- Today we'll check out GTA 5 as we compare it's graphics and performance between the iconic PlayStation 3 and its successor, the PlayStation 4. As we might expect the PS4 edition of GTA 5 features a higher 1080p resolution , versus the 720p we got on the PS3. The frame rate is again at 30FPS, but frame rate drops are much less frequent. On top of the resolution bump- textures are vastly improved- world details like, roads, buildings, foliage, vehicles, mountains have significantly more details. Lighting effects and shadows are also superior on the PS4 version, which is to be expected.

I still play this game on my 360 and it’s the best version because it’s the OG version of GTA V and nothing can beat that version in comparison of nostalgia ❤
I agreed. The 360 is a beast, run very good a lot of games and still looks nice with his graphics
To be honest i also prefer the XBOX 360 version, it has more stable FPS than the PS3
I think the PS4 version looks better and has better rain effects and more foliage but I feel the PS3 looks a bit more natural than the PS4 version due to the PS4's bluish color filter. This is especially noticeable at 5:44 where you can see that the buildings on both sides of the street are blue in the PS4 version whereas in the PS3 version the buildings appear more natural and true to their actual colors. Other than that the PS4 version is an improvement over the PS3 version. Especially the anti-aliasing. The PS3 version has terrible anti-aliasing whereas the PS4 version this issue doesn't seem to be present much at all.
I wish there was an option to tone down the blue filter, but well...

On PS3 its nice but it has not all details that the PS4 have, for example grass some time is invisible on the PS3 version?🌱🤔

I’m not going to lie but I recently played gta on my ps4 slim and it felt like it was running on 60 fps. Was there an update?? It was smooth but with some frame drop
It's at 30FPS brother. 30FPS on console feels smoother than 30FPS on PC

Ps3 has less vegetation and fewer reflections
And it runs at lower resolution - 720p vs 1080p

@@SkvalaGamingAlso don't forget ps3 uses bluray media up to 100gb discs the Xbox 360 ruined the quality size cause Xbox needed to have it on two dual layer 8gig discs imagination is if the ps3 version stores more data vs less that. Single layer 25gb bd ROM it could of used a 50gb if wasn't on xbox

Plasma Bright can be maxed using gas particles vs lit pixels oled that become washed out

the ps4 is great but i hate the blue fog.
Many people dislike it- it some kind of blue filter.
@@SkvalaGaming yes it's like they improved the draw distance but then they hid it with the blue fog, makes no sense tbh. I think the 360/PS3 had it too but at a very very small extent and it only happened when it was sunsetting.

@@SkvalaGaming There is not a yet wide enough library exclusively for PS5 to justify the price or the buy.
And then there are the gaming handhelds (the more affordable ones sold at Best Buy) that might not be perfect now, but later may improve to a point where they offer both portability and high enough specs to considering buying over the new consoles.
I think it's best to save money for now until next year to see what is offered, but that's just my opinion.

They cost 80/90 to 60/40 and somtimes for 5 or 20 .
If you want a console and are on a tight budget, I'd highly recommend getting a jailbroken PS4 or a PS4 with firmware lower than 9.00.
I have the PS3 and it's not really worth getting it now as majority ps3 games work on PS4. Also, every game released till 2023 is on the PS4

My RGH 360 used to load GTA V in 20 seconds after the intro, the PS4 takes around a minute and a half. 🥲
