I followed your instructions for my (first time) making tortillas and they turned out great 👍 No more seed oil tortillas for my family! Thankyou for your very helpful video, it gave me the confidence to give it a crack ❤️
If you use hexane-refined, chemically washed, deodorized, & bleached "vegetable" oil, you may as well use motor oil since it's made the same way and is just as toxic.
There are times from start to finish I can get done in 30 minutes. Sometimes I like to let them rest though for a while before rolling them out. But you don’t have to
So much wrong in this video. 1) mix the fat well with the dry ingredients. It should look like sand and should kinda clump in your but still crumble. Then you add your water. Yes baking powder reacts to liquid but it's double acting. It will react when heated as well. 2) you seem you be on the dryer side with your dough in the video. It definitely needed a tad bit more water. 3) 20 minutes is the very bare minimum rest time. 2-4 hours even over night in the fridge. Is way better. 4) thin flour tortillas out of a press is very doable, but not with dry unrested dough.
Wow, i did these, my family, and I really enjoyed them. They remind me of my grandmas flour tortillas. Thank you for sharing this recipe 😊

What temperature do you heat your cast-iron pan before cooking the tortillas?
I like to get to a medium, medium high
It needs to be pretty warm but not smoking , if that makes sense

My family never complains about the tortillas.
I’ll keep doing my way.

Tortilla press is only used for corn tortillas!🧐🤨
I found that out, thank you. I had to still roll them out!
