i tried playing Resident Evil 4 remake on this laptop though mine has 1050 ti and 16 gb ram and its stuttering hard (i set everything to low) and the game just becomes unplayable after an hour. could it be a thermal paste and fan problem? the gpu also reaches up to 90 degrees.
@@lllvv In terms of the temps, 90 degrees can still be considered safe, but what about the CPU temps? Either way, I still recommend looking forward to undervolting your CPU and GPU, and perhaps cleaning the fans and replacing the thermal paste if temps are still pretty high. The stuttering might also be caused by a slow hard drive that (maybe) serves as your boot drive and Microsoft background processes (like Windows Update) or other programs running in the background, but I can't be sure cuz you didn't specify that.
@@thebigboatgaming I dont really know what the cpu temps are since I only checked the temps from task manager though I can download msi later. For reference this laptop just got put in some corner and hasn't been used for a solid 6 years too. I'll probably need to get it cleaned asap.
@@lllvv Yeah, that's a good idea xd And pls reinstall Windows on the SSD and use the HDD for games only lol Then again, it's a miracle your Legion Y520 still works after not being used for 6 years 🤯

You can buy it from second-hand shops. Usually costs around 300$ assuming you live in a country where tech isn't very expensive. It's pretty decent still even 7 years later, especially for E-Sports games, though not as much for newer AAA games, but I recommend looking for a newer gaming laptop if you/your parents have a wider budget.
