Great that you reviewed this watch. It deserves it. I myself have been a fan of this watch for a long time. People often forget that there aren't that many watch manufacturers in Germany that work exclusively with their own movements. And G-O also builds some of the best movements there is. I compare them a little with JLC. G-O watches are well thought out and have useful functions, and they are built to last forever.
Hot damn this watch house has hit it out of the park, I plan on reviewing this on my channel this year if I can get my pocket book to accept it. I also agree to 70’s Pano is fire
I'm usually not into Chronographs because I prefer uncluttered dials, but I love this watch. I think it's because the sub-dials are the same color as the dial, so it makes for a less cluttered look. Plus I'm a sucker for TV dials. A Mido TV Big Date is a more affordable alternative.
I thought my eyeballs would pop out when I saw the Glashütte… I just bought the MIDO and since I had to send it in for repair after 2 weeks because the sucky ETA movement screwed up the Big Date my decision to save up for a Glashütte was a clear case.
@ apparently they dumped the whole 1st round… So my watch was sitting on the shelf for a while. But no issues, fully covered by the warranty, just a couple of weeks waiting ….
Great video Bruce. I love the G.O. brand and this Seventies model in particular. Keep bringing the spotlight to great brands like this that fly a little under the radar!
If it wasn’t for the sucky movement… speaking from experience. I enjoy the MIDO a ton, even more so when it comes back from the repair, the Big Date lasted a mere two weeks.
I like it , very nice. Good job Glashutte. That said, I think 14.1 mm thickness is a bit too thick, they could have done better , and lastly almost US $16,000 for the rubber strap version is too much . If this were a 10-12 k watch then I would consider it and it would be a hit . At this price I doubt they will sell many . Maybe pre owned at a big discount?
For this specific green dial, two years ago in Taiwan, it required at least a six-month wait to get one at an authorized dealer. I purchased the exact model two weeks ago and have been enjoying every aspect of it. (After the discount, it’s about $13,000 USD with the bracelet and leather strap combo.) Overall, the square case design is subjective, but the ultra-high-quality finishing of the case, dial, movement, and flyback capability strikes a perfect balance between elegance and sportiness in this price range.
Sorry. Germans just aren't watch masters. Glashutte does good stuff but every single piece they make has some weird thing going on. This one, the polished bezel, off colored dial, the glass, indices... Nah thx
I adore Glashutte Original
Wow.... wish I had the words for this one. And the money!
Thanks for the look, Bruce. Beautiful shots.

Für 10-12 K bekommt man bei anderen Herstellern kein Flyback Chronograph, kein PanoramaDate, keine Gangreserve und nicht das Finish.

It’s a Monza copy with a few variations.
Don't comment when drunk.

@@MsFleshgear They can engineer and build good mechanical pieces but design ain't their strong suit. IMO
