- Modern day pilots in DH Chipmunks and SA Buldogs commemorate RAF D-Day Deception mission in collaboration with Worthing Sailing Club. Flying from Goodwood the aircraft and sailing boats collaborate with several passes along the coast. The original deception mission started along the coast between Worthing and Brighton before flying towards France. The commemoration stayed cloase to the shore so that people of Worthing and Shoreham could see it. In 1944 this flight was carried by 617 Sqdn, the Dambuster's, and our flight was also in memory of Wng Cmdr John Bell who was the navigator in Lancaster A Alpha on that very mission. John lived nearby the the RAFA home in Storrington, sadly he died just a month before the commemorative flight when he was close on 102 years. So we salute his memory and all others who served in WW2 .
