I love everything about the Outdoors. The sounds or lack there of, the scents, the sites, the Plants & Animals etc etc .
I especially love how I feel while I'm enjoying a trip out into nature. I love walking, hiking, backpacking, Trail maintenance & Trail building, kayaking & Canoeing. Sometimes I might even get out for A fatbike adventure.
I'm Also a Avid Lover of Rocks. More so Agates, Carnelian & Fossils but I love getting out for a day of Rockhounding. I may not be the best at Identifying all rocks but I love learning & finding them.
I also love camping. I love camping during all 4 seasons. I love camping in normal tents, hot tents, hammocks and even bushcraft shelters.
I also love photography & videography. I'm most excited when I get to film a wild animal. But I also love a great view, a picturesque landscape and a good sunrise or sunset.
All my video's are things that I want to do. My channel is my story. Won't you come join me?

Snowtrekker Crew 10x13. Kni-Co Alaskan Wood Stove. First Burn. First Overnight in The New Tent.
Today I'm Finally getting out to setup and use my new Canvas Hot Tent. And to burn in and use my new wood stove. I'm very excited to share with you this new winter camping setup. So come and join me. And keep in mind its -20 outside & on two different scenes my camera shut down due to being to cold. Once when I was setting up the tent. Just as I tossed the tent over the frame. And the 2nd time when I was lighting the outside campfire in the morning it also shut down. The next time I'm out I will be sure to film the entire Tent setup. Step by step.

I put on my snowshoes and hit the trail out to Beaver Pond Camp. I wanted to get out and spend the day and night at the Hot Tent. I enjoyed the snowshoe out, processing firewood and just the day and evening by the fire having coffee and a cigar. Good food later in the tent and then a very cozy night in the nice warm tent. I slept for A little over 10 hrs. Then it was time to pack up all the gea...

It's That time of year again. Winter Camping season. Time to setup the Hot Tent/Canvas tent with a wood stove. But first I have to clear any fallen tree's from the trails. Then I have unseasonable Temps to deal with which makes the ice crossings unsafe and I am unable to pull the sled with gear. So I pack the Tent and stove into camp which is just under 9km one way. And finally its here....Hot ...

Great video Todd I had the same tent for several years then gave it away when I got sick. I know you will really enjoy it
Thanks so much. I’m really looking forward to getting out to use it again. Thanks for commenting I appreciate it.
Glad you love your new Crew. I have had a 9.5x11 Exp shortfall since 2012. Still going strong. Only advice I can give you is carry 4 sheet metal screws. #12x1". My bottom pipe that goes into the stove came apart. This let the pipe slide farther and farther into the stove. Blocked adding wood until I figured out what was wrong.
Thanks for the tip I appreciate it. I think the screws actually came with the stove. I will keep them with me just incase. Thanks for commenting I really appreciate it.
One thing I learned quick with my Snowtrekker and Knico was to check the elbow often and very closely, I have had the elbow come apart at one of the swivel joints about 1.5 days into a trip, it went back together just fine and has never happened again but I watch it like a hawk. Next is to never use rope for the chimney support sticks, I keep a small length of mechanics wire in my gear, I used paracord ONCE to tie the sticks together and it melted even tho it was in a spot I assumed was far enough from the pipe and far enough up the pipe to be safe… I think it was at the last pipe joint and a good 8” away from the pipe…. But it melted anyway at -20c with a bit of wind. Last but not least you should really consider adding a small screw to every joint in the pipe, I’ve had the wind blow my chimney off, I’ve had the stove move as the ground thawed and the pipe stayed in the roof jack but pulled out of the elbow…. I’ve had my 9x11.5 Basecamp for about 6 years now, hands down the best tent I’ve owned… absolutely love it.
Those are great tips and I appreciate that for sure. Will use them in the future when I’m out. Thanks for your advice and comments I always appreciate it
Great tent and love the video!
Thanks so much I appreciate it and thank you for commenting.
Super dark red! Nice one!
Thanks Mike. Appreciate it.
You may be living in Fort McMurry but you are clearly from the East Coast... Where you from? I'm in Halifax... BTW thanks for the review, Doing some research on this liitle known knife
CBS Newfoundland originally. Thanks very much for your comment. This is a great knife. I still use it all the time. You should also check out the Helle Utvaer. Another great knife as well. th-cam.com/users/shorts3Z9hX2EvKDM
Amazing video!! Thanks for sharing!! I just subscribed to your channel!! Greetings from Greece!!
Thank you so much I really appreciate it.
Thanks, will buy
Your Welcome. Thanks very much for commenting.
I saw your review for the storm break 2 tent, then had to check out the rest of your channel. 27:24 was insanely majestic, you got a good eye Todd. You’ve inspired me to go camping soon, thanks!
That's so awesome. Thank you for commenting I really appreciate it. I'm excited for you to get out camping. That's exciting.
Hi, greats from Argentina. We have a question, how much milimeters of rain resist the tent? about 3000? o less? thanks you very much for the video.
I'm not sure the exact measurement of how much rail fell that day. I will say that it didn't rain that hard and I think just under an hour. So not a lot to be honest. I did have this tent in the rail a few more times after this video and it handled it pretty good. And ventilated well. Hope that helps and thank you for commenting.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. 🎉 I've been looking forward to seeing you back out. I know waking to a smoky tent with definitely give you a sore raspy throat. Hope it's better. A new tent. Looking forward to seeing it. Hope this is a banner year for you. Take care Todd 🏕️🌨️🪵🔥 🥩
Thanks my friend. I'm feeling much better now. Should be a pretty great year I'm hoping. I have lots planned & hoping to get another trip in this weekend. With the new tent. Can't wait. Happy New Year my friend.
Todd I always enjoy your videos. I’m really anxious to see your new tent
Hoping to get out next weekend so we both won't have to wait to long. I have not seen it setup either. LOL. Thanks for commenting I appreciate it.
Happy New Year! And a fantastic chunk of agate
Thanks very much all the best to you in 2025.
Merry Christmas, Todd and Linda! Beautiful specimen!!!
Same to you my friend. Thanks very much.
A very Merry Christmas to you and Linda!🎅🎄
Thanks very much I appreciate it. All the best to you & Yours. Merry Christmas.
Awesome video Todd, I use spruce bows to clean my stove pipes and last winter I found out the hard way that one should clean your stove pipes regularly. I was on a three day winter camping trip and on the second night I was woken up at around 2am to a tent full of smoke because my top pipe was plugged with creosote from burning mostly pine wood. The reason why the top pipes build up more creosote is because they don't get as hot as the lower pipes do and can't burn off the creosote. Also having a smoke/carbon detector is a must. Once again great video Todd, I look forwards to your videos.
I try and clean my pipes after every 2nd night of use. No matter How the temps are etc etc. Or after anytime I move the tent. Better and safer this way. Thanks for commenting I really appreciate it.
So pretty.
Thank you I appreciate it
That's a fantastic red!!🙌🏻
Thanks so much
Very nice!
Thanks I appreciate it
Excellent video my friend! Thanks 🙏🏻
Thank you so much I really appreciate it.
Congrats on hitting 1k subs. Always enjoy your vids. You come across as a real genuine outdoorsman.
Thank you so much I really appreciate it.
That's a really nice shittey pc Todd!😂
Hahahahaha Thanks my friend.
better jaktkit or fallkniven :)
I just found this same tent but the orange version. I found it at a local thrift shop for $5!!!! I set it up in the back yard and its all complete and in great condition!!! I hope to get outside myself! Thanks for the review
That's an awesome deal. So cool. Hope you get out to use it and make many great memories doing so. Thanks for commenting I really appreciate it.
Excellent find!!
Thanks very much I appreciate it
great video man. Love the long format!
Thanks my friend I appreciate it
Awesome bud.
Thanks Joey I really appreciate it. Thanks for commenting.
Oh my god all that hard work and you make instant coffee. Wow going to be nice
That was French press coffee not instant. French vanilla Van Houtte coffee but I had some in my own container. I also added the creamer to the pot before I poured it. Thanks for commenting I hope you enjoyed the video
This guy is great haha. I think I found your channel looking up a review for a silky saw.
Hahaha thank you so much I really appreciate it.
The chilly king into the woods. Really enjoyed the video mate! Looks like you really had the fun.
Thanks my friend I appreciate it. I had a great time and can’t wait to get back out again. Thanks for commenting
Always love your videos Todd. Great location for camping. I love those esker tents. My nephew lives in Fort Mac. Greetings from Orangeville Ontario
Thank you so much I really appreciate it. Your right this area has some amazing wilderness area's which makes for many amazing places to camp.
Maybe Valhalla Pure store could get you a footprint to match the size of your tent. Such as the Halo 4p footprint. Good luck!
I found one from Amazon sometime ago. But thank you for the tip and your comment. I appreciate it.
You can almost pet those spruce grouse!😂
Hahaha yeah I seem to get pretty close to some of them lol
I've got the utvaer and got the didi for my nephew (his hands are significantly larger than). We got the blade blanks and together with a friend of mine made matching handles out of a piece of burled maple along with and Utvaer for my dad.
That sounds amazing my friend. Thank you for sharing that. Helle Knives are one of the best around and I couldn't see getting anything else to be honest.
Nice carny!
Thanks My friend.
Todd, you should do a transition video of the seasonal switch from you your last vid to this one! I love the contrast and switching of gears we experience from season to season here. Outdoors people are always buzzing with what's to come from each season, and I think it would be interesting to viewers in dissimilar climates.
That’s a great idea I did have a similar idea for my next video but I really like your idea. Thanks for that.
One of the best saws you can get. Best all around saw with great power to weight ratio
So far I am completely impressed with this saw. Can’t wait to get out and use it more.
@@OutdoorsWithToddP After about 10 tanks of gas you might notice a difference in power. They seem to wake up after break in.
@@NorAlb_Chainsaw_Carver That's pretty interesting. Thanks for letting me know that.
I think that's the perfect size saw for just about anything .
You are right there. What a great saw. I’m already itching to get out and use it more. Thanks for commenting I really appreciate it
Do a video comparing the two chainsaws. That would be awesome. I don't even know anything about them but I'd watch it. I love gear reviews!
That is a great idea. Might just do that sometime.
@ right? I think it would be a hit. 💥
Congrats on your 1k subscribers, Todd. Keep it up! And THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the work you do. I can't wait to tell Justin about the Fisheries Trail. Also nice to see you two on the trails the other day. Hoping we have a great winter in Fort McMurray. See you again soon on the trails. :)
Thanks Tammy I appreciate it. I’m hoping for a great winter season. See you out there.
Nice chunk!!!
2:09 bro is cutting the cut 💀
👍
Wow! Nice job Todd. Did you use borax after stage #4?
Also, I bought optical grade cerium oxide off of Amazon and do stage# 5 with excellent result. Mirror finish.
@@Mike-br8vb I didn't use the Borax after stage 4. I will be honest and say this is where I find the tumble sometimes takes a turn for the worse for me. I think it maybe the stage 4 polish I'm using. Next batch I plan to use something new for that stage. I may look into Cerium Oxide like you suggested. Thanks for that. I'm also getting used to which rocks tumble good and which don't as well.
I use borax after stage #5 as well, gets out the microscopic grit particals, leaving an even better shine.
@@Mike-br8vb I'm planning on doing this time after every cycle. I usually run it for a day what about you?
They say 2hrs, but yes, a day is what I normally do. Best of luck!
I have been trying to figure out how to keep the flaps rolled up and secure so this really helped. Thank you!
No problem at all. Thank you for your comment.
Is it good for smaller jobs? Finer wood working exct?
Other than carving out the basic shape etc of a spoon I wouldn't say it would be much good for finer wood working jobs. But in my opinion makes a great all around bushcraft knife. Hope that helps you out and thank you for your comment. I truly appreciate it.
North face went downhill very fast over the years with their tents ever since it turned into a fashion brand i must say many Better options out now for cheaper too in my opinion
I will be clear, I'm not necessarily talking about this specific tent but I find that a lot of North face products now 🤷
Other than this tent I’m not a huge fan of their tents as of late but I did pickup a trail lite pack from them this season and I’m really enjoying it. Thanks for your comments I really appreciate everyone’s opinions.
Glad i came across your page! Im from BC but living here in fort mac and been rock hounding grayling area and honestly where ever else haha. I have some rocks that i cant identify for the life of me. Lmk if i can message you some pics!
I will try and help for sure. I'm on facebook Under Todd Peddle if you want to send pics there. Thanks for commenting.
Put a piece of that rock in a small bowl of vinegar. If it produces bubbles (carbon dioxide), it has calcium carbonate which indicates a limestone.
Great idea. I plan to cut a smaller piece off today so I will put a piece in vinegar for sure. Thank you for commenting I appreciate it.
What is that? Sand compressed to glass?
I put pictures on a few rock facebook groups and got a few different answers to what it might be. I plan to cut a smaller piece off today to see what is going on inside. Very interesting and kinda fun trying to figure it out. Thanks for commenting I appreciate it
