And 5th reason: Characters that almost have no personality whatsoever.
And now I would like to make a comment on Battle for the Goanimate Island (BFTGI/BFGI): This thing is absolutely disgraceful not only for those who love Object Shows, but also for those who love Total Drama and Survivor. The creator of this thing at that time didn't handle critisism whatsoever. All 40 characters didn't have a personality whatsoever and practically absence of proper animation and voice acting should be considered as one the worst elimination shows. Even terrible shows such as Shape World or Object Terror had some efforts to watch, while for this show, it doesn't have at least one effort.
Penalty system be like: You get to hold this sign, you get 70 extra elimination votes and that's totally fair, your team automatically loses in the next episode in case you didnt get voted out cuz why not, your vote counts gets quadrupled, you dont get the prize even when you get the most likes, your team gets sabotaged in every challenge every time if you dont get eliminated, your existence will be seen as a burden to this dying world, 10 hitmen will be sent to your demise, your location will be exposed to the world, your house gets nuked, your family will no longer love you, you'll have no friends, you'll be sent to hell no matter what, and you'll forever be alone. Actually screw it, you're instantly eliminated f*** you. - To the troublemaker who put dirt on the giant cake

They also put characters they dislike and make them do something stupid so they get a penalty, and they then encourage us to vote that character off. Their biases are also shown in the teams with characters they dislike, like having something bad happen to them. The team with characters they like, always win, and that gets boring.

My very first GoAnimate videos were Character Eliminations. I've been looking back on the videos recently (I have them privated, so only I can see them), and I can't believe younger me would make something so cringy. It was your bog standard CE, filled with the tropes one would expect. A lot of the challenges I came up with were dumb too, from the standard eating contest for the first challenge, to a literal coin flip, to one challenge in season 3 where it was just a bunch of the contestants swearing because swearing = good content amirite? I even sometimes just sped up seasons by eliminating characters en masse just because I was lazy, and at one point even announced a season that never even got made. Even when I tried putting "effort" into the videos, they would just slide back into the same old shit we've seen a thousand times, complete with characters that don't act or look like the characters that they're supposed to be representing. The only reason I even got into CE in the first place was because of the "GoAnimate Cool Kids" like L(iam) Ryan and MrTyesVideos doing a bunch of CEs. Well, If I had to thank CE and GoAnimate as a whole for anything, it would be for introducing me to friends (most of them, just recently lost two because of personal issues that I don't want to get into) that I have to this day.

My main problem with character eliminations when I was a kid was that almost all of them were direct copies of mrtyesvideos. You had the same challenges, the same cast loaded with characters who the creator doesn't even like, or sometimes it's "Villain" characters and half of them are random characters from children's media who aren't at all villainous

So this was an idea I was thinking of for a bit, ever since I came across the "Character Elimination" thing again. I liked the concept, but I didn't like the repetitive style and the whole "Troublemaker" thing. I was thinking of doing my own version, except by converting the characters into Countryballs. Yeah some characters will look horrible, but hey, it's something new. I'm not sure on what to call it, but I'd say as a working title, I'll call it: "The Strip Mall Show" as that sounds like a decent place to locate the show. Does anyone have any tips on how to make sure TSMS doesn't fall under the smae category of cringe that other CEs fall under?

@@nanamilavender Speaking of crazy counting, I watched a C. E. where the punishments were “your votes will be doubled”, even though they were actually ^2’d. For example, if you got 9 votes, it’d become *81 Votes*. I actually asked them about it which was how I found out. This got worse in season 2 where the punishment was ^3. So if you got 5, you’d suddenly end up with 125. I actually protested against this when they decided to make Barney a troublemaker and their excuse was because “They sang their song”. I scrolled to the comments and there were some people who actually didn’t vote Barney. But Barney got shredded anyways.

I’m the creator of Waldwick Elimination, I’m currently on Season 9 right now, and my earlier seasons of the show were really cringe. They were shorter, no one got developed, and no one had a personality. After watching Camp Animal Crossing (though being entirely based on TDI, it gave me the idea to make episodes longer and give characters personalities. Every season of my show has gotten better.) I just wish people had done the same thing I did, and try to come up with original ideas or use creativity in a good way. So, here is some advice for people making new shows that have the reality type idea like Survivor or Total Drama. -Original plot line (You can do inspiration though.) -Having a wide range of players made by different companies but also having other user’s characters compete, if they request -No unfair penalties or prize handlers, or lame challenges -Avoid the non troublemaker or troublemaker terms. -Have idols or cool things like that instead. (Change up the format a little, it’s your show.) (But I tell people that CE are Fan-made. Nothing is canon, unless the creator labels it.)
I’m currently making my own one right now with the first episode recently shortly and instead of prize votes I plan on adding something called exiled votes which a character who gets the most exiled votes will be sent to a remote island the next time he faces the chance of getting eliminated
Good god do I hate Weatherstar4000’s like, that was so friggin rigged. Most episodes had punishments even if they were t troublemakers like with Buzzy Beetle who was bullied by her team. And even when there weren’t any punishments in the merge, they would have two people race and the person who lost would get voted by the viewers because even if they liked that character, they would still vote because they lost for their team and of course we have the stupid scoreboard where the person in last would be voted out. Worst part is, his fans make CE’s just like them
Ellaftwsugarftl legit turned both of em into straight-up assaulters from what I remember (I dare you to watch a season of that and try to find any dialogue of them not mentioning boobs and feet). Meanwhile Alex Kimble's take on Alejandro was pretty much Ezekiel 2.0, with him fucking up in both seasons and getting out first twice, a far cry from the smoothe-talking villain we know and love.

Its so satisfying seeing Cringe comps of goanimate in 2023...but it now makes me realize that this site is still going on in 2023...Just...wow.... Just yeah, again the videos begin to become white noise since they all just blend in with each other its hard to tell the difference anymore, they only got slight differences in them but basically they're the 'Buzz toy shelf' meme, everyone is the same, like a hive mind always having the same formulaic ideas...Sadly good goanimators are very rare to come across these days... It makes me wonder how i'll execute this idea, like adding in actual character to them and interacting with each other between rounds and intermissions of sorts or side-plots...along with exciting events via gameplay recordings. I had this idea of a horror/deconstruction where the IP characters are stolen by goanimate and possessed or mind controlled into robots which explains why they act like this in videos...And turned into the horrendous character designs they are seen as or frozen into a lifeless png. Or recolored into a 'dark' character. It also makes me wonder how a CE deconstruction might go, like showing off its flaws or how the said event gets worse via poor management and worse as it declines in popularity, events become unfinished, have poor maintenance or are just plain bad or things start to go horribly wrong like accidents which ends in the CE getting cancelled or the characters rebelling against the host because of some other factor like getting forced into it behind the scenes. Also maybe the CE host gets a lawsuit from the Inanimate object group for ripping off their elimination show. And...treatment of contestants...especially baby show characters making the host get in trouble with the law.

trust me, it's not as interesting as you think. I remember seeing a Character Elimination where Eraser from BFDI screwed up one episode and got a disadvantage along with the "vote me out" sign. He survived the elimination and the disadvantage was just him having to hold the sign again.

I used to make these when i was younger lol i made like 2 seasons of it before the second one got cancelled when episode 5 or 6 came. Almost of all these CE's have little to no effort at all First of all the characters in 'almost' all of them have no personality and some are just mean characters who get eliminated easily because of the abused penalty system (some ce's what i saw do kinda have personalities but they are still really doo doo) and no character development at ALL. Speaking of the penalty system they are biased as fuck the character can do something slightly dumb and then get a vote me out sign and 1 Trillion Extra Votes and is just not fair at all (dont get me started on banning them on joining future seasons for doing something wrong). Episode 1 on CE's are nothing to look at as they are carbon copies of each other just with different characters,some might have different challenge for episode 1 but most of them are just eating a giant food,with a troublemaker putting some random shit into the food and the person gets pissed (raging will using kiradoo's text to speech) because others didn't wanted to eat,the other ''eats'' the food and then win Finales of almost every ce is literary just the 2 characters that are in who get to see the results a character then wins with like 100 votes then they rewards which are:a trophy,gameending a character cuz they are a troublemaker and a million dollars. Lastly ce's 2 (and more) season have a different location or gimmick (or something) like world tour,jungle,desert,ect. which are kinda different however they are still EXACTLY the same thing but different location and gimmick) Overall i feel like CE's are like 1 dollar budget version of total drama and object shows where there's copy+paste 'almost' all the time,penalties that are biased,characters that are boring as watching paint dry,etc. Tho i admit that they are so bad that they are funny. About the terrible character designs thing, it's because Vyond has limits. So the creators sometimes don't have the right things to make a certain character. I personally think that it's better than animating the entire episode with images of the character. It just makes it feel cheap and lazy in my opinion. Also, I think it would be better to animate with character designs and use images at the end of the episode when it's time to vote. But I think the best approach would be to use the designs at the end and put the character's name under them.

My main problem with character eliminations when I was a kid was that almost all of them were direct copies of mrtyesvideos. You had the same challenges, the same cast loaded with characters who the creator doesn't even like, or sometimes it's "Villain" characters and half of them are random characters from children's media who aren't at all villainous
And the most ironic part is that even TYE himself admits he heavily regrets his own creation and never wants to look back. Which tells you everything.

The idea of Kiddie shows characters(EX: Dora, Caillou, Timmy Time(That one show however didn't get that treatment as i recall unlike the other two) Being troublemakers is getting old, I prefer having a villain in the game staying much longer for a proper reason to create these shows otherwise, It'll be boring

Why do I have feeling that if most of these challenges were used in Total Drama or inanimate objects stuff, elimination chances would be low and people don't know who will be voted out if bias won't show
So this was an idea I was thinking of for a bit, ever since I came across the "Character Elimination" thing again. I liked the concept, but I didn't like the repetitive style and the whole "Troublemaker" thing. I was thinking of doing my own version, except by converting the characters into Countryballs. Yeah some characters will look horrible, but hey, it's something new. I'm not sure on what to call it, but I'd say as a working title, I'll call it: "The Strip Mall Show" as that sounds like a decent place to locate the show.
Does anyone have any tips on how to make sure TSMS doesn't fall under the smae category of cringe that other CEs fall under?
Maybe penalties can be used for interesting twists, rather than getting some trouble maker eliminated, also maybe like +3 not +20 Jesus

@@nanamilavender Speaking of crazy counting, I watched a C. E. where the punishments were “your votes will be doubled”, even though they were actually ^2’d. For example, if you got 9 votes, it’d become *81 Votes*. I actually asked them about it which was how I found out. This got worse in season 2 where the punishment was ^3. So if you got 5, you’d suddenly end up with 125. I actually protested against this when they decided to make Barney a troublemaker and their excuse was because “They sang their song”. I scrolled to the comments and there were some people who actually didn’t vote Barney. But Barney got shredded anyways.

I’m the creator of Waldwick Elimination, I’m currently on Season 9 right now, and my earlier seasons of the show were really cringe. They were shorter, no one got developed, and no one had a personality. After watching Camp Animal Crossing (though being entirely based on TDI, it gave me the idea to make episodes longer and give characters personalities. Every season of my show has gotten better.)
I just wish people had done the same thing I did, and try to come up with original ideas or use creativity in a good way.
So, here is some advice for people making new shows that have the reality type idea like Survivor or Total Drama.
-Original plot line (You can do inspiration though.)
-Having a wide range of players made by different companies but also having other user’s characters compete, if they request
-No unfair penalties or prize handlers, or lame challenges
-Avoid the non troublemaker or troublemaker terms.
-Have idols or cool things like that instead. (Change up the format a little, it’s your show.)
(But I tell people that CE are Fan-made. Nothing is canon, unless the creator labels it.)
I’m currently making my own one right now with the first episode recently shortly and instead of prize votes I plan on adding something called exiled votes which a character who gets the most exiled votes will be sent to a remote island the next time he faces the chance of getting eliminated
Good god do I hate Weatherstar4000’s like, that was so friggin rigged. Most episodes had punishments even if they were t troublemakers like with Buzzy Beetle who was bullied by her team. And even when there weren’t any punishments in the merge, they would have two people race and the person who lost would get voted by the viewers because even if they liked that character, they would still vote because they lost for their team and of course we have the stupid scoreboard where the person in last would be voted out. Worst part is, his fans make CE’s just like them

Just yeah, again the videos begin to become white noise since they all just blend in with each other its hard to tell the difference anymore, they only got slight differences in them but basically they're the 'Buzz toy shelf' meme, everyone is the same, like a hive mind always having the same formulaic ideas...Sadly good goanimators are very rare to come across these days...
It makes me wonder how i'll execute this idea, like adding in actual character to them and interacting with each other between rounds and intermissions of sorts or side-plots...along with exciting events via gameplay recordings. I had this idea of a horror/deconstruction where the IP characters are stolen by goanimate and possessed or mind controlled into robots which explains why they act like this in videos...And turned into the horrendous character designs they are seen as or frozen into a lifeless png. Or recolored into a 'dark' character.
It also makes me wonder how a CE deconstruction might go, like showing off its flaws or how the said event gets worse via poor management and worse as it declines in popularity, events become unfinished, have poor maintenance or are just plain bad or things start to go horribly wrong like accidents which ends in the CE getting cancelled or the characters rebelling against the host because of some other factor like getting forced into it behind the scenes. Also maybe the CE host gets a lawsuit from the Inanimate object group for ripping off their elimination show. And...treatment of contestants...especially baby show characters making the host get in trouble with the law.
You know what, that isn't as bad idea.

I used to make these when i was younger lol i made like 2 seasons of it before the second one got cancelled when episode 5 or 6 came.
Almost of all these CE's have little to no effort at all
First of all the characters in 'almost' all of them have no personality and some are just mean characters who get eliminated easily because of the abused penalty system (some ce's what i saw do kinda have personalities but they are still really doo doo) and no character development at ALL.
Speaking of the penalty system they are biased as fuck the character can do something slightly dumb and then get a vote me out sign and 1 Trillion Extra Votes and is just not fair at all (dont get me started on banning them on joining future seasons for doing something wrong).
Episode 1 on CE's are nothing to look at as they are carbon copies of each other just with different characters,some might have different challenge for episode 1 but most of them are just eating a giant food,with a troublemaker putting some random shit into the food and the person gets pissed (raging will using kiradoo's text to speech) because others didn't wanted to eat,the other ''eats'' the food and then win
Finales of almost every ce is literary just the 2 characters that are in who get to see the results a character then wins with like 100 votes then they rewards which are:a trophy,gameending a character cuz they are a troublemaker and a million dollars.
Lastly ce's 2 (and more) season have a different location or gimmick (or something) like world tour,jungle,desert,ect. which are kinda different however they are still EXACTLY the same thing but different location and gimmick)
Overall i feel like CE's are like 1 dollar budget version of total drama and object shows where there's copy+paste 'almost' all the time,penalties that are biased,characters that are boring as watching paint dry,etc.

About the terrible character designs thing, it's because Vyond has limits. So the creators sometimes don't have the right things to make a certain character. I personally think that it's better than animating the entire episode with images of the character. It just makes it feel cheap and lazy in my opinion. Also, I think it would be better to animate with character designs and use images at the end of the episode when it's time to vote. But I think the best approach would be to use the designs at the end and put the character's name under them.
