    Hey Mark,
    Thank you for all your video's. Your the reason I started keeping shrimp. I see you checking TDS when doing water changes and the like. I presently have 3 of my 5 tanks filled with shrimps, they are Neocaridina's. I've been refining my shrimp keeping skills/knowledge. I realized that most of my tanks were not set up, cycled, fed and or cared for properly!!! I have since redone each of them in a proper manner.
    My question is, Ideally what should the TDS be for a NEO tank setup? I recently purchased a TDS meter and checked all of my tanks. They are between 118 and 180 ppm?

    Ammonia 0
    Nitrite 0

      @@MarksShrimpTanks how to cycle New Shrimp tank quickly?

    • @MarksShrimpTanks
      @MarksShrimpTanks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      probably buying bacteria or seeding a tank with old filters, you should still measure ammonia, nitrites and nitrates to make sure it has cycled. for a normal sand or gravel tank you would need ammonia and nitrites to be zero followed by a small amount of nitrates. In this video I used the same filter from the old tank and just let it settle for a few days before adding shrimp.

    Anyone ever had a shrimp jump out of tank somehow? Is that a thing that happens often ? Or did I just get really unlucky ? Only had 4 now 3.. water parameters are perfect and I put no co2 so I'm wondering if there's a length I must keep the water line away from the top of the tank to prevent this

    • @MarksShrimpTanks
      @MarksShrimpTanks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      what you want to look for is wet areas that go up and over the side of the tank or lower the water enough that there is a dry patch all the way around the rim of the tank. shrimp will only climb a wet surface and yes its normal for them to climb.
