hand and loaded, 3. The person is not engaged in legitimate self defense. So even if you are drunk and someone attacks you or someone else , you could defend yourself or defend the victim of the attack. It would be unlawful to be hunting or target shooting while drunk.
Imagine everything dirty cops got away with before cameras. I bet it stops people from becoming cops because they can’t break the law indiscriminately!
The fact that they are upset that they are being held accountable for their own actions goes to show the culture that is cultivated by too many police departments. Police officers must be held to a higher standard than the general public, not a lower one.
That cop that stopped them should be fired if he would have stopped you or me with a gun and driving while drunk we would have been verbally and physically assaulted. This video shows cops protect cops not normal people like you and me.
Also, if it weren't a cop they would have been treated much worse. The cop frankly had no good reason to pull them over. Crossing a line like that, in an intersection like that, with nobody else on the road late at night would be a reason to follow someone to see if they're having trouble controlling their vehicle. He followed them and they drove perfectly from what I could see. Shitty cops all around. All of them.
"This is my worst nightmare." Funny, I thought your worst nightmare would be telling a parent that their 16-year-old child was hit and killed by a drunk driver. But no, arresting a shitfaced cop, giving her a break on the gun and treating her like YOU did something wrong ... THAT'S your worst nightmare. Classy.
You took the officer's de-escalation technique as if he was making a statement to the general public. I applaud the officer for keeping the streets safer so these specific criminals aren't the ones killing our kids... Perspective, and context - Don't hate.
Oh please, ur an idiot for making that comment. As if thats nit anyone worst fn nightmare u pos. To even assume thats what this respectful officer meant is so despicable I dont have words to describe u atm. Your a disgrace to humanity and to anyone who has lost their 16 yo child ir any child for that matter, that you just brought onto their knees in tears. This is a fn hero for the way he treated his fellow officers. I wish every single officer was like him. The fact is, whether u want to te believe it or not, the police are humans. As himans, they are allowed to use what is called officer discretion. He used excellent judgment and discretion. Now if it was anyone else, with a loaded weapon, they probably wouldn't have gotten a pass. N not for the same reason, why? Well because she said I have a weapon, almost immediately. She didn't wait until he said im putting the cuffs on you. Or try to hide it and claim she didn't knkw it was there. Full accountability and responsibility goes a long way with police. If the guy was driving, he'd of gotten both from this guy, no doubt. He didnt slam him solely because he was looking out for her. Didn't want to ruin her night even more by locking up the husband on felony charges. Add to that, if ur not a scumbag, they generally will easily get reduced to a misdemeanor even a summary charge many times.
They actually wonder why they are constantly being suspected in every situation. Cops take note: This bullshit nepotism is a citizen's "worst nightmare". This won't fly in Grady Judd's jurisdiction. There's at least one fair cop out there.
I went out with this guy once. On our first date he got a DUI (red flag much?) and left me sitting on the side of the road with the car. The cops didn’t tow it.
My best friend got a DUI in front of his house one day. The arresting officer was his fucking roommates cousin. He decided to not be a total dick and let his roommate pull the car into their driveway.

The fact that this cop is so apologetic to this woman is disgusting. I can’t imagine he’d ever tell a civilian “this is my worst nightmare” when arresting them for DUI with a loaded firearm.
If not for cameras her and most other cops u see getting arrested for crimes like this would have gone home with a free ride from the local brother in blue . Thank God for technology. They still are getting away with alot of illegal stuff but soon technically will catch everything they do.
Expect the FOP to loudly protest any disciplinary action. Because obviously patrol officers should accept the OVI excuse "I just live down the street" and "I'm a police officer if that makes any difference". This is EXACTLY what gives police a bad name. When police fck up they should own it and not think they are above the law, that they think applies only to little people without badges.
I don't know what's worse, a cop who doesn't want to get arrested for breaking the law? Or the cop who doesn't want to charge her the felony crime because he has "too much respect for her.” Double standard. If it was one of us he would have creamed his pants to have been able to make a felony arrest 👎😡

You gotta give him credit. Sounds like the officer was shaming him. You gotta understand, they put their lives on the line together. This is why I favor multiple police agencies, to avoid the brotherhood that naturally forms in this type of organization.
This pisses me off! Charge them both for felony being drunk with firearms, and tow their vehicle!!!....Along with her drunk driving charge. There is not two sets of laws for two sets of citizens!!!
Agree the officer should have been fired he was ridiculous. I am not going to charge you with having a loaded firearm while drunk and driving, he has respect for them what a bunch of crap. He did not take the gun from the passenger. Protocol is to make sure there are no weapons on the occupants of the car no matter who they are investigating. The officer without body cam would have let her after being found drunk to drive home. He is not qualified to be the dog catcher.
Yea I was thinking the same thing. You know if it were some ordinary citizen they’d be thinking up every charge and inconvenience to hit them with. Here this guys a fellow cop yet he was still a complete Dbag and still they helped him out just cause they’re all police. Pretty lame. And like the arresting officer insinuated if there weren’t cameras he’d of probably just let them go completely scot free.
that depends. If you live in a police state like the USA, then it doesn't go that way. There IS special treatment for cops, they "serve and protect"... themselves basically. Citizens can just watch and take it

The Constitution has no laws against carrying any type of arms, drunk or not. As a matter of fact, it says that the right to bear arms "shall not be infringed", and there was no "except" after the end of that statement. That is the law of the land, and it must be respected. I love how the arresting cops in all these videos always say, "nothing I can do, everything is recorded" the implication being, if it wasn't being recorded, the law wouldn't apply to a fellow cop. I see now why almost all police departments resisted cameras for as long as they could
It doesn't just apply to cops though. Before these cameras, police routinely had a bit of leeway, and could decide to give you a break if he/she felt like it. Now, you are effed if you are pulled over for anything remotely serious. They have no choice anymore.

Exaggerate much? Wrong. He had plenty of other opportunities to let her go. Could have ignored the odor of alcohol to begin with or just simply said she passed the eye test. He used the cameras as a diversionary excuse to keep the situation from escalating and having the offenders put the blame on him when he is already dealing with a drunk, angry husband with a gun.
Fucking facts! And the fact that she had the gun on her while Intoxicated and the cop repeatedly says I'm not charging you but if it would've been any normal civilian felony all the way. Completely disappointed 😞 😕
Actually no, cops always take their time about arrests. For three reasons: to fill in the time; to make sure that they understand the situation correctly and are making no mistakes and waiting for info like outstanding warrants to come back from the dispatcher; and to see if the perp commits any further crimes in their presence (like trying to hide contraband.)
So she escapes the felony weapons charge, she’s handcuffed in front, the cop is apologetic for stopping them, and he didn’t tow the car or take the angry man,s gun. This is cop privilege!

Im sorry about your friend. I had a friend die because of an intoxicated individual. It was a single vehicle, motorcycle, crash but my friend didn't know the man. It was a mistake on my friends part, being under the influence as well. Ever since that day, I have anxiety seeing anyone on a motorcycle without a helmet, and anyone who, by their driving pattern, are clearly intoxicated. I would happily volunteer and refrain from drinking if I knew it meant my family or friends get home safely. I'd even have enough guts to take away a strangers keys. I never want to regret not taking a stand and finding out I could have prevented an accident.
The fact that they keep repeating "everything is recorded" to me seems to imply that if it was not recorded, this incident would have turned out VERY differently (i.e. preferential treatment)
Could be. On the other hand it's an easy yet very effective argument to make it clear that there is no chance he can let them go so he probably uses it to prevent discussion and drama.

That’s their JOB has nothing to do with double standards where the law is concerned. They SHOULD she SHOULD have gotten the felony charge for gun as well. It is bullshit she did not.
They should have been charged for the firearms as a felony as well. If any individual who wasnt a cop acted as that man did they would have been shot. If any individuals who were cops were found to habe firearms on them while drunk they would have been charged with felonies. They think they are above the law and this is a prime example of how they treat each other like they are above the law.
They were driving safely. It used to be if you were too drunk, you got a ride ,walked home or put In a drunk tank with no charges. The car would stay by the road for 3 days to pick it up. The law states there has to be a victim to go to court. There was no victim. There should have been no charges.

I used to have our local high school kids ask specifically for me whenever they got in trouble because unfortunately a few guys I worked with were arrogant and badge heavy towards them. They always asked if I was on duty for me to come detain them and talk with them. I didn’t show favoritism to them but I still respected them as long as they respected me. Truthfully on the most part my job was a lot easier when you’re not in shouting matches or over aggressive to escalate the situation worse or into something which causes me or the person I’m dealing with some sort of harm or even a court issue or civil suit because of it.

Cops are so corrupt. “regardless I’m not gonna charge you for the gun, I have too much respect for you” since when is it legal to carry a weapon when you’re intoxicated? And that’s with the camera on? He should be respecting the people he signed up to serve and protect instead of her just because she’s a cop. I really don’t get this. I have known people who are given cards by cops who are boyfriends or realitives and they basically tell you they can get away with things because of that card. Seems like corruption is common. As a psychotherapist do you group and judge your customers/patients like you do cops because you said “cops are so corrupt”…that’s pretty broad and includes them all in that blanket statement. As a therapist are any of your patients ever cops? Do you ever say something to your patients about them or their emotions or behavior or there reasoning that you don’t believe? The fact this cop did many things his drunk colleagues didn’t like, want or agree with. They did not leave without being identified and processed. Now what happens to them afterwards is up to courts and this cops superiors. I would think as a psychotherapist you wouldn’t group people together with such a judgmental comment

I guarantee that this will be pleaded down or the firearms won’t come into play, she’ll get the OVI and hopefully she wasn’t more than twice the limit which would make her “super drunk”. her husband should have been arrested and charged with carrying a firearm while intoxicated
the rest of us would've been charged

I don't know the laws there but here mere possession a weapon while intoxicated is not a crime. Here, it's a crime if:
1. Intoxicated,
2. In the persons hand and loaded,
3. The person is not engaged in legitimate self defense.
So even if you are drunk and someone attacks you or someone else , you could defend yourself or defend the victim of the attack. It would be unlawful to be hunting or target shooting while drunk.
And for wearing a skirt.

Also, if it weren't a cop they would have been treated much worse. The cop frankly had no good reason to pull them over. older law enforcement officers are super egotistical and believe that they can do whatever they like, they had the job before cameras. The fact that the cameras don't deter most of them from violating rights is what should really freak you out.
Me too.
No he wouldn't have, he would have let them go on by themselves and pretend no one saw anyone.
I agree, no one is above the law, and I mean NO one.
Should be automatic firing when any argument for special treatment or threats or even pleading is made by a public employee in these situations. Husband should be fired or punished for this because he shows no respect for the law.
Am I the only one feeling that this officer would have let the “colleagues” go if he knew all this wasn’t recorded by the police car dash cam.
Yup
I feel like it was more of an excuse because it would have caused more of an issue with the suspect if didn't say something like that to ease the situation they would have made it an even bigger issue
That’s absolutely what the implication was. Arresting officer implied that because everything was being recorded, his hands were tied, he wouldn’t be able to give them that “fellow cop” pass to let it slide. Any regular civilian instead? They would be treated like a criminal, zero empathy, zero patience, unapologetic.
@@zg6879 not quite what I meant. I have worked in bad parts of town where crack heads would come into my shop all the time. And when they would start going off about something like the prices or us not lending them our phones, we would say things like “our hands our tied it’s company policy for us not to lend you our phone we can get fired” when we in no way ever had any intention of lending the crack head covered in puke dropping rocks everywhere our phones. Really seemed like the arresting officer was trying to get the bad cop off the road with as little arguments as possible.
Arresting officer was an ass. Plain and simple. Two cops, 4 blocks from home. Absolutely no proof of intoxication. Guy was bored to death and being a jerk.

If you don't understand - then you have no common sense or your just being a smart ass.
And, they just got caught this time. How many other times have they driven drunk and endangered the public or made a traffic stop drunk. Most cops today are on a power trip and it shows with their comments. Buy the beer at the store and drink at home.
Cop says, " My hands are tied. Everything is recorded now, so I can't do anything for you." Imagine how many cops let other drunken cops off the hook before body cameras. The hypocrisy.
Have to say this is the worst job of policing that I've EVER seen.
Yup. He let the guy in the tutu go.
This arrest would be done in 3 minutes if they treated these “cops” like normal civilians
Fucking facts! And the fact that she had the gun on her while Intoxicated and the cop repeatedly says I'm not charging you but if it would've been any normal civilian felony all the way. Completely disappointed 😞 😕
Prove it criminal.
lmfao. Watch any other drunk driving incidents. If they were a normal civilian, they'd be throwing a fit and crying about how they're being abused.
nah...
This is cop privilege!
if there wasn't video recording he just let them go :/
@@suzanh7777 I'm not shocked, the only reason he didn't let her go is because of footage, they have to record 24/7

No one deserves kindness after drinking and driving. A drunk driver killed my best friend. He literally drove on top of his car and smashed him and the car and kept driving until a wheel fell off. There’s no excuse for drunk driving. If you don’t have a safe way home don’t drink.
So sorry about your friend. I‘be been hit by three drunks! Got the chronic back pain to prove it. NO sympathy for anyone under the influence and driving.
Agreed 100%! I was hit by a drunk driver when I was 16 and my life and my body have never been the same and is a constant struggle with numerous things that were easy before
Im sorry about your friend.
And you would think that the 2 drunk offi ers would know they were breaking the law
So why did the husband walk?
My sincere condolences.
They still let a drunk carrying a gun go!

The fact that they keep repeating "everything is recorded" to me seems to imply that if it was not recorded, this incident would have turned out VERY differently (i.e. preferential treatment)
You're right
Bingo!!
more likely just an excuse not to, to make her not take it personally.
Could be. On the other hand it's an easy yet very effective argument to make it clear that there is no chance he can let them go so he probably uses it to prevent discussion and drama.
Yep
Double Standards, they all should be fired. He 100% would have let them go if there was no video of it.
He should be fired for what he *would* have done? In that case, lock us all up.
I totally agree, sad thing is it happens every day where they’re never charged!
He HAS to charge them for having the firearms while drunk. They're police issue. It's against policy.
That’s BS how he’s treating her way different than a regular civilian. Makes me mad😡
Well boohoo! Cry more!
Wow! They're really gonna let a intoxicated person with a gun on his hip walk away without disarming his weapon, WOW!....
I was thinking the same thing, if we were drunk and carrying a loaded firearm we would be charged no questions asked. But because he's a off duty cop it's cool?
Who is very angry, as well
I would have called for plenty of backup knowing that they were armed overpaid troublemakers
Yeah, NOT OKAY…
Bullshit
He basically admitted the reason he had to arrest her was because it was recorded. Imagine if it wasn’t, they’d get away with it all 🤔
yep, a corrupt organization for decades
more than likely he said that to stop her from trying to beg for special treatment. it's a less argumentative and less escalating way to say you're not getting a break.
I've gotten out of many charges, as a civilian, because the cop cut me slack. They do this all the time for ANYONE (if they can) ...I think primarily to keep things peaceful. It leaves you feeling thankful and thankful people are less likely to retaliate.
If you're a prick though then, yes, they're gonna throw the book at you. So, if you find you're always getting slammed by the cops, well, be nicer.

cops get kickbacks when they tow cars to their friends impounds. it’s sick shit these fuckers do
Brian M bro that’s so true and I’m freaking livid thinking about it
Yup they should tow the car. In real time, the husband should also get cited for carrying his gun while drinking. And yeah, they do their jobs everyday they work. That’s their JOB has nothing to do with double standards where the law is concerned. They SHOULD she SHOULD have gotten the felony charge for gun as well. It is bullshit she did not.
She should have been subjected to the field test with her heels on as well.
Police officers arrested for DUI that have arrested civilians for DUI should have mandatory jail time.
You guys are right! But AT LEAST he didn’t let them slide!
Its separate. They should just be treated like the rest of us.
Uncle Ed - nah. Let’s not compound the problem.
They were driving safely. It used to be if you were too drunk, you got a ride ,walked home or put In a drunk tank with no charges. The car would stay by the road for 3 days to pick it up. The law states there has to be a victim to go to court. There was no victim. There should have been no charges.
Of course he's pissed, he's wearing a f*ckin' skirt.
paul raper You don’t know what a kilt looks like.
I kilt Is still a skirt. They are literally the same thing.
Just because you change the name doesnt make it different. They are basically the same. Cause the catholic girl uniform looks like a kilt but is a skirt. But if calling it a kilt makes you feel better that's all good with me.
@Twisted American They didn't get pulled over in Scotland. I would imagine the passing motorists are gonna say "look at that guy in the skirt walking down the road"

Lmao I was not expecting this guy to come out of the car wearing a kilt🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What’s the deal with 2 off-duty cops, going to a bar & getting
drunk, driving while drunk, both carrying their service revolvers & the guy’s wearing a kilt!! All this PLUS one is let go, to walk home drunk, carrying the firearm issued to him by his department on his waist. This couldn’t have been more wrong on all levels!!
Aye! What's a swearing scottsman to do without a police issue firearm? Tilt me kilt!
When you realize where a man must be stowing his handgun when he's wearing a skirt, and no coat or jacket, you don't really wanna search him and take his gun.
"Regardless I'm not gonna charge you for the gun."
The nation's largest armed gang protects its own. A regular peon citizen would not be afforded this luxury.
Oh, and of course they don't tow the car. Cause it's a cop.
The car not getting towed is another good point. Law enforcement officers above the law...special treatment.
oh calm down seth, those people risk their lives everyday to keep your ass safe. who knows what kind of horrible shit they’ve seen, and maybe that had a part to play in why they were drunk. they can afford the luxury of not getting charged with that. you’re such a fucking snowflake and you democrat dipshits give me no hope for the future of this amazing country
Jackson Smith thanks and agree. I’ve been in this officers predicament having to arrest a fellow officer. If the law is broken it’s broken no special treatment from me. And before any cop haters reply that I would treat a cop differently than any other citizen... I give people the same respect and treat everyone the way I would like to be treated.
Seth D Meyers; nothing is going to happen, they have 2 Great things going on for them , # 1;they all belong to the same Gang #2 you figure it out, if he knew that was a cop his camera would've accidently got turn off, i can hear the police union with 100excuses as we speak, forget the bloods & crips the gang you want to join is the blue, oh well, it's justice & than it's just US

I’m a psychotherapist if one of my colleagues was doing something unethical that put others lives at risk I certainly wouldn’t respect them. This is why so much of the public doesn’t trust police, too many lacking integrity.

Not all cops and there's corruption in every industry.
The expectation was for special exception. She mentions being a cop like its supposed to matter.
I have known people who are given cards by cops who are boyfriends or realitives and they basically tell you they can get away with things because of that card. Seems like corruption is common.
Turns out, the DUI being a cop helped. The passenger telling the arresting officer that he won't lose his job either if he ignores the offense!
Lupita, respectfully you're psycho alright 😂🤣😃
