I agree with Johnny. It is impossible, the west will never accept asian artists. BTS might have broken into the West, but to truly make it you have to have continuous songs played in mainstream radio stations. The closest artists who had their music played was Yutada Hikaru, Jane Zhang, and Coco Lee. All of them had one or two songs only. Kris Wu and many others are popular amongst Asian Americans, but will never be on the airwaves consistently which is why Asians will never make it. Look at the American ones like Jessica Sanchez, Charice, and Coco Lee who started in America but had to go overseas to have their music played on the airwaves. The West will always think there’s no place for Asians until Asians make a better niche. Lastly, pronunciation is a big thing, Asians typically asianify the English lyrics, such as “hard carry” by got7, they used the Korean way or accent making it “had-dur-care-ri-ey” which doesn’t even make sense to an English speaking person.
