    Interesting about not being able to claim for training costs for new skills. I assumed you could just claim that. I'm a driving instructor and want to do my lorry and bus licence so I can instruct them in the future.

      I thought the same, seams bizarre that you weren't allowed to claim for training cost/new skills.
      Does the new training/ new skills, have to be in the same industry? I'm a taxi driver, but I was thinking of taking a training course in plastering. Can I claim for the cost of doing the the plastering course?
