Thanks it definitely took me a while searching in different places before I found anything. But sure is fun just getting out there. How is/was your camping trip?
I was in search of rocks as well, I miss the East Kootenays, grew up there. Any rock you pick up is a fossil or something cool. It was amazing thank you for asking. One note, municipal campgrounds are becoming filled with the homeless. I've been doing this trip for years and this is new.
You may have covered this in a previous video but what type of gear are you wearing for this type of activity? Also I was in Fort Mac last weekend and we saw 2 bears as my daughter drove me back to the airport (on the airport road). You probably carry bear spray but are you concerned about encountering bears or other dangerous wildlife? Great video! Enjoy seeing the variety of rocks. Also the music in the video is synonymous with your TH-cam channel. 👍🤗 (posted in a reply by accident)
I was wearing hiking boots, fox bike pants and a bike jersey. The jersey because of the bright colours so I can be seen by anyone nearby or seen during hunting season. I’m not usually worried about bears etc but I’m always aware and carry bear spray and bear bangers. Not a lot of bear signs on this river but a ton of wolf prints etc
I should also point out that all the days I was on that river in the water the temps were +30 most days and in this video around +18 to + 20. If it were earlier in the season or later I would have to get waders etc to stay warm. Also the best thing I used was the trekking poles. If it was not for those I would have fell several times and would have been much slower traveling up and down the river.
I was there from Thursday to Sunday and actually regretted not bringing pants in my carryon because it had been so hot prior to that! Glad you got a break from the heat! It was quite muggy as i was flying out on Sunday. I have appreciated my trekking poles in the past as well. Thank you for you efforts and for responding. 👍
Looks like a fun hike, can see from tree piles in some places that there are times that river is much higher. I often wonder what type rocks are on the beaches here in Newfoundland seens every color, every type Imaginable are on some.. I'm sure now some are carnelian like those, will have to take closer looks whats so special about carnelian? Other than their looks , are there distinctive features I should look for? Hope you have an awesome week.
I'm far from an expert on Carnelian but I'm going to try me best to explain about it. It is actually a type of gemstone and can either be translucent or opaque. You can see its colors really good if you hold a light to it. It ranges in color from a dull orange, bright amber to deep red. It also kind of has a sort of a waxy feel to it.
I'm still learning about it myself. But like me once you see a piece of Carnelian you just know its Carnelian. Anyways thank you so much for commenting I really appreciate it.

Great video man! You should do a video going over the gear you wear for walking the creeks
That’s a great idea I will do that for sure
