  • Tonight on the old leather couch, we celebrate Halloween with a haunted house - not haunted by ghosts, but haunted by tragic memories and family scandal (and in the case of the lead actor, very bad acting). Won’t you join us for House of the Long Shadows?
    In Seen It, we return to horror: horrors that are bloody, freaky, hungry and…hobgoblin-y…

    For some reason, my original comment was deleted, but I just wanted to thank Matt and Craig for reading my 'Seen It' question regarding 'The Hunger' during this episode. It definitely made my year! 😃😃😃

    House of the Long Shadows has great atmosphere. Kinda like The Howling 5 which is another flawed movie with an atmosphere that's extremely fantastic. I wish there were more atmospheric large spooky mansion/castle movies

    Maybe you realised this after recording, but the final viewer comment was probably referring to people leaving bad reviews on Yankee candles because they've lost their sense of smell because of covid so they can smell the advertised scent. The candles haven't stopped smelling however they're supposed to smell, I imagine.

    I disagree with Mathews opinion about the waive in Duel. I think it adds a personal, physical element, that keeps you interested. Unless you know the end scene then I understand. But imagine when it came out. I still love this movie today.

    I literally just saw this for the first time recently, so happy to see you experience it too. Desi Jr was such a poor choice, he's only capable of mustering one feeling and that feeling is punchably smug. The "happy ending" feels so undeserved, none of the plot shows why 'sentimentality is better than materialism' and it doesn't show him developing. All his actions at the end sound like a bratty kid saying sorry because his parents want him to. Honestly if they cut the whole part with the writer and let this be a little drama about a weird family with a dark secret, this could be a succinct thriller. I could watch the entire rest of the cast for hours! Anyways, great show as always, lots of laughs!

    If you're including Spielberg's Made-For-TV movies then shouldn't Murder By The Book (The origin of Peter Falk's Columbo) count? It's 116min so I think that qualifies it as such.

    Hal Ashby’s 8 Million Ways to Die, seen it?? Am under appreciated though flawed last film by the great Hal Ashby this film features great performances, interesting long takes & set ups and one of the best films on alcoholism. I highly recommend this oft-forgotten crime picture!

    There are many issues with this film, but Arnez is really the biggest liability. He is absolutely horrible and the best/worst case of nepotism ever. Shame, really. With those four giant horror icons in one movie, let alone for the last time. 😢

    hard disagree with Matt, the truck being driven by some slob is way more scary then a faceless (well handless) truck.

  • @MisterSynyster
    @MisterSynyster ปีที่แล้ว

    Duel sounds a lot like Joy Ride, a movie where a creepy trucker fucks with Steve Zahn & his friend because they pulled some kind of mild gay panic prank on him & he decided to just creepily stalk them in his semi & you never DO really get to see what the guy looks like...
