This is great! I don't need a 3 hour long class guide, going over what each spec does. More or less I know all of that. This is a good step by step way to decide a main/alt that doesn't get outdated fast. Plus if the class you end up with still doesn't feel right, you have your #2 spot right there. Very nice!
Fun and fluid. that is what works for me in any game. i dont care about anyones meta. ADD: i also like to play all classes at least once, to see what i like and to help understand others playing those classes
Great video and points very well made! I couldn't stop laughing at the deaths in the background on your boomie as you were talking about how squishy they were - completely proving your point.
Fun is key for me. Main is WW, main alt is Disc. Having an extremely difficult time deciding on what I would like to do next. Maybe just stick with these two...
@@smizara In my opinion it really is. i heal on my priest when the guild needs a healer but right now on WW I am having soooo much fun. I enjoy the class fantasy of monk and the fighting style. i try to play my other alts but my monk keeps pulling me back in.
came back to the game for 10.2, after having a long time of off and on again playing. chose to main a rogue purely because I had always wanted to play one, and it was the only class (other than evoker) I had never played at max level before. I've definitely not regret that decision, having started as assassination and now practicing sublety which has just absolute bonkers dps numbers
In 10.2 i started with hunter, pushed to 21s… got bored, changed to Aug Evok, pushed to 25, got bored…. This season I said to myself I would try to DPS after 17 years of tanking… well 2 weeks ago I went back to my prof pally again 😅 I’m a tank through and through.
As a hard altoholic, from time to time I quit the game 1-2 months to ger air, and always come back. Now I am playing Druid, Warr, Priest and Shaman,.in no particular order.
From my experience, what I always end up playing is actually the SECOND most perfect class for me. Whenever I pick the class that I would like the most by going through the process of comparing each classes and scoring therm, there's always a class that makes me to think 'But this class also sounds fun...' and make me to hesitate playing the class I picked that is supposed to be the perfect match for me. And I always ended up playing the class that made me to doubt the result of my class picking process. That class might be not perfect technically, it has something that attracts my heart weather it's the fantasy, the gameplay, or the aesthetic, and that's why I cannot drop it even after I thought I found a right class for me.
I'm in this state constantly and laughed when I saw you make a spreadsheet just like me. I'm playing dh and just got to 2.4k but that's about when the bug bites me. Now my evoker, warrior, priest are all 2k and climbing. I just get bored and trying new things is what I enjoy, so I do it
I left in 10.1 for personal reasons after getting AOTC in Vault on my Unholy DK. Returning to the game, I decided I wanted to switch from Alliance to Horde, because I've always wanted to main an Orc character. I went with Fury Warrior. Coming from a class with 30+ keybinds, going down to half of that with a very easy rotation makes my smooth brain happy. And you can't beat the lore of an Orc Warrior!
Welcome to the Horde, Lok’Tar Ogar brother! I’ve played so many specs and races since I first started playing in WOTLK but I always come back to and have the most fun and RP with orc warrior
I left 8 years ago and I’m back as an alliance after always being horde. I too needed a change. I’m really enjoying the colorful lands of the alliance. Got tired of just everything being red lol. I’m also looking for new class. Playing ret pally right now and enjoying it, but warrior is also on my radar and I’m tempted to try it. I really over having a complex class that needs 4 action bars to manage. (Which isn’t what a ret pally is, but just saying)
I must have missed something because all I got out of this video was how you chose a main for you based off of a few classes that you were interested in, how you felt those classes played, what your guild needed and your personal goals. What does any of that have to do with the rest of us?
I changed my main twice in dragonflight. I started as unholy DK and the damage profile in M+ drove me nuts. You had to choose between all single target or all aoe talents. Then I switched to MM hunter because it pumped in season 1 but in later tiers the lack of defensives was so frustrating. I landed happy on ret Paladin with a legendary axe 😅
As limiting as it sounds, as a m+ dps pugger - I only choose between specs that are very tanky and have bloodlust or battle res. Ret pally was an obvious choice this season, loving it so far!
Hello! I'm a very indecisive person, I'd like to choose a main to play now and throughout the next expansion. I always find myself torn between monk, shaman, priest, warlock, and druid. I enjoy playing primarily solo and DPS, sometimes I also like to heal. 😆
I used to main druid, but the slow ramp up felt unrewarding cuz i mostly do 20 keys with my friends, so i changed back to ret again and i blast keys, and i also got my rogue up cuz i loved outlaw in bfa, and its still a blast to play. Doing 250k overall dmg with 460 ilvl feels great, even out dps 480 ilvl ppl. Besides it helps my ADHD having fast pased class to play
hmm its a really nice topic, ive thought about this quite a bit. ive came to accept that class fantasy weighs 5 points for me. thats why i keep coming back to arms, prot war, survival, and bm. maybe thats also why somehow cant bring myself to play healer, i really dont like the healer fantasy. i lvled and gear my resto just to end up playing enhance🤣
I main outlaw now. And i must agree. Same build for everything. Same rotation over and over again. Recently, i tried unholy. Its much more chill gameplay and fun. Instead of so intense outlaw play 😀 hard choice now 😀
I would change some of the criteria. For me I love Transmog so every raid I create a new fresh mog for my character. I find looking for new mogs, and creating new ones fun. So this makes classes that hide them less ideal (Think Druid - evoker). The tricky part is ease of use. If your pugging alot (i still do some) having a support class makes getting into pugs so much easier. Heals or Tanking. As a personal note I just don't like tanking. Still my Guild is almost overloaded with heals for raid. So you can either have a decent off spec, or go to a alt. Still I like your choices they work. I tend to rotate around major patches so I don't get too bored, but the old itch of alts is acting up again.
I’ve had many alts in my WoW life but I’ve always mained ret pally. Even tho it’s pumping right now, I have to give it a break. Get bored easily. Havoc DH came rrrrreally close to a main but I’ve chose Warlock. Having so much fun with a change of play style. I very slightly prefer melee. I’ve done pretty much every class except warrior. The War Within I’m fairly certain on playing Warrior… straight up BONK mode!!
It blows ny mind that someone hasn’t played warrior, I thought that was everyone’s go to. 100% recommend fury, fast paced, fun, big orc smash and don’t look back
I have mega alcoholism and picking even just 2 to 3 classes to main is hard lol... im trying to plan out for war within and started on a new server, so having to level whatever im interested in to level 70 is helping me choose what's actually fun / holding my interest. I was into druid but ended up having similar issues to what you were saying. So far paladin, rogue and priest are looking like strong contendors. And knowing me I'll probably end up maining all 3 and just rotating what i play to keep it fresh, haha.
I dont like to make alts , i have little time and i want that time focused on one character to complete as most of wow as i can , that means doing achievs/ m+ / quests /etc. And finding a class that can do most stuff is pretty hard, so i found paladin to be perfect for me , im tanking m+ i can shred dps in RBG, do solo content easy and fun.I think paladin is just the best to cover all your needs.
My dream is to play warrior on high m+, but I'm used to short queues as a healer main since BFA, and I really feel that playing DPS (that's even worse as a warrior who has no utility) as solo player is more like a queue simulator lmao. So I'll stick with my prevoker
I stopped maining my long time destro in the begining of dragonflight. Did marksman and survival in season 1 and 2 and decided to do arms and unholy in season 3. But recently I've been playing my lock again mainly destro but some demo too. And I've decided I'm going back to my baby for season 4 and war within I just love it regardless of meta or tier or god comp I'ma play what I like and I find fun and aestheticly pleasing. I really wanna play devastation evoker but I feel groups will force me to play Aug or kick so fuck it
Thats not true.. unless ur doing very high keys like 28 above then maybe they will ask you to go aug. even then if u get to that io you can always start your own high key and there will be people joining you. Honestly you can play anything you want if ur just doing 20s
Id like to main or play afew classes seriously but im too stupid too, rogue, mage and warlock all sound appealing too me but im too dumb to figure out their rotation ect and end up doing terrible dps, so i stick too easier specs like ret paladin & ww monk & fury warrior
For people have a ez mind can chose ez a main but for me who start a shaman and see a WW in the raid who is realy cool then i see a mage and then a hunter and and and ..... this so hard to chose one main i start every day 10 chas . :D
My main Main is now retired (Hunter) too many hunters these days. My main Alt is my original Main from Vanilla, my Warlock and my new Main Alt is my Mage. I'm already pretty sure I'm going to main Mage for TWW.
I choose my specs based on fantasy and how simple they are to play I'm not a fan of flaming keyboard playing like enhancement even though spec overall is very cool
Great video, it's always difficult to select a main specially when you (I) are a casual gamer and you see your guildmates playing many class with higher ilvl and higher skill. I started with Evoker dps, to finally switch to hunter and finally I discover that it's a squishy class and I'm not good enough. Evoker Aug,its cool but I don't feel any sensation with this spec. Mage & Rogue are always class that I would love to play, but the skill cap seems to me to high. Now I'm training Demo, but it's not a 'Meta' dps class and the solo queue in mythic + is cruel. I envy you your choice, but enjoy rogue life and I will enjoy to see your stream as rogue, perphaps some tutorial videos. thx from France
Gotta admit thought I would main fury but once again found myself maining arms because "you can't do big damage and hold bigger swords if you don't got BIG ARMS"
I main’d warrior since vanilla and this season has just been… so bleh and the class has so, so many problems from lack of utility to bizarre talent tree designs. I’ve been messing around on disc/dh/rogue, and am genuinely considering making disc my main.
I had my suspicions that the creators of this channel are Romanian and now that I've seen that paladin name I know I'm right. Name's hilarious and I'm jealous I didn't get it first lmao
when you say Balance feels old and left behind, don't forget there are people crying if Blizzard makes any change to the game, so they have to appease the nostalgics aswell...
ret is so much easier then rogue and pull same numbers not better even:D im thinking of rogue aswell for a bit now but simply still didnt make the step hmz
I started wow in DF and made 4 characters max level. Did some dungeons but thats it. I just realised my realm is dead so i have to find a new home and remake all the characters because im not getting transfers. Now i cant even decide what race -> what realm. I want a rogue and then have some alts. But thats all i know… overthinking every decision
